I wanted to create a new thread in order to give progress on my site updates. I want explain a bit on what happened and what I am doing. What happened with the site? Honestly nothing really exciting or dramatic, overall in the end, I did not want to support the host I was with for the past four years after not really offering too much help with managed servers. They would spend 30 seconds looking, say they can ping the server so its up and then just say, "hey not my problem". I was on aging hardware, paying the same amount of money, so I took the opportunity to move to a new host with better/faster hardware and a staff that does help to support you when run into an issue that you can't handle on your own. I have been doing this a long time and pretty good monitoring and handling 99% of what comes my way, but there are issues that you need the next level up to help figure out what to do. I wasn't getting anything like that, but paying for it. Not anymore. What my goal is... I know more than anyone that the site needed some TLC. It's been a while since I have done any drastic updates, the site looked tired and I know the site can be so much better than what it's current state was. LEGO investing has changed since Ed and I launched the site and it's time to remove the dead content and bring more of what people are looking for. Below is the short term list of items planned for updating. I have been working on the nightly, just like the early days and enjoying seeing parts of it coming to life. Fix the login. This has been messed up and quirky for a while. This has been resolved and working well. It's a simple thing overall, but nice that it actually works how it's supposed to Overall price guide site design update. The site was tired and disjointed. I hated it and pained me to look at it. Time to start over. Brickfolio update. All the Brickfolio data is safe. I have close to three million rows of data for Brickfolio entries. Time to bring this thing to 2020. I will probably create another thread at some point to solicit some feedback on some new requests for the brickfolio Fix the data syncing with Brickset. A lot of people used this feature, but it's time to make it work the way it should. Later I will work on the content portions. The news and blogs. I have some good ideas for this, but want to get the price guide and brickfolio to you sooner than later. What I am asking for if possible... If you can, please stop asking where the brickfolio is. Again, the data is safe and I am working as fast as I can to bring it all back to you. It won't be a few days, but more like a few weeks, but it will be worth it. I setup my dev environment to push releases quick and easy. I want to create a true changelog so that you can follow updates to see what was done/fixed/new/removed, you know like what real software companies do. I really do appreciate your patience with this. It wasn't planned, but if there was going to be a time to do it, it was going to be now.

I live in New Orleans and we just had Mardi Gras and all that it brings . Normally my family and me get out of town for the week. This year I'm stuck working a turn-around for two months so my family went to Disney without me. Very surprised they haven't announced any cases here yet. Maybe beads, boobs and booze is the cure.

People have to be careful of what they read and how things are spun, from either political party. Even some of the "TV" doctors like to spin things for effect. These numbers are changing so fast, it's hard to keep up. One can find good news or bad news in every new release of information. While the internet can be a great source of information, it is also a great source of misinformation.

I will agree, they are becoming more nit-picky with their judging. It could use a 3rd Judge; why they don't use the guest stars as those is beyond me.

I've always been in the boat of fans wanting more films with the downside of reduced quality...I prefer films every 2 years than two decades...so I'm not a purist. I no longer expect the whole film to be epic...but I've always been stoked about the handful of memorable epic scenes in each film; which is good enough for me.

This all ignores the fact that due to lack of testing kits and prioritization calls, and due to the fact that many people will not have major symptoms while infected, the percentages are way off. Yes 5 dead out of 9, but who says there aren't 1000+ people walking around in WA with this virus who don't even get tested?

Per CNN..Italy's Civil Protection Authority reported the country now has 1,694 confirmed coronavirus cases, up from 1,128 confirmed cases on Saturday. Thirty-four people have died. About 2%... While I don't want to jinx anything, they said today that that patient zero was probably infecting people since mid January in Washington. A layman would figure there should be hundreds of cases in that area causing major issues as we speak. Maybe there will be, but also maybe it has had minimal impact on many people. The first responders had no idea that there was Coronavirus involved I believe.

Jeff is working on it along with many other things. I think some folks need to remember, our owners & mods have lives outside of brickpicker. we have spouses, kids , regular jobs, houses, etc... this is also a free web site, so jeff and ed don't have hired workers "standing ready to go" to work on items when they can't. That's why folks should use the brickfolio export feature often. The good news is that no data is lost. It's all there. Just give Jeff as much time as he needs.

I don't understand why people are even mentioning this. It is missing for everyone. I am working on updating all of this right as we speak. No one else needs to notify us of this, trust me, I know the entire price guide section is missing right now but will be back, better than ever.

For me, I had a feeling the show would turn out the way it has. I don’t think it has to do with being a Lego elitist and not getting what I want from a program about Lego competition. My problem really is FOX. Same goes for most other networks that try to present reality competition. Some get it right the way I enjoy to watch and continue to watch. Then there are those that adhere to their audience which might not be me...fine if they get people to watch but not for me. Then there’s FOX. They have consistently shown that they have a complete lack of inspired or original thought. They rely on the formula and only add a new ingredient to see if it works. Granted, I won’t deny they have had success doing this. But I’ve never been a fan of American Idol, masked singer, and whatever. Now that they’ve taken an element that I enjoy and brought it down to their level...that hurts. I’ll watch because I’m hoping for the best but in the end I’m just expecting more FOX.

I finally got around to watching the second episode. Wow, that was awful. There are so many paths this show could go to maintain the reality show drama, but the path they are going is really, really bad. Highlight the creations, not Will Arnett bashing them with a baseball bat.
