  1. Rebuilt my 21303 Wall-E yesterday. Some of you might remember I motorized it back in 2015 with Power Functions w/ decent success. I posted pics in our Wall-E thread long ago. I built it with the original neck design and then the Lego fix. I don’t notice much improvement. I did purchase the Chris McVeigh fix in Sept. 2015 so maybe that will be tried next.

  4. It’s a shame because I am much more into mini modulars because of space. I bought 10230 after retirement because I was still in dark ages when it came out. I paired it with 40289 Diagon Alley for a mini town scene I’m working on.

  8. I rarely ever use bubble wrap, only on sets where I know for a fact the customer is wanting perfect boxes... ie LM2 brickheadz and one Vader bust bust the buyer messaged me about box condition. If I use anything I prefer brown paper as it has more give than bubble wrap. But most of the time I just ship in the right size box and I have never heard a word back about box condition.

  9. I hate heavy duty tape, I use this or similar. https://www.ebay.com/itm/372801986404 I also would never ship anything in a 16x12x10 box.

  10. If 1 extra ounce for the weight of paper sends my package into a new price bracket then I use one or two of the air pillows I get from buying from the online retailers. Unless it is a high value set, then I still use paper and just eat the extra cost. But for $20-$50 sets it is air pillows all day every day. its more a space issue for me, i just don't have the room for Air Pillows, I'll use them if I have them. As far as weight goes, it really only matters for staying under 16oz and I don't run into that very often. Also, I've noticed that since I switched to paper I get more comments about the quality of my shipping.

  16. Their communication is terrible. If I can handle 5 emails a day from Target trying to get me to buy Non-Lego, I can handle 1 from BL about important updates and changes. Anything they feel is good enough to make an "announcement" about, they should feel comfortable sending out an email to sellers or all users on the site too.

  19. I have yet to see any of the issues that other sellers are experiencing. The only change I have noticed is that you must be in the "pending" or "processing" status to send an invoice. Orders have remained steady throughout the transition for me.

  23. I haven't evaluated traffic, but I have noticed a large uptick in zero feedback buyers in the past couple months (normal for me during holidays, not now). Perhaps LEGO linking to Bricklink is driving those sales.

  30. In the EU it was 26-30€ during Xmas. I sold all of mine. I guess with patience you will get 35-40 on Amazon, but seller rank is really bad, so I would move on.

  31. A lot has to do with schools, distance learning. Chrome books in particular are favored by a lot of districts (some use apple), and they needed to have enough for every students who needed one (typically several classes will share the same set). Also it’s what they recommended to parents who could afford their own.

  33. Here in Europe it is interesting times. My ebay sales ,are nearly at pre-xmas levels in terms of intensity, and I have been thankful to get rid of a few pieces of inventory that have been hanging around for a while. The May 4th promo , was the worst I have seen in terms of LEGO inventory in the UK for such a large event. No reduction on the usual sets - X-wing etc , but the poorer selling lines they need to get rid of, and coming-up to retirement. Even the GWP Death Star II sold out by Saturday evening here, where you can usually pick one up on last day of promo on most events. Other online retailers - Amazon etc are being less generous in terms of set discounts to protect margin. Even supermarkets which used to be a good hunting ground for EOL or mid season range reductions are selling most sets at full price. One wonders if even LEGO group, is now struggling to maintain its inventory, with supplier closures and delays in production, which must hit them at some point even if its for the raw material they use. The true measure to my business in these difficult times, will be late June and July, when I am expecting a dip in sales mainly from running out of some inventory. Those who have been furloughed will return to work, perhaps with an uncertain future in some industries, and watching the purse strings a little more closely. Despite being at home during the past 6 weeks, they may be a little less reluctant to spend out on 'boredom relief'. Its going to be a while , before all the World economies have adjusted to the new 'norm' in everything .Hopefully, it will recover enough by Xmas to be able to take advantage of a good Q4.

  34. Yeah, I sold a squat rack and about 400 pounds of plates for $300 in January (clearing space). Last week, I found an extra 30 pounds of plates and within five minutes, they were sold on FB for $40. He said my original sale would have gotten me well over $1,000 right now. Weights are impossible to find. (Check out prices for Bowflex adjustables)

  35. Workout equipment is the new TP. This weekend I listed some extra weights and a rowing machine on FB marketplace and the responses were fast and furious. Within an hour everything was spoken for. One guy told me that it is impossible to buy weights anywhere due to the shutdown because so many people that normally go to gyms are looking.
