Accessory sets are a better option for me. I have no use for anymore keychains.5 points

The LEGO Star Wars Mini Boost Droid Commander (75522) set is now available for VIPs in the LEGO Reward Center5 points

That's BS to use VIP points to get a code to then have to order something to get the promo... should be able to spend VIP points and get the promo shipped free right then and there. I already spent money to get the points in the first place. Lego has more hoops than before.3 points

I had enough points for two of them, was planning to get the busts for personal build anyways. Already listed the promos on eBay, hopefully they ship and I can quick flip them without any hold time. Even if they only sell for a fifth of the current going rate, that’s better than the $20 total in VIP points.2 points

When in doubt, always order a keychain. I've been burned in the past. I learned my lesson: always buy a small item that's in stock (if you're also ordering something that is B/O or preorder).2 points

My strategy is: - Make a wishlist of all the parts you need (in BL, BO or BrickStock) and their correct quantities - Transfer the wishlist to Excel, and give it 3 columns: Price on BL, Price on Pick-a-Brick, Price on Bricks & Pieces - Go to BL and use the wishlist to look up a vendor who has all (or most) of the pieces in the quantity you need for a non-absurd price. Make note of their shipping cost - Go item by item, and using the part number, look the item up in B&P and PaB - Put all prices in the spreadsheet - Repeat if necessary for other vendors and/or combinations of vendors - once done, compare prices line by line. You will find that some pieces are cheaper on B&P than at BL (when bought in quantity), and in some (rarer) cases on Pick-a-Brick (e.g. Plant leaves are about 1/2 the price on B&P last time I checked) - now go through line by line and mark where you can buy each piece the cheapest. If prices are equal or close (e.g. $0.01-0.02 difference) mark multiple columns in a different color. - Mark shipping costs at PaB and B&P as well ($2.95 for B&P, PaB is counted like a set purchase so free shipping for orders over $35). - Start filling your carts with the cheapest options and order. Notes: - Pick a Brick orders (used to?) count towards promos, and collect VIP points (including 2x VIP promos). You can order up to 999 of a single part here, but part selection is poor. - Bricks & Pieces orders do not count towards promos, but do collect VIP points. You can order any part here that is in a current or very recent set, but quantity is limited to 200. FINAL NOTE: With COVID-19, the B&P route has been suspended, so if you need pieces badly you most likely end up buying solely from BL. In that case, make sure you also upload your wishlist to BrickOwl - their multi-vendor buy tool is more powerful than BLs, as it includes shipping costs. Downside is that there are less sellers on BrickOwl compared to BL (people don’t seem to know about BrickSync). I have used the above strategy recently for a large Harry Potter related MOC I am working on. Got 700 Leaf (LEGO calls them Limb) elements in various sizes and colors from Pick-a-Brick for I believe $0.18/pieces - going rate on BL is $0.35-$0.40, plus qualified for the Train promo (had to throw in a small item to make the Train promo ship before it ran out).2 points

The cheapest is used pieces on bl or a cl lot if your lucky. When buying used grey pieces make sure you get consistent colors. Lego changed the grey color in 2004.2 points

I just sold my last Haunted House it has been listed for over 2 years at $449 cheap shipping because like most of these sales buyers are from NY, NJ with a few from California.2 points

Not to nitpick, but your math is a little fuzzy. 20% plus another 20% off after comes to 36% off total, not 40%. Still a good deal though, thanks for the post. Also for those looking to refi their home...now is not the time to sign up for new CC. There is a CHANCE rates may hit 3.0% (30 yr fixed confirming) or even lower in coming months; and I believe w/ all the forbearance and defaults; banks will only offer those rates to the cream of the crop borrowers.2 points

I wanted to create a new thread in order to give progress on my site updates. I want explain a bit on what happened and what I am doing. What happened with the site? Honestly nothing really exciting or dramatic, overall in the end, I did not want to support the host I was with for the past four years after not really offering too much help with managed servers. They would spend 30 seconds looking, say they can ping the server so its up and then just say, "hey not my problem". I was on aging hardware, paying the same amount of money, so I took the opportunity to move to a new host with better/faster hardware and a staff that does help to support you when run into an issue that you can't handle on your own. I have been doing this a long time and pretty good monitoring and handling 99% of what comes my way, but there are issues that you need the next level up to help figure out what to do. I wasn't getting anything like that, but paying for it. Not anymore. What my goal is... I know more than anyone that the site needed some TLC. It's been a while since I have done any drastic updates, the site looked tired and I know the site can be so much better than what it's current state was. LEGO investing has changed since Ed and I launched the site and it's time to remove the dead content and bring more of what people are looking for. Below is the short term list of items planned for updating. I have been working on the nightly, just like the early days and enjoying seeing parts of it coming to life. Fix the login. This has been messed up and quirky for a while. This has been resolved and working well. It's a simple thing overall, but nice that it actually works how it's supposed to Overall price guide site design update. The site was tired and disjointed. I hated it and pained me to look at it. Time to start over. Brickfolio update. All the Brickfolio data is safe. I have close to three million rows of data for Brickfolio entries. Time to bring this thing to 2020. I will probably create another thread at some point to solicit some feedback on some new requests for the brickfolio Fix the data syncing with Brickset. A lot of people used this feature, but it's time to make it work the way it should. Later I will work on the content portions. The news and blogs. I have some good ideas for this, but want to get the price guide and brickfolio to you sooner than later. What I am asking for if possible... If you can, please stop asking where the brickfolio is. Again, the data is safe and I am working as fast as I can to bring it all back to you. It won't be a few days, but more like a few weeks, but it will be worth it. I setup my dev environment to push releases quick and easy. I want to create a true changelog so that you can follow updates to see what was done/fixed/new/removed, you know like what real software companies do. I really do appreciate your patience with this. It wasn't planned, but if there was going to be a time to do it, it was going to be now.1 point

I wish I had a detailed answer for you, but it's "prices are better in 4th quarter - save everything for that."1 point

Interesting - do you allocate batches to certain years of future sale? Without wanting to derail this thread, I'd be really interested to hear more about this1 point

Place your order using the promo code. You can view the order in your order status page Once you complete the order. There you will see it.1 point

Dumb question I have the promo code Any amount I have so spend for it to work? Does it have to be Star Wars set? And when I add things to cart it is not showing up in my bag Thanks1 point

First, incredibly blurry, photo of the May 4th GWP (40407) has just surfaced on Instagram #legoleaks. I haven't posted it, but if it's legit I'm very impressed! It seems to include a micro TIE Interceptor & A-wing above a Death Star trench.1 point

Grabbed a code but waiting for the A-Wing. Hopefully the codes secure your poly. Thought I read that the U.K. site had already sold out of them. Should be interesting.1 point

Item doesn’t Show up in the cart for me either. I’ll wait a few hours and try again.1 point

I haven’t done this in a couple of years so I am sure others will have more up to date tips with bricklink but I know trying to minimize total number of vendors helped because of shipping. I was fortunate that at that time one of the largest Bricklink stores in America was 10 minutes from my home so I could just do free local pickup. Also try using Rebrickable for exactly what you said using existing sets in your inventory. It was always cheaper to open up 3 sets that I already had and sell the minifigures then use the parts for my build.1 point

Can’t let fear dictate your selling. No returns so far. Been selling sets on amazon for 2 years +. Good luck. EBay has been decent too just slower velocity but still good velocity1 point

The first winners of ANY game show will always be the ambassadors and this couple checked a lot of boxes. Also for folks watching the wholes series it was Characters + Technique > creativity and scale...that was a constant; that said having two judges judge without any standard is lame...at least allow a point system so the judges themselves can't out-right decide....and leave a 3rd of the points to TV audience...the judging was way too black in IMO.1 point

I just got the delayed promo texted to me for the space ride. I'll use it because I was planning on buying the big rollercoaster at RRP anyway.1 point

Got my 3 Legoland exclusives in the mail yesterday. I ordered from both CA and FL so not sure which one I got. But I'm glad I got one of the orders. Came all nice in a official Lego shipping box. 3 to the box.1 point

Instead of closing at the usual 6:30 p.m., the local UPS Store is closing an hour earlier because...everyone knows that the virus becomes more lethal after 5:30 p.m.1 point
