I'm saying it. Not true, troll posts.6 points

0 post new user posts the same info 3 times in 3 different threads without a link to a source. Not saying it can't be true, but I for one need to see more proof than unsubstantiated rumors.5 points

Of course you should reply. And then post the entire conversation here so we can be entertained. Thanks.5 points

Sounds like someone missed out big on exclusives and is trying to get someone to bite and cause a price crash. There is nothing source wise out there for this... I've checked all the regular spots. He can't even get the numbers right in each thread. Sorry man, you snooze you lose.4 points

It's crazy that we live in a world where people can't handle their feelings and emotions so companies feel the need to do this. I understand if someone is upset by what's going on in the world, but to find toys, that have been on the shelves for years, suddenly offensive is overreaction at its finest.4 points

Thankfully I came out pretty unscathed for a situation like this. I wasn't even going to reply but I wanted to see if I could make you guys laugh. Unfortunately there was nothing super funny about this guy... Just someone who had way too much time on his hands to harass all of the haunted house sellers except you Terry haha. I found it funny that he was " trying to get through to someone ", I can't see how his initial message would ever achieve that end. If you're going to go that route, at least be nice and beg appropriately with a nice sob story. Anyways, thanks for the fruitcake fun today. The title of this thread always gives me a chuckle!3 points

What are you talking about? Before today, was LEGO linked in any way to whats going on? No? Well they are now.3 points

Dude it's nuts.... I'm combing over my entire USED personal collection to make sure I'm not sitting on any other crazy gold ingots. Clone AV-7 tank cannon... sold $125 75019 AT-TE... $225 Zeb minifig from Rebels... $65 And one that I took down because I love it too much even though there is a UCS version being released next year: declined offer of $412 for the 75021 Gunship I urge all of you to take a second look, especially Clone Wars, at all of your used sets collecting dust. This may be the best time in years to offload the ones you don't love.2 points

I have a few sets I'd love to sell at 10% higher than retail plus shipping!2 points
-
I had someone message me asking if I would take less for a set than what I was asking. I did what I normally do, check their location for shipping purposes, verify the going rates and decide if I want to entertain their offer or send them something in the middle. In this case I realized I was running about $25 low of where I should have been. I adjusted my price up and politely replied that the listing price was the best I could do. Sold it a couple days later to a different buyer for the higher price. So today, I salute you random low ball offer guy.2 points

What they said : “We requested that our affiliate partners refrain from posting promotional LEGO content as part of our decision to respect #BlackOutTuesday and pause posting content on our social media channels in response to the tragic events in the US. We regret any misunderstanding and will ensure that we are clearer about our intentions in the future.” This makes little sense and does not match with the original email listing only a certain number of City Police and Fire. Either the source was lying and doctored the original email listing the sets or LEGO screwed up royally and is trying to cover their butt.2 points

Just replied with an enlarged picture showing the 18+ designation and add a Trump “No” meme and you’re good to go... Just replied with an enlarged picture showing the 18+ designation and add a Trump “No” meme and you’re good to go...2 points

from a Lego PR perspective, reminds me of the Jabba's Palace stance. obviously, a more serious social topic though.1 point

Well, if this one is still planned for summer release, then I can’t imagine police sets are being pulled. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/attack-on-the-burrow-75980 Although they might rename it to “Heartlake Target Store” or make it a Creator 3-in-1 that can be built as an Auto parts store, liquor store, or church.1 point

I once got a message from a novice flipper on FB Marketplace who was trying to grind me down on my "already reasonable" price. He encouraged me to be a "Good Lego Person" and sell the set at his offer price. For some reason, I found that comment to be particularly offensive. I passed, without a reply.1 point
-
He did make me laugh when he said sellers should sell the set for $275 plus shipping...10-percent margin and all that.1 point

Lol, this whole thing smelled like overreacting and or panicking PR exec trying to manage potential (imaginary?) fire. LEGO unnecessarily put their brand in the crossfire and (in my opinion) will get flacks from people who actually want to see those sets removed from their catalogs permanently...1 point

I'm a complete piece of **** to people like that. Then I block them before they can respond. But I'm an immature anger filled child monster. So that's just me...1 point

I'm sure some people will applaud this, some will decry it, and some will just shrug or roll their eyes. In the end, it's not going to significantly impact their business one way or the other.1 point

In a country with so many problems right now, this person has taken on the issue of the reselling of a specific Lego set.1 point
-
First course of action is to block that account from buying anything from you so they don't try to get back at you by purchasing and returning your stuff. Then reply back with what phil said. While I wasn't brave enough to send back the close-up of the 18+ and a "NO" Trump meme, arguably the best response for a situation like this, I did give the guy a sensible reply. Against my better judgement I might add, as usually these people can't be reasoned with. I blocked him just in case, of course, per your suggestions. His reply to my message tells me how little the average buyer knows about what it costs to resell.... I understand his frustration and it does have me thinking twice and scooping up new releases. It is certainly the "ugliest" side of reselling. I gave him an even calmer reply and explained that $325 would roughly be the typical reseller's break-even sale price.1 point

A bunch of roller coasters on Amazon at RRP at the moment. This comes on the heels of Assembly Square, the Corner Garage, and the Treehouse being in stock tonight with at least a few dozen each. A good night to be up working late1 point

Lego has always had personal convictions about not producing sets that mimic real violence. Fantasy violence--they're fine with, but tanks and other military equipment not so much. I have fond memories playing with many of the first responder City sets as a kid so I do hope this is only temporary. I have wondered how they were going to respond to police forces being allocated tons of surplus military vehicles over the past decade and if/when this would ever be represented. I guess that's a big no.1 point

lol - i guess this is one set that may be safe from a remake .1 point

I don't think a company trying to stay out of the limelight is ridiculous. They are not taking a side either way. They're just going to lay low for a bit while the situation plays itself out.1 point
-
Exactly. I personally find it all terribly saddening. If you hold any kind of individual opinion you are suddenly either a racist, not woke, or a variety of other terrible things. Prevents any relevant discussion from actually happening, and as a result will prevent and meaningful improvements from actually occurring.1 point
-
This whole situation is EXTREMELY unfortunate. Looters who are taking advantage of protesting a just cause, are doing nothing but harming this situation. Lego doesn't want to seem insensitive to the situation (ie: still wants to keep making money and not hurt any feelings) and as a whole those sets typically have discounts associated with them (City) and they don't want to be seen as having a side in the situation. Right now people are looking for anything to grasp at as being one side or another. It's hard to even explain a gray area any more, no one will allow you the time to express your views. Its A or B.1 point

Also think it would be good to have an update. Issue first would took days, then more like weeks and now several months have passed. Appreciate the brickfolio and all the effort you are putting in it but an update would be great so we can have an idea how to cope with it in the meantime, create a seperate excel, keep new sets seperate, etc.1 point

Yes, I’ve sold the 3 that I bought at retail 5+ years ago. Not a lot of profit but some. Glad to be rid of them. It’s a good feeling when you get bailed out on a dumb buying decision.1 point
