I'm positive this is in the wrong forum. But I have no recommendations for where it belongs.8 points

I still, after these years of selling, don't comprehend what drives people to spend $200 on a set on Amazon that they could have paid $100 for on Ebay. Not hating though, congrats on the sale! have you read the Fruitcakes thread? there are many out there that still think Ebay is an online flea market and Amazon is equivalent to Walmart (when it can be the opposite in reality)3 points

You most definitely would benefit from setting up your BIN auctions with Immediate Payment Required.3 points

I was contacting LEGO about something else and the conversation was going so well I asked if they would ever release any more promo codes for the 75522 mini boost droid commander GONK polybag. The kind fellow checked and said they had a few in stock (wow!) so he would send one to me for the equivalent amount of VIP points! So I "bought" 75522 today. I felt like a kid again... getting super excited over a bag of plastic parts with a few silly droids in it... I think I may have to open it.3 points

I just got a notice that I was able to keep the $400+ dollars because I was protected under Seller Protection. Out of my hands now!2 points

Thanks to this forum my FOMO trio is now complete. Diner arrived from AMZ today, Treehouse from LEGO just shipped, and I have an Upside Down on backorder from LEGO as well. I normally chase EOL deals on big sets like these, but who knows what the future holds for these sets. At the very least, now my wife won't have to hear any more "The Stranger Thing set came back into stock briefly on AMZ again today but I missed it..." complaints! In other, but very much related news, I just dropped off an FBA shipment at UPS...2 points

IF refund requests come, we will address it at that time. The majority of people want something, click, and forget. They are not looking and scouting for deals like us. They have a “need” for a gift. Gift received. Gift given. In most cases. Prices may dip as some realize they have too much stock. But we feel patience will be rewarded, esp Q4 this year. High end sets almost always have higher demand during this time, and this could be a banner year. Good luck to all.2 points

You get the Hotrod promo with purchase. Because the main set (Stranger Things) is on backorder and may not ever ship (it probably will), you can order a small item (Tears of Batman) that currently is in stock, to ensure you get the Hotrod promo.2 points

I still, after these years of selling, don't comprehend what drives people to spend $200 on a set on Amazon that they could have paid $100 for on Ebay. Not hating though, congrats on the sale! I don't know either but I'm not complaining. For the basic shopper who doesn't look around. I would say they view ebay as a garage sale and you don't know what you are going to get and what level of customer service. Random grandma and pa know that Amazon is reliable and they can just call customer service immediately for help. Who really knows?1 point

Sure enough 15 minutes after posting I got a sale, and for a recent purchase on my part at that. Praise Bezos.1 point

Not officially, but that's a great idea. 9 times out of 10 I've experienced this I've been able to save my hide by the sheer fact that it was a late night purchase I couldn't get around to until the morning. These people often buy a ton of things at once... So if eBay is going to catch it they'll do it soon. I've even had a couple of close calls where I was able to actually go to the post office or UPS and grab my package. I like your idea, I think I'm going to do something like that for anything over $300. I also make a point to look very closely at profiles who purchase these things... If they've been consistently buying things and have great feedback I usually don't worry about it. It's the ones who make a large purchase after months or years, despite a good profile, that you can usually be suspicious of. And of course the new accounts.1 point

So since fraudulent rate for high priced purchases are so high, I am contemplating to hold off shipping a high priced item for at least a day in case that "unauthorized purchase" notice gets sent few hours after purchase. Do any of you have such practice as well?1 point

Drop-shipping. The thief will use a hacked account as the middle-man between income and fulfillment. Buyer buys from Hacker. Hacker drop-ships from a Brickpicker using hacked account, who ships to Buyer. Buyer gets product. Hacker keeps Buyer's $$$. If the hack isn't noticed, the hacked account loses. If the Hacked account notices the fraud and files a charge back, the Brickpicker loses. Depending on the nature of the hack, sometimes the platform will cover the fraud. To the Brickpicker, it's almost impossible to tell the difference between gift orders, normal drop-shippers, and drop-ship fraud.1 point

Not on Amazon, but I did have several error codes shipping via USPS on PayPal for one eBay order and one BrickLink order. Two separate codes I looked up that made no sense (one was related to Canada post, I only ship domestic) the other was related to expired CC cards, which also made no sense because I was using my PayPal balance. I ended up waiting 20 minutes and was able to buy shipping.1 point

I think a lot of people are trying to avoid the FOMO of these sets not being available at all. The supply is really feast or famine right now. I don't think it's a good investment per se, but if you have been holding out and want one for your personal collection, the difference in price between now and what it might be later is negligible. No real difference between Amazon or Walmart, other than some people might have 5% cash back from either place on their credit card.1 point

Got a Treehouse from Amazon the other day, delivered already. Saw Stranger Things on Target last night and jumped on it, nice to get that 5% off. Just ordered a Diner from SaH for delivery around July 2, maybe they are expecting a shipment from Mexico then (fingers crossed). My wife's getting nervous, but is nevertheless supportive, just pissed I haven't gotten her the bookshop yet.1 point

Cheapest i see is 409$ for assembly square, checked other sellers and it goes even higher. Odd that it looks like its for sale from amazon for that inflated price.1 point

sounds like buyer used CC funded Paypal payment and then disputed the charge to their CC company. CC companies typically automatically take the side of the card holder and the burden of proof lies w/ the vendor/seller..CC companies are big entities so they have a lot of clout. This might be a credit fraud case if the cardholder truly did not make the original purchase. I would think if you have proof of delivery to the address held by the card holder then you should be golden. Any other address then it could get messy.1 point
