  10. That might be true for some but i have been starting to buy less star wars lego. I used to get all sets released in a year but as they keep rehashing sets like the xwing and raising their price 10$ every year where they are at 90$ I am over getting them. Maybe I am in the minority but how many landspeeders do you need when they come out every 2 or 3 years and tweak a couple of parts? Millennium falcon #4 in 8 years i can just get the mini figures on brick link if i really need them which i don't.

  16. I recently had the same message from eBay selling a wall-e. Fortunately I hadn't shipped it yet so I just cancelled the shipping label. I did as eBay recommended and didn't contact the buyer or issue a refund even though the money was in my account. Eventually the buyer messaged me on PayPal saying "where's the goods?" and opened a claim for item not delivered. I escalated to PayPal to maintain eBay's recommendation to not contact or refund. Didn't hear anything so the day before the deadline for action on my part I messaged using the chat support. They didn't really know what to do either but they ended up issuing a refund manually so I wouldn't have to and assured me that it would not be double refunded. Good news is that the wall-e set went up in price $30 since that time. Hopefully you can get your set back!

  17. I just noticed something tonight while listing an item for sale on Mercari. I am new to selling on that platform so I am sure that some of you have probably already noticed this. Mercari charges 10% fees. But while building the listing if you list it as free shipping for the buyer then Mercari charges you 10% of the shipping fee as well (kinda like Ebay applies their fees to shipping costs as well). But, if you list it as buyer pays for shipping then you do NOT get charged the 10% on shipping. For example, if I sell a item for $100 and it costs $15 to ship this item nationwide (only option on Mercari) then I pay 10% of $100 to Mercari leaving me with $90 and then I pay $15 for the shipping leaving me with a take home amount of $75. However, if I list it at $85 and have the buyer pay $15 shipping then I am only charged the 10% on the $85. Leaving me with a take home amount of $76.50. Not a huge difference but one definitely worth mentioning, especially if you sell a lot on there. None of my listings on Mercari will be free shipping haha.

  22. I definitely agree with you, and I am of the belief that in general LEGO needs resellers to help clear out stock at the rate that they are churning out new sets, but I doubt they care about us right now. I expect that their sales are still very good today without us going crazy. Grab some Episode 9 sets at 20% from Amazon or at RRP with a promo and points from LEGO? I expect plenty of parents are still going the LEGO Shop at Home route if they have gone that far. We'll see if anything goes to backorder by the 4th. Still, its a middle finger to their customers to advertise a sale and then not have one. On a "sort of deals" note, there is a LEGO brick Mother's Day card promo that goes live on May 4 with a $40 purchase - if Star Wars sets and the promotion stay in stock until then that at least sweetens the deal a little bit.

  23. So did someone manage to snag this?

  24. I do agree that some sets are just plan out of stock. Current conditions are not stopping other online retailers from discounting though. If it wasn’t for online promos & store exclusive sets, I doubt many of us would I even visit their shop @ home web site . Many backordered sets are being shipped. While they might not be able to make new sets, they have a nice amount of stock likely. I’m not buying it. LEGO chooses NOT to discount. They actually think the Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Chanel authorized dealer pricing model applies to them. Funny but sad.

  26. KShine: I once had a similar issue with the Helicarrier set, and needed to know what parts were in one of the bags. (The bag was ripped open and missing parts, I bought it with no box, "sealed bags" and one bag wasn't sealed). I called Lego customer service and they were able to sell me all the parts in the exact/specific bag that I was wondering about. The only thing they wouldn't do or couldn't do was sell any minifigures that were in the bags. They said people call up and scam too much on it. I believe you could call them, and order the parts from that particular bag from them (the service rep knows what parts are in each bag). It does not come in a "sealed" bag though. It arrives just like a Bricks and Pieces order. Hope that helps.

  30. I decided to buy the Tantive IV today (despite having 10198 already) as the combo of double VIP, the mini build, £25 in VIP vouchers to redeem, and (pending) 8% cashback is a decent enough combination. Irritatingly, I've since found that there is also a mystery gift promo when paying with Paypal (not sure if this is also available in the USA). You're right though, it's pretty poor to have no discounts on sets people actually want.

  33. I was going to make the same comment. Earlier today it still advertised sales. Now, nothing. Also, when did LEGO begin limiting GWP to "One per household"? 44. So this was my project for the week. I wanted to turn the Hidden Side Shrimp Shack into a MOD. It's not as polished as many that I see but I worked with the pieces I had on hand. I only had two of those brown arches so I just used white till I find some. So if any of you guys have some in your store please send the link.
