  5. Sold a Palace Cinema (open box, sealed bags) - the seals had stretched so I just opened it up lest anyone think it had been tampered with. Buy in $95, sold for $305 + shipping. My best was a lot of sealed bags I purchased for $20 ended up being a Brick Bank + one extra sealed bag for a Ninjago Movie Strider set. I purchased a new instructions + I had a new tan base plate ($5). So for roughly $30 invested I sold it new, sealed bags, no box for $345 + shipping.

  9. Just so you know, returning unsold items to the store you bought them from is frowned upon on here as unethical. Noted, thanks for the succinct call outs my friends. Truly I mean this, thank you. I don't have a history of it (I live far from stores so returning is a hassle), but now that you all have me thinking about it it does seem questionable. I will certainly take your reminders to heart and not return things just because I couldn't get a good flip. Besides... majority of the time if you sit on it long enough it garners enough value anyways. I will, however, hold Target and other companies accountable to delivering a quality product especially when it comes to the 16/18+ LEGO market, where box condition and collectible valuable is influenced by such.

  11. I want to update you all as we are still getting some messages. Series 20 is in stock now. Due to a great response for the series, our stock is low. However, we will still offer a small discount to members if you contact us directly. Current box price is 259 on our website. It may change again, so I will refrain from listing a price, but we will always offer some discount to members if you contact us.

  13. Materials guide for LEGO selling & shipping Many members have asked for a centralized place where they can go for shipping box information. I'm going to pin this post and update it as new information is provided. I just want to take a few minutes and thank those who wrote the following articles. They are still very good reference materials for the LEGO storage and shipping process. I may develop this into a blog article eventually. 16. After reading this post, I took a look at the status of my sold items, and I currently have 7 that are behind their targeted arrival dates. No buyers have said anything yet, but I did reach out to a couple of people who have been waiting longest to let them know when I shipped and to review their tracking number with them to keep up to date with the status of the package.

  17. eBay+PayPal and Amazon fees are high +/-15% and 17% bricklink and BrickOwl are 3% + PayPal sales prices are higher on eBay and Amazon amazon fix shipping fees, eBay you charge a set fee nationwide, not good if you ship one coast to the other. brickowl and BrickLink allow for zonal shipping pricing. sales probably quicker on eBay and Amazon as long as you price to sell Great screen name! do I detect another mopar lover?

  19. I just don't see the Community set having enough widespread appeal for LEGO to take it on like the Big Bang or Friends sets. That windmill is awesome. With Elves gone, I'd really love to see a line that focuses on fantasy/medieval settings that aren't strictly "knights/castle." I know the creator of the windmill set also submitted a Legend of Zelda set, and that is right in line with what I am picturing.

  20. Article on Brickset talking about the motorization of the Haunted House. Curious why it needs two motors. I'm wondering if one lifts the cart to the top while the other winds up the flywheels, somehow providing resistance on the way down. That's my best guess. Others were speculating that one motor was for the chain system while one was for the door but someone else said it looked like a door latch was used and that one motor should be controlling both the chain and door latch. Anyone here have ideas why/how two motors are required? https://brickset.com/article/51367/motorising-the-haunted-house

  24. The guy who lived here before apparently had a bunch of miniature dioramas, so the areas arrange from anywhere from 3ft deep to 10" deep in some shelves. But all the heights are no higher than 17". We share the space for storage and its essentially the kids play area. The other half of the basement is conditioned, but unfinished and where I currently keep my unbuilt collection. My ultimate goal is to have that area be the Lego room.

  25. The Big Hogwarts set. I know there are a few sitting in my local store and I'm going to hit it day one when they reopen. The upside down Stranger Things set is another one, but I can live without it. I was able to get a roller coaster ordered before it went oos. But I won't see it until Aug.... hopefully. Oh, forgot about the Tree House. I need one of those.

  29. This day and age, what goes on the background of video chats has become a big deal. For professionals they are for sure giving it a lot of consideration as backgrounds has become a thing. Her choosing LEGOs (hers or son's) still highlights the image that LEGO is both high-end and desirable. "Normal" won't happen for at least a year or two...if at all. 35. The bigger the set, the more pieces that it needs, the harder it may be to fill the complete list. We know LEGO makes individual pieces in batches (not per set); a unique piece batch may be held off until the more common ones get made. Also the bigger the set the smaller the target buyer size. These two factors based on supply chain and down economy suggests that the big sets are more attractive for LEGO to retire early...and the ones that have no licensing constraints even more so. Just my thoughts based on my limited understanding. I have no insider info.

  36. Wife wanted a home office and the only option was our garden shed out back. Took about three weeks. Had to install three new larger windows, new subfloor, reframed the door and installed a new one, trenched and buried electrical 75ft, new 20 amp breaker in the panel wired, vapor barrier, insulation, wood tongue and groove pine, installed a screen door. Likely do plywood planks for the floor tomorrow. All told about $1000 w a small window A/C unit. It’s only about 70 sqft so not much of a chance for multi use space. It was her Mother’s Day/ birthday gift. She keeps calling it our Covid Cabin.

  37. So here is what I have been working on this quarantine. Before: After: Needs a bit of trim and some paint. Everything is easily removable so it can switch back to being a clothes closet. Stores the same amount of LEGO as before. Not visible are the left and right alcoves (about 2ftx2ft each) that contain more boxes and storage. Can't wait to start using it!

  40. I'd never buy a set like this new unless the price was right. I previously had a sealed 10185 that I got for £300 (I believe I posted that in the 'what set did you buy today' thread in about 2017). I decided that I couldn't justify opening it to build, so I sold it early last year for £840 so I could buy a used one and pocket the difference. The very same month, I was able to get this version for the price of a used set from an eBay auction, thanks to the seller labelling it as used rather than new.
