We have been going through our Facebook Marketplace find from last month and sorting all of the pieces into each individual set. Now we are finally to the stage of getting to do some building! First up: 10019 UCS Rebel Bloackade Runner, which was missing 0 pieces. We are a little over halfway finished. I did have to order a replacement sticker sheet, which is en route.7 points

It works as in, it reports blood oxygenation. Wife is of the latent hypochondriac type, so I just bought this to add another calming factor into the mix. Neither of the ladies are in a bad condition in any way, they're just sticking to their beds and rooms. The upside of a McMansion in the midwest US is that every bedroom has its own bathroom, so isolation is pretty easy to do. Us boys have no symptoms (yet) - my son and I. So we get the rest of the house. My hands are raw from all the handwashing and even moisturizing cream doesn't help anymore . Pretty busy times working a fulltime job from home, taking care of 2 patients, and running a household. Happy that it's almost weekend!4 points

Instead of locking the thread again, which seems inevitable, can we instead consider banning turds like this that can't seem to stop themselves from posting bad political takes and trying to start fights? Please? I mean seriously, you have any number of social media sites you can go to if you wan't to waste time arguing. There are others that will happily engage with you and you can solve all of the country's problems by owning them online.4 points

We are going to try again but with the expectation that people remain courteous and civil while still being able to express themselves , otherwise it will be locked again . Those are stressful times for the vast majority of us , whether it be emotionally, financially, or medically, so please think about what your fellow brick pickers might be going through before unleashing unnecessary rage. This site has become more than an investment site for most of us so let us keep pushing forward as a community.4 points

Sales have been awesome on craigslist and facebook. I'm even moving my dusty T1s for profit!! People are very good at social distancing for sales too. I open the trunk and stand back. They toss in the cash and take the sets. Gets rid of the small talk weirdness too.3 points

It’s still to early to produce any peer vetted studies, but more and more reports coming in daily. Here is what Dr. Fauci had to say. ’What we're starting to see is people who are younger, young, healthy, vigorous, who don't have any underlying conditions, who are getting seriously ill," Fauci said. "It's still a very, very small minority, but it doesn't mean that young people like yourself should say, 'I'm completely exempt from any risk of getting seriously ill.' And that's the reason why when we talk about being careful of physical distancing, doing the kind of social separation, it means not only for the elderly, but the young people have to do it too, for two reasons. One, you need to protect yourself because you're not completely exempt from serious illness. But two, you can become the vector, or the carrier of infection where you get infected, you feel well, and then you inadvertently and innocently pass it onto your grandfather or your grandmother or your uncle who's on chemotherapy for cancer. That's what we got to be careful.’ https://www.wwltv.com/article/news/health/coronavirus/17-year-old-from-new-orleans-dies-from-coronavirus-disease/289-a76de101-d4d9-4b2d-bce1-6f9cac65a17e2 points

I've stopped visiting the site as much since the conversations went from a mutual love of legos to the very spiteful tone exposed in this thread.2 points

I wanted to create a new thread in order to give progress on my site updates. I want explain a bit on what happened and what I am doing. What happened with the site? Honestly nothing really exciting or dramatic, overall in the end, I did not want to support the host I was with for the past four years after not really offering too much help with managed servers. They would spend 30 seconds looking, say they can ping the server so its up and then just say, "hey not my problem". I was on aging hardware, paying the same amount of money, so I took the opportunity to move to a new host with better/faster hardware and a staff that does help to support you when run into an issue that you can't handle on your own. I have been doing this a long time and pretty good monitoring and handling 99% of what comes my way, but there are issues that you need the next level up to help figure out what to do. I wasn't getting anything like that, but paying for it. Not anymore. What my goal is... I know more than anyone that the site needed some TLC. It's been a while since I have done any drastic updates, the site looked tired and I know the site can be so much better than what it's current state was. LEGO investing has changed since Ed and I launched the site and it's time to remove the dead content and bring more of what people are looking for. Below is the short term list of items planned for updating. I have been working on the nightly, just like the early days and enjoying seeing parts of it coming to life. Fix the login. This has been messed up and quirky for a while. This has been resolved and working well. It's a simple thing overall, but nice that it actually works how it's supposed to Overall price guide site design update. The site was tired and disjointed. I hated it and pained me to look at it. Time to start over. Brickfolio update. All the Brickfolio data is safe. I have close to three million rows of data for Brickfolio entries. Time to bring this thing to 2020. I will probably create another thread at some point to solicit some feedback on some new requests for the brickfolio Fix the data syncing with Brickset. A lot of people used this feature, but it's time to make it work the way it should. Later I will work on the content portions. The news and blogs. I have some good ideas for this, but want to get the price guide and brickfolio to you sooner than later. What I am asking for if possible... If you can, please stop asking where the brickfolio is. Again, the data is safe and I am working as fast as I can to bring it all back to you. It won't be a few days, but more like a few weeks, but it will be worth it. I setup my dev environment to push releases quick and easy. I want to create a true changelog so that you can follow updates to see what was done/fixed/new/removed, you know like what real software companies do. I really do appreciate your patience with this. It wasn't planned, but if there was going to be a time to do it, it was going to be now.1 point

Three weeks ago my son came down with strep and my daughter followed. Three bedroom condo with no place to hide. They were given antibiotics and all seemed fine. My wife followed suit and she went on antibiotics also. But then things got weird a week and a half in me and my daughter starting feeling really tired and our muscles aches to a point where we couldn’t get far in the house without tiring out. We called the doctor and he said there’s not much he can do because testing is restricted in Illinois. A very dry cough followed that was always random it seemed. So our symptoms were not bad but the exhaustion really made it feel 10 times worse. This is day 10 for this family of four and we are back on the upswing. Lucky for us is the symptoms were mild and we are hoping those were it but we are cautious as we move forward. Lots of praying for us and others inflicted with this. And for all the caretakers out there. And condolences to all go lost someone. This isn’t easy but I’ve always thought of this country as resilient and hopefully sooner the later we start seeing a trend reversing1 point

Agreed - the re-opening of the thread was refreshing with some personal stories and actual value adds. We are at a point where we need to put aside difference, politics, religion, race or whatever else it may be, and band together! @Phil B We hope that your family has a speedy and complete recovery, from whatever it may be!1 point

Just do what it says, do not ship the item, etc etc. At some point, Paypal may need to remove the payment from your account. They will email you and you should not need to do anything either1 point

Yes, the mind can do crazy things. We have a couple people at work like that. Every little feeling they have they are trying to associate with having CV.1 point

Praying for a speedy recovery for them regardless if it's CV or not. How are you feeling? One of the most misleading things the media especially is doing with this is the overinflated death rate % numbers. Just as $20 on Joe stated, even in a small sample 25% of all people tested were positive. Even reducing that to 10% in the USA that means over 38 million already have or have had it. Obviously not scientific but at the rate it is spread not out of the realm of possibility which reduces the death rate to .002%. Of course more people are going to die unfortunately that are in hospitals now or have it, but you can see how the panic level from thinking 3-4% are dying to thinking well under 1% will would change things.1 point

I think one of the major issues with this virus is the stress and hypochondria that it elicits. Dr. Birx stated yesterday that 84% of the 550,000 tests given to date have come back negative so far, so either there is a lot of regular flu, colds and hay fever around or people are thinking they have it. I for one constantly find myself breathing in deeply and question every cough or sniffle that I have. For 4 weeks I have had thought I have had sore throats, only to find they mysteriously go away. Maybe it's hay fever from the early pollen season. Maybe it's the hand sanitizer and Lysol spray I am inhaling everyday. Maybe it's in my brain. It's not a good way to live.1 point

Sorry to hear this update from you. Perhaps you could order or pick up one of these less discussed but still price gouging going on: https://www.amazon.com/CONTEC-CMS50DL-Oximeter-Carrying-Silicone/dp/B072JCXXTD/ref=sr_1_3?crid=259SY2FPQ3EBP&dchild=1&keywords=pulse+oximeter&qid=1585311873&sprefix=Puls%2Caps%2C150&sr=8-3 Reports are saying that when someone with CoVid-19 progresses from mild to severe illness one of the first signs is a drop in blood oxygen levels that requires supplemental oxygen. Although you will not have baseline readings most young healthy non-smokers should be 97% and above. We are seeing the same thing here a lack of synthetic swabs and reagents needed to run the test so only the most ill are getting tested. So yes as you say infection rates are way underreported but so are fatalities: https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/nidhiprakash/coronavirus-update-dead-covid19-doctors-hospitals1 point

I had these exact symptoms. It started with the chest tightness, which I thought were allergies. Singulair didn't work, and I developed a fever. Negative flu test and was denied Covid test. I never developed a cough. After 2+ weeks, there are still some residual respiratory issues. I won't know what it was, and it may not matter.1 point

Will be great if accurate: Senegal: 10-minute coronavirus test may be on its way - for $1 https://aje.io/j748z1 point

The ship appears to have proper tumblehome, which I think is a first for lego and makes it more period accurate.1 point

JarJar represents all that was awful about the prequels in a single character in terms of concept, storyline, plot, dialog, and execution. The fact that such a character was even considered by the decision makers was a critical flaw that was only going to undermine the whole project...and it did.1 point

Let’s take a small break from this thread. Go build a Lego set and hug a family member or pet.1 point

Just a brief update to let you in on what I have been up to. I have some of the main price guide pages laid out and starting to wire everything together to make those pages functional. I am using a new design so it takes time to lay it out and make sense. I am not trying for total perfection since I am trying to get the site out to every one as soon as possible and will push updates over time to add more and fix things. Next up will be the Brickfolio so that I can get the site active for you all to have access to your data again. Today I am actually working on updating the Amazon code. I received call from Amazon on Friday asking me to please upgrade and convert my code to their new API. I really appreciate that they did that. I have known about it and they sent quite a few emails, but the fact that they reached out was very cool. I need to get this done or they will shut down any of the code that helps the daily deals feed (whether you love or hate it).1 point

My wife and daughter are both self-quarantining in our house. Wife has chest tightness since last weekend, daughter has a mild fever (100F, 37.7C). Both had a bit of a runny nose, some minor stomach issues, and are otherwise fine. We called their doctors early in the week and the advice was that it could very well be CV but there was no way to tell, to self-isolate and drink lots of fluids. They didn’t prescribe tests, because even if they did, we would get turned away at the lab as there is no capacity to deal with anyone but the most critical cases. So, as already mentioned before, infection rates are much higher than reported (and hence death rates much lower) because people with mild or non-standard symptoms are not being tested.0 points
