  2. I haven't built a Technic set in a looong time. got this one to try out in hopes it would hold my Ferrari and such... success:) Impressive build for sure. As fun as it is to build it actually felt like I was building with a different medium. Again, quite fun BUT think after i finish the trailer, Ill stick to modular, spaceships and more classic build structures incorporating gears and motors when needed.

  6. Safest way to move them is to break them down into pieces, a few ziploc bags per set, and dump 'em all in a big tote, then let the movers move them. As long as you label the bags correctly and have manuals, you are fine. Plus you get to build all your sets again when you get settled!

  7. 75158 Rebel Combat Frigate NISB. $250 +ship I bit the bullet...Ahsoka is ON FIRE...even the Hasbro Black Series figure pre-order sold out in 5 hours...(she's the only one to do so). I'm only in 2nd season of Clone Wars but just the idea of her facing off with Darth Vader later ...gives me chills in terms of an epic story-line I also got the Umbaran MHC (75013) NISB..big walking canon thingy which has her 2nd most exclusive MF...$119 plus ship I think I'm doing this reseller thing wrong

  25. Shipping has been super quick to me (in NYC). I've had two larger Technic sets come in LEGO outer boxes, and a BOOST Star Wars in cardboard wrap that was fine. But the London Bus I got a couple weeks ago was just in black plastic wrap. It's in pretty good shape considering (corners a little rounded but nothing major), but then again it had a pretty short route from Zavvi to my door.

  26. yeah, if ZAVVI is like IWOOT (US or UK, or whatever the Hut Group calls themselves now)...have now order about 10 big sets ($100+) no complaints but I have had pre-orders cancelled so that's annoying

  28. I've ordered multiple things from them over the past two months. Usually receive the item in 4-5 business days (order today and get it next Thursday or Friday.) I'd say packing has been good on probably 7 of the 8 items I ordered. One (that giant excavator) was a little banged up but the smaller sets arrived just fine. One was in a box that fit exactly to the set. As always, YMMV.

  29. Same here, had a bad experience. You not only have to predict whether a stock's going down or up, but the exact time range it's gonna do that. I'll pass.

  30. I dabbled in options back during the tech bubble and had my a$$ handed to me. I was new and had just passed my series 7, so I had a lot of learning to do. My buddy swears by options and does well. Good days and bad days but more good than bad. I'm older now and much more risk adverse. While I'd like to play around with options, I don't think I have the stomach for it.

  31. I 100 % agree with you on the Disney Castle..it dont get why more people do not have this opinion.I think it is their flagship Set, their Signature Set. I guess it will be more like the T1 and than after 12 Years it will taj mahal its way back with some little changes...

  32. They don’t know if the antibodies last for longer than a handful of months and the traditional flu mixed with Covid combined with a stir crazy population is going to be hell. One issue that I think may impact buyers is how uncertain white collar folks feel about their job security going forward. Some people are hitting up vacation spots like usual, but most of the people I know are hunkering down this summer. Part of it is fear of the virus the other part is wanting to save cash in case someone gets laid off. Wall Street doesn’t seem to care about this and is acting like a werewolf on cocaine but I’m not betting on real people following.

  33. I'm in agreement with this line of thinking. The quarantine wiped out a ton of big set inventory, and there are several catalysts that have recently increased interest in sets like modulars. How Lego will ultimately get back to normal is still a big unknown. I'm betting on continued price increases over the next 3 years. And even when I'm wrong, Lego is still a fun buy and hold investment. But I wouldn't mind if that last Pirate's Chess Set found a buyer.

  36. So I just watched CaptainSparklez latest video with opening a Minecraft Dungeons loot chest sent to him from Microsoft and at about 2:42, he opens a small box done up like a slab of sand from the game with some "keys" inside. Immediately I knew what they were. Minecraft Dungeons game codes. Now he did not reveal any of them here, however he did say that he may randomly show some in his upcoming Dungeons videos. Also notice how after he opens the crate around 1:24, the image says 24/100. I would imagine a hundred of these were made and given out to various YouTubers and streamers so anyone wanting to give this game a try might want to start looking for "let's plays" as they are uploaded for a chance.

  38. I would produce all the high demand out of stock as obviously there is demand. Then I would delay and cut the number of new sets to a minimum until things improve. Why retire sets that people and resellers want? All you need to do is produce them. Makes sense to restart production with preexisting molds.

  39. Between both BL and Ebay, anything new that I put up, sells. I have sold out of VW Vans and down to my last Sydney Opera House and have been raising prices on them. I couldn't give away T1's on FB a few months ago. I'm seeing parts of my storage room that I haven't seen in years.

  42. Here in Europe it is interesting times. My ebay sales ,are nearly at pre-xmas levels in terms of intensity, and I have been thankful to get rid of a few pieces of inventory that have been hanging around for a while. The May 4th promo , was the worst I have seen in terms of LEGO inventory in the UK for such a large event. No reduction on the usual sets - X-wing etc , but the poorer selling lines they need to get rid of, and coming-up to retirement. Even the GWP Death Star II sold out by Saturday evening here, where you can usually pick one up on last day of promo on most events. Other online retailers - Amazon etc are being less generous in terms of set discounts to protect margin. Even supermarkets which used to be a good hunting ground for EOL or mid season range reductions are selling most sets at full price. One wonders if even LEGO group, is now struggling to maintain its inventory, with supplier closures and delays in production, which must hit them at some point even if its for the raw material they use. The true measure to my business in these difficult times, will be late June and July, when I am expecting a dip in sales mainly from running out of some inventory. Those who have been furloughed will return to work, perhaps with an uncertain future in some industries, and watching the purse strings a little more closely. Despite being at home during the past 6 weeks, they may be a little less reluctant to spend out on 'boredom relief'. Its going to be a while , before all the World economies have adjusted to the new 'norm' in everything .Hopefully, it will recover enough by Xmas to be able to take advantage of a good Q4.

  44. Hi All, I am almost 40 yrs old and started getting back into lego in the last year or so. I have an ok collection, mostly Star Wars and various Cars but also a few other sets I thought were interesting. Some are built some are still in the box. For a while now I have just been purchasing sets I thought were cool (and at a decent price) without looking at other criteria, but after looking at some of these forums there seems to be more science to what type of sets have higher upside. I clearly understand the power of purchasing sets on the cheap, however I typically find many of these sets I have zero interest in are the ones that are on sale. And a part of me says these type sets are on sale for a reason. I'd love to get people's thoughts on why they buy what they buy or certain things they look for in a investment set? Also from a selling standpoint what's the best way to maximizing sale value of sets which are NOT new in box? Do you all consider used sets in bulk, and trying to put them together into sets for resale? Or is it just better to part out? Also any insight on the best ways to sell minifigs would be helpful. Sorry if this is a lot of questions but these are the things i'd love to pick the groups brain on? I hope everyone is healthy and safe and I appreciate any insight.

  45. Hi, I registered for the site a few months ago, and I've enjoyed reading through a bunch of the forums...this seems like a really fun and collegial group of folks. I've dipped my toe in the sales water recently, and like many of you, have found that everything is selling pretty great at the moment. I'm a mom of 3 based in the Midwest, and like most of you, I'm itching to get back out and bargain hunt to replenish my stock. Looking forward to learning from everyone and hopefully having some successes that I can share as well. Stay safe and healthy!

  46. Hey, I'm new to your site. I have started collecting legos the last year. I've mainly bought the Creator Expert series as well as some other exclusive sets like the Disney Castle, Harry Potter castle and Batmobile. My simple questions is this: How do I best use the site? How can I best choose the lego sets to invest in? What information do you provide. I was reading some articles online and they said that this site was good in that it projected ROI much like stocks. How do I find out how well the sets I've purchased are doing. Thanks for your time. I'm excited to be a contributing member of your site. Thanks, Chris
