My 30-day sales are ahead of my December total. I'm selling stuff that I didn't think would ever sell. Benny's Spaceships for $200 T1's for $225 I even sold my Sopwith Camel, which I think is the longest hold in my inventory at close to 10 years - for $270.2 points

I expect that this has very little to do with retirements, and a lot to do with people stuck at home wanting something to do.2 points

I like it. I like it a lot. Now, if we can just get that UCS AT-AT for the 40th anniversary of ESB...2 points

Interesting to hear how things are selling. I've got a large closet/small room full of retired sets. Might be time to unload...2 points

Continuing (and finishing) my lengthy Toycentric story from page 223, I just got off the phone with PayPal's dispute department. As I've preached time and time again on here, don't let these jackholes get away with this crap. I refused to give Paypal a dime all this time, waiting in vain for a response from corporate, only to get a collections notice in the mail last week. I called those nice people and they filed it as a refusal to pay (the guy really was nice, just fulfilling a function) and suggested I wait a few days before contacting PayPal again to try and work something out. So I called and after fighting with the horrible phone tree a few minutes, got a real person, working from home. I said "Bear with me, I'm going to throw a lot of information at you" - and proceeded for about 15 minutes to give every little detail of my story. He was familiar with and despised drop shippers in general, and when it was all done said "We're just going to file an appeal on this" and went silent for a couple minutes and then said "OK, hopefully you don't run into anybody like that again." I asked how the appeal process worked, what the time frame for a decision was, etc... and he said "I took care of it... you should see the funds in your account in about 30 minutes". Damn. Customer service endures, hiding in very small pockets here and there, fighting like a guerilla strike team... ok I'm tired sorry. So once again I strongly urge you all to stand up for what you know is right. Sure some of you more business minded people may decide you don't have time for what I've done, but for the small-timers who think they have to take it lying down... nope. Just keep on fighting the good fight. eBay beat me once but I'm about 4-1 with them and now 1-0 with PayPal. And may Toycentric forever burn in reseller hell, buried in 6 trillion tons of Joker Steamrollers...2 points

I have a few hundred old built sets most without minifigs that I may even get to listing, and a lot of sets they are NIB with minifigs pulled since there are no sports on I may finally get around to them.1 point

It should be Arvel Crynyd. He's the pilot who flew his damaged A-Wing into the bridge of the Executor, which caused it to vear into the Second Death Star.1 point

could it be a reseller trying to hype up the price of "Sold" sets...all it takes is a few "solds" to re-set the market price...and the guy may be figuring to sell his units while it would take a few days to sort out1 point

Would be more interesting in the right thread. Where are the deals? Alpinemaps in quarantine?1 point

I can also echo the other users in Lego purchases from builders or normal consumer demand is at an all time high. The combination of store closings, quarantine, Amazon restrictions and Lego Masters TV show has created a perfect storm on Ebay with Many Large sets selling for $$$ and an overall increase in sales to 2 and 3 fold. Our Lego sales are way up and sales of all toys collectibles and vintage toys are all up. Most importantly prices for retired sets is going up and up.1 point

I found the finale to be a bit disappointing, and I guess I agree that I was most disappointed in Mark and Boone. I felt that they were easily the best team of the three, but their idea really failed them. It was not nearly creative enough for the finale of this show, no matte how epic in scale, or well-executed it was. Really unfortunate because, over the course of this season, they've built some great stuff that was a helluva lot more creative and fun than what they did for the finale. The peacock was by far the most eye-catching thing built in the finale, and the peacock/monkey thing, IMO, was the most creative of the three builds. For that to come in 3rd place, I'm guessing it somehow lacked in size or execution compared to the other two? Or maybe the ranking was just a reflection of a cumulative ranking, as Sam and Jessica were easily the least of those three teams over the course of the season. I will admit that I am a bit biased against Amy and Tyler, and really disappointed that they won. They are just so f'ing boring (anyone who builds Lego in a coat and tie really needs a drink - at least!), and I think that comes through in a lot of their builds. I don't find anything particularly inspired about their Eagle/Griffin and serpent thing, and outside of that, they just build 1 1/2 towers and some landscape. I'm sure it was technically well done, and the judges always mention how impressive their character creation is, but that piece was just lost on me. Maybe, with TLG being such a family-based business, the judges bought into the "parental protection" message that Amy and Tyler were peddling? I don't know...not my thing. Still, I enjoyed the season overall. I wish I had the talent to be on a show like this, and I'll watch again next year.1 point

Actually, people with less money spend a far greater percentage of their income on discretionary items. Latest shoes, phones, watches, AirPods, Starbucks morning, lunch, after work, eating out, etc.1 point

The shortage of Sets may be due to the supply chain. I really don't think its based on demand. With this Stay at home act.... Lego sales are strong. I've sold more this past month than I've ever had in previous months, including Christmas times.1 point

LEGO needs to ramp up production, LEGO is keeping kids more occupied now now more than ever.1 point

People at work know of mysite, I have probably helped more than 20 parents buy multiple sets in the past 2-3 weeks. Yes they are still working, so maybe money isn't the issue for them, but they are still buying LEGO (on sale and full retail).1 point

Overall, i guess they are just trying to hide it. All the retailers will suffer for a while for sets.1 point

Automated system is useless. Call as many times as it takes, eventually someone with sense will remove the feedback I've done it before. Like everything, huge pain in the ass. Ignore the first people who answer with their canned responses and ask for a supervisor. If they act like an ass hat repeat the next day. It works.1 point

Made a decently playable kids game this morning with my daughter and wife. You roll to get the snowballs and the buttons, arms, scarf, nose and hat. I quickly chopped some dice with a chop saw when I realized what a pain it was going to be to glue/tape the paper dice together. Pretty good for a few hours!1 point

More of a "what did you build in the past month" picture. I picked up the Grand Emporium off eBay two years ago for about $180, a bit below the usual going rate. It was advertised as mostly complete and indeed was only missing about 10 common parts (somehow I don't have spare 1x2 white slopes in my bulk so I haven't quite finished the roof yet). I wasn't terribly excited to build it but I ended up really enjoying the process and I really like the final result. It reminds me of some of the buildings my wife and I saw when we traveled to Europe that summer. The Troll Warship was sort of an impulse buy. I've always wanted it (The Green Dragon!) and ended up with two partial lots in January that I hoped to be able to complete one from at a bargain price, but I was still looking at another $40+ if I really wanted it complete with all minfigures. I ended up winning one complete at auction on eBay for a total of about fifty cents more than I'd invested in the two lots. I already sold off part of that incomplete version for more than I expected, so once I sell the extra Green Dragon I'll probably come out a few $ ahead on the initial two lots, but not a good hourly rate, ha. Live and learn. I'm happy to have one complete and to have finally deleted it from my saved searches on eBay! I processed another 15 used sets from a bulk lot of partially built sets that I got locally last year and have sold most already, but I kept that Clone BP - those troopers look great! Finally, I ended up having to buy the Dewback set rom one of you off eBay as I missed it before retirement, but I want it to go with the new Bantha set...A really nice small build! There is a lot of terrible stuff happening in the world at the moment, but I'm thankful for my family's health and I've enjoyed the extra time to build and sort LEGO as a pleasant distraction. I reinventoried my very small supply of used parts on BL after a couple of inventory issues in January and sorted them out of plastic bags and into nice containers (you can see two of them in the background). Those may never pay for themselves as used parts are only a small part of my BL revenue, but it was worth it for the peace of mind of knowing I have what is advertised and that I can find it much quicker. I've done some MOCing, built the original 76021 Milano yesterday, and I am excited to start another project (or 5) soon (tonight). Happy building to all!1 point

unless I'm just bad at searching, I can't believe that there doesn't seem to be ANY supplemental content for this show. Why not have tons of photos of every build on the website? Why not have a bunch of extra behind the scenes clips available? Seems like they are missing a huge opportunity to feed the flames of this shows popularity.1 point

If it was me, I wouldn’t have led with Angry Birds.1 point

That's a weird message to send ... what are you trying to accomplish with that message? Either you ship to a 0 feedback new buyer or you don't. I see no reason why you shouldn't ship. Lots of people are looking for LEGO to build right now, and many are exploring EBay as Amazon has ridiculous shipping times right now. Better make their first experience a good one.1 point

Is it just me, or is anyone else struck by just how prominent the Colosseum is in the box art for the Fiat. Certainly, with the Fiat being Italian, one can justify putting the car in front of essentially any Italian landmark. I just wonder if this might be a bit of foreshadowing, the way they do with some of the Star Wars UCS sets.1 point

Well I have already heard of this through quite a few worthy sources, but right now I would consider 20% off the new 40% off. Don't expect any great deals for a long time and I would really look though this Amazon list of discounts and grab what you can since there will be a demand. https://www.brickpicker.com/lego-feeds/us-retailers/amazon-usa/0 points
