Dump them as fast as possible and move on. You are losing money everyday you hold onto a set that appreciates as poorly as Rey's Speeder. One of the worst mistakes you can make reselling is hoping that set that hasn't performed well will rebound. Thanks for that, I think that's the kick up the rear end I need to just unload all of the sets that haven't shown potential. I knew it was the logical thing to do, but just kept on hoping some sets might break out. Even after all of these years, I'm still glad there's a community here who you can throw ideas / get tips off, every day a school day.9 points

And you responded saying you are a one-eyed deaf-mute war veteran with an opioid addiction who needs to support 15 kids in a dilapidated van on an impound lot after his wife left him with maxed out credit cards and alimony, so if she could be so kind and pay double the price thank you very much?8 points

7019 Vikings Fafnir Dragon Fortress This set had been on my list for eons, and I finally found a decently priced one a few weeks ago. Missing a few pieces, nearly complete. Build was pretty basic, tons of stacking, but the overall product looks great, especially on the castle shelf. Overall, I really like it. I generally like bigger sets that don't use tons of tiny pieces, and this one has a certain classic feel to it. Can't believe this thing was a cool 70 bucks at retail, considering the size, features, and dragon. Oh yeah, and the box flips5 points

Well, got four Diner's today from Amazon. All bare shipped covered in stickers -- with the coronastickers as well so it looks like a kids sticker book. All shipped from Arizona to California via UPS. Beat to heck and pancaked. One even looks like someone used shipping tape to seal the end back up. I guess that's why Amazon and Target doesn't sell cars. They'd put them in a gigantic bubble mailer and stack them three high in a semitruck and deliver them upside down on your driveway. Then you'd open it up and find the odometer had 15000 miles on it, an amazon warehouse deal sticker on the license plate, and a strong smell of air freshener even though you bought it as "new". And when you call up customer service to complain, they offer you 20% off because that model is now out of stock.4 points

If I were in your shoes, I would sell it right away...mainly because you won't be building it anytime soon. You can buy it back later when it's readily in stock and pocket the profits.2 points

According to my conversations with FedEx on this, you need to report actual weight when you pack and ship. So the (complicated!) procedure is: 1. Buy on Ebay based on actual weight 2. Calculate the Ebay rate for Dimensional Weight 3. In your cost administration, record the Dimensional Weight price 4. When the monthly EBay invoice comes, check if what rate you were charged, and adjust where necessary. All this could be soooo much easier if EBay just calculated Dim Weight in their shipping tool2 points

So I just got this message.... this is for a funko pop. Hello, My name is %^%$%^ and I LOVE this so much and been wanting it really bad! Would you please please please kindly be willing to donate one to me please? I have a TBI & brain injury and am often in a wheelchair because my legs are really messed up. I also have PTSD, Panic Attacks, Major Depression, Night Terrors, Lymphedema, Lung and rib cage trauma from broken ribs that punctured my left lung. I died and even left my body when I was 5 years old. I don't have any money and I live on disability income. After rent, utilities, gas, petcare, and necessities, I am broke. In Fact my Mom has to pay my cable and phone because I can't even afford that with my disability. We have a few cats that have special needs. One was hit by a car before we adopted her. We noticed her tail wasn't working when we got her home. She just dragged it and she had a limp. They didn't expect her to live this long. She is 14 and still kicking. I would appreciate it greatly and would really mean the world to me. Thank you for your time. Please keep safe. Kindest Regards,2 points

Sorry that its dead to you, but hopefully you will come back one day. I am sorry that it is taking time, but that is what it is, time. I am busy in my work world and don't really have the time or energy to work on the site during the week, so most of my work is during my weekend evenings. Is that really a crime, I sure hope not. There is life, work, family and BrickPicker. I am doing what I can, when I can and sorry that it may not be good enough for you. I do hope you can understand.2 points

This happened about 5 years ago. You used to be able to buy in store at Target as a tax exempt reseller, etc - Then the Lilly Pullitzer thing happened, and they reversed course. "LIMITATIONS ON QUANTITY Target does not offer additional discounts on large orders of a single item or on large orders of many individual items. In addition, we reserve the right to limit quantities on orders placed by the same account, on orders placed by the same credit card, and on orders that use the same billing or shipping address. We will notify you if such limits are applied. Target reserves the right to prohibit purchases of any merchandise to resellers. Resellers are defined as a company or an individual that purchases goods with the intention of selling them rather than using them." Personally I try to keep a low profile wherever I am shopping. I don't bring up multiple carts of stuff. If I go for a 2nd wave, I go to a different cashier, or use self checkout, etc. I like to avoid attention not just from stores, but from other customers as well. Why inspire or motivate people. "Are those on sale?!" I also don't make this 10k online orders like some of you guys do. Other than Target, the only store I've ever had an issue with was K-mart. But that um, has become less of a concern as the years have rolled by, :chuckle:.1 point

Since the movie got pushed back almost a full year I am guessing that the sets will get pushed back as well.1 point

Nice, that looks good, its been one that I've thought about starting a hunt for but haven't, may need to now! I was starting to enter my brief dark age around the time Vikings came out and only had a couple of the smallest sets. I pieced together the ship from two bulk lots last year, but now I may need to secure a home for Crew! I'd love to see a new Viking line using the parts from the new Viking CMF, that's a great looking mini figure!1 point

I've never sold a empty lego box, but I did once sell a empty Nintendo64 box with original booklets, all the way to Australia lol. I just sent it built inside another box. However, this only made sense as I got something ridiculous for it (I think it was like £30 or £40). Unless set is a big rare set or vintage, I dont think the average box will go for much, but then again I never expected someone would buy a N64 box, I just searched for ebay prices before I almost chucked it in the bin.1 point

Yep -- discovered this first-hand a few days ago. Catch-all for "not supplying to resellers" or something like that. Which makes me wonder. Anyone who has every tried to become a seller of products these days will find that going through standard distributors is usually more expensive that going through Amazon, Target, and Walmart. The little guy just doesn't have the buying power. If these companies start taking a hard stance that they won't sell to resellers, then I expect they will be opening themselves up to some anti-competitive lawsuits. Amazon has their business accounts, but I don't think Target or Walmart has anything similar. Of course, they'll just say we are always welcome to come to their store, but they don't carry every big set in store.1 point

So, anyone here regret selling their Haunted House already? I still got mine, unopened and sealed. I got no room to build it right now and I'm moving soon so it'll probably be produced in the next year. I was going to put it online yesterday but it's so pretty and shiny and I can't bring myself to. It just screams "NOOOOO! DON'T LET ME GO!!!!" Also, I need stop going to bed at 1 AM.1 point

One from Target and one from Amazon. Kept the Target one to do with the kids. Amazon let me keep the detergent but wanted the LEGO set back! I wish I had taken a picture of another set from Amazon. It came with a huge ripped off rectangle on the front of the box. Clearly a returned set that had a previous shipping label on the front that was traced with a razor blade and then peeled the artwork off the box with it -- leaving some thin bare cardboard. When I opened it, I thought I must have ordered it from Amazon Warehouse by mistake. Nope! "Back you go to waits for a woman of less-descriminatin' tastes"1 point

I've been working on a strategy similar to this but found the amount of IP and VPN switching to be quite cumbersome. I went a different route and started putting together an application to track sales and pricing data on Amazon. It should be able to pull multiple data points on every Lego set a day. I plan on using it track set popularity over time and understand how frequently sets go out of stock, use it to monitor prices and available quantities (from other sellers) of sets i'm interested in selling. I don't have a lot of experience with web crawlers but once I finish up the Amazon application I was going to work on something like you mentioned above. I have a partially working email scrapper that grabs all my receipts and puts them in a database to make inventory intake much easier. I have a lot to finish up but I plan on automating some of the tedious portions of the job by the end of the year.1 point

Picked up a Creator Roller Coaster on Amazon for $290 using built up rewards points. Glad I didn't fall for the FOMO on this one. Fairground construction begins in 1 week as Carousel and Ferris Wheel get moved from their storage and this and Mixer get built. Also have the little Rocket Ride set to add to it. Light kits will need to be purchased as well if anyone has recommendations on those.1 point

I don’t think there are bots so much as there are other issues at play. Namely, Amazon has no limits on LEGO as far as I can tell. Folks are buying everything they can we something goes in stock. Target has relaxed limits as well. Many restocks are only one or two at a time. So you are racing against others for the sole item. And by the time you know about it, it could have been available to others for awhile. Years ago I had an auto-purchase script that I built myself to purchase — quite unfortunately — pet shops at RRP when they were retiring. It worked fine, but eventually Amazon found a way to break it. I haven’t bothered with it since. I’ve also dabbled with scripts that would alert you to web page changes. If set up to just poll a handful of pages fairly often (every minute for example) you can catch most items but you have to be ready when the alert goes off. The big in stock tracker sites are monitoring about once every ten minutes. When you get an alert from them, it’s a rat race! Lastly, I have been up working late more often the past few weeks. You can definitely get sets a lot easier at 3AM than 3PM. Which tells me the auto buy bots are not running since they don’t sleep. So, set up some page monitors, have your credit card info pre-programmed and amazon buy it now set up, Fire up your favorite game or queue up some movies, and see what you can score over night!1 point

Over ~8 years of selling, having a micropayments account probably saved me several thousand dollars in fees. It's a bit of a pain to set up with PayPal (you have to open a second account then call them to switch it to micro), but both BL and BO platforms support the alternate payment account for totals <~$12 so once its done you never have to think about it.1 point

Lots of small orders. Paypal's $0.40 minimum is 10% of a $4 total shipped order. FYIW. For the last 7 years I’ve had $10 minimum order no lot limits and charge commercial base rate + $0.60 first class +$0.30 priority. ive had no complaints about price of shipping nor, other than once or twice per year, the minimum order. The small extra charge covers packaging materials, labels etc and the PayPal per transaction fee. most often that price is lower than counter price.1 point

when I think of it.. it might be quite a nice new feature of this portal.. as bricklink records sets dimensions, weight etc.. why not have here a dbase of factory packagings? It would require just a very simply form and everyone from his / her territory could contribute with the values.. given that there are less than 30 different box sizes, even if that particular set packaging is still not in the dbase, the system could suggest that this set has the same dimensions as XX and that was previously distribued by 4 /6 per box.1 point
