  1. I'm not sure what you should do, but I know what you shouldn't do, and that's post this question in the daily deals thread.

  5. I'm really happy the typewriter was one of the winners. I personally dont think any IP sets should win in the ideas line, as to me it should be about great ingenuity and lego designs, rather than mediocre builds that noone would really notice of the IP sign or minifigs were there. But I guess if it was that way all of the ideas sets would be poor sellers.

  6. It's not Amazon, but Lego. Those are sets coming from other parts of the world without piece count info etc. on them. Personally, I doubt the average consumer would even notice.

  9. Bring on the Knight Rider KITT set and then Airwolf! That would be beyond amazing for me. I haven't bought the Friends or BBT sets, so Seinfeld will be a pass for me too. My kid might want the Home Alone house. He LOVES that movie.

  11. good review. i'm happy to have another train, but a few things that stood out that the author of the video also called out: non-rubber banded wheels don't touch big gaps where the front and back need to articulate. couldn't there have been some sort of corner pieces included that wouldn't conflict with the middle section? have to remove the top of the train to power on the hub. not sure why a piece couldn't have been constructed or included to make this a push button like the city trains. controller does not have a set and forget speed. you have to hold the acceleration down. hopefully the app solves for this. i like to set my trains and let them run. he also makes a great point about all the black. these new black boxes really show imperfections and scuffs like no other. and a black instruction book? blends right in with the dark brown pieces.

  12. That is why occasionally I order the large sets when they are back-ordered with a small item guaranteeing shipment now and the primary, larger item is shipped separately later. Sometimes LEGO does ship them separately to begin with as I saw with the Sian, but that is not the norm.

  13. The typewriter is cool, but I agree with others, it runs a good chance of being the next pop-up book. The pop-up book needs more internal stories to make it really good. Seinfeld is kind of meh for me even though I enjoyed the show... 30 years ago. I enjoyed the reruns even more once I moved to New York City. A lot of jokes made way more sense. But I'm not really into sitcom LEGO sets. I doubt I'll ever get this or any of the others unless they go 50% off. The Home Alone set I think has the most potential, depending on how they do it. Could be a great play set with lots of traps (play features); looks great in a city setup; or a great display piece during Christmas time. Just as long as they don't give it the same treatment they gave the Flinstone's set.

  19. With Friends and now Seinfeld, someone needs to get making an Ideas set of Frasier. The NBC Thursday night trinity! Additionally - sad the winter chalet didn't get chosen. I thought that was a nice successor to the OFS

  20. Call LEGO customer service and they will ship you another. They are easy to work with. You will receive a return label to ship bad one back but don’t send until you receive the other.

  24. I received a 20th Anniv. Slave-1 from Target that way as well. I was thankful only one seal popped. Made me glad I drove to the store to pick up another one.

  25. Target shipped mine diagonally in a big ole box (I had selected it was a gift), box had a few air pillows, but probably half as many as would make a difference. Shipping Box didn't fare well, but the Upside Down is in good shape apart from the fact that EVERY seal sticker has popped, probably due to stress on them and the hot trucks.

  26. I received a Modular Diner from LEGO today in a box that was nearly perfect for it. Unfortunately, they also packed a Hot Rod on top of it. Seriously, the two sets don't even fit in the space they forced it into. Thankfully the Hot Rod box took the brunt of the difference but the front of the Diner has a Hot Rod sized indentation. The really annoying part is I received a Hogwarts Great Hall (all by itself) in a much larger box at the exact same time. If I didn't know better, I would assume LEGO had the two shipments side-by-side and just switched boxes between them. *sigh*

  30. Nice set - I think what helped was it's nostalgic reminiscence to the original Blacksmith Shop.
