Report: Outbreak of idiocy spreading 10,000 times faster than coronavirus. TORONTO – Public health officials in Toronto have confirmed its first 50,000 cases of being a misinformed f**kwit as xenophobic conspiracy theories and tales of false cures continue to spread across social media. “Becoming a complete moron during an infectious disease outbreak is far more viral than we first thought,” said Dr. Jeanne Smith of Toronto Public Health. “Fact resistance is abnormally high especially among the dullard population, and the bottom 5% of your graduating high school class.” Tens of thousands of people were affected by a novel fake news claim that the Chinese government was developing coronavirus at Canada’s National Microbiology Lab leaving at least 10,000 people stupider. Patients are usually asymptomatic until they open their mouths or start tweeting. Aunts spreading rumours about 100% natural cures for the virus on Facebook have been quarantined while racist uncles at dinner tables were ball-gagged as a precaution. “Our epidemiologists are working hard to identify idiot zero, but there might be more sporadic outbreaks of coronavirus-related imbecility,” added Dr. Smith. Meanwhile, health officials are dreading teaching the population a complicated prevention technique: washing your hands.4 points

Until there is scientific proof from real investigation at the site of origin of this virus, it would seem premature to confirm or deny any origin theory. Statements from authoritarian regimes or medical officials who have not investigated thoroughly are not scientific proof. As far as I know no real investigation by international unbiased scientists has been conducted.2 points

Exactly. Can we get a mod in here? The site shouldn’t be used for advocating conspiracy theories. If we’re shutting down posts for nicknames for POTUS, certainly this type of thing crosses the line.1 point

It's one thing to have a healthy skepticism of gov't - trust me, plenty of us in the US have that. It's another to speculate that a virus was cooked up in a lab and purposely released to achieve some devious goal without any supporting evidence whatsoever. That's rapidly approaching unhinged.1 point

Nice article and I believe a lot of what was written. The Coronavirus is here and probably has been here for months. It's been a rough flu season locally in NJ. I know of many people that were hit hard with it this year. How can anybody know it wasn't here unless they tested for it? They won't know because tests have been inaccurate and non-existent in most communities. Many symptoms are similar to influenza and are treated in similar ways. If I was a betting man, I would wager that as more test kits are produced, you will see cases popping up across the country and globe. That being said...Everybody is shaken. But if you take a breath and look at what is going on around you, you will notice nothing much has changed and the dead are not walking the streets. The stock market will recover. This virus will be dealt with. I personally have a lot going on in my life with building and selling a home and a business that depends on personal contact. I am a little on edge, so I get the anxiety. I think certain areas of the world will have issues...even in this country. Places with poor living conditions and sanitation will be hit hard, but that has always been the case with any outbreak throughout history. San Francisco could have issues. The rhetoric coming from all politicians and news agencies doesn't help either. Everyone has an angle or agenda and everyday people are getting the shaft and inaccurate information. But I am confident in the American people to overcome and to handle this situation better than most.1 point

It is basically the same scam PayPal is going to pull soon, where they will keep their fee even if you refund. Especially fun when dealing with international orders. Whaddaya mean soon? PP is already doing that starting on 11/20191 point

I personally bought shares of APT, the makers of that N-65 Mask which is on a tear right now. It's a tangible commodity right now so depending on when you buy it, it's making itself worth it.1 point

i'm going to say something pompous and all knowing like "its the cost of doing business on amazon." I agree with you it doesn't feel right which is why as an amazon 3p seller you really need to make sure to stock up. https://www.amazon.com/LubeLife-Personal-Lubricant-Lube-Parabens/dp/B07FMGNV511 point

Those were my light-hearted thoughts, too. I've got a ton of Lego, a ton of movies, and I like to make music. So throw in my drumset, a piano and a few guitars... a deck of cards... I could handle a couple weeks in my house. I'm just glad it's beginning to warm up slightly so the windows can open for some fresh air. My work has had signs up essentially saying if you've traveled to China recently, etc. etc. not allowed inside. I work in aerospace/defense so supply chain disruptions for our manufacturing/operations could be big on the commercial side. On our government side it's largely made in USA.1 point

I hope you're right. Even if the prices crash (not likely, just a possibility) I'm glad to have a lot of LEGO, in a real lockdown scenario it's a nice time killer for sure. Food & hygiene prepping is far more important of course, but at this point you should already have everything... don't wait any longer if you haven't...1 point

Everyone has their own priorities. And like someone else said, the masks are only good for preventing the sick from spreading their germs to others1 point

This. As long as USPS and/or Amazon still deliver packages, we are still in business1 point

Based on what I read about this, the patient in question was not one of those who traveled at all in the US. She was the first non-traveling victim of this thus far, which is concerning.1 point

I think this is a better MF model as well, but I'm still waiting for a substantial sale. Same for the KR Shuttle. So glad I sold my previous copies (75104) ASAP. Even got $75 for my one personal build. LEGO has milked the MF so hard the past few years they have to take a break. Of course, I wonder what a 4+ MF would look like? lol1 point

While masks are great if you can get them and if you're in close contact with people, washing hands and sanitizer will be the most effective way to slow it down. Problem is, people touch their face about 15-20 times an hour from what studies say and even with a mask on, rubbing your face or eyes or nose will be just as problematic.1 point

Ed and Jeff, your committment to this is amazing, under-appreciated, and extremely valuable to a bunch of us Lego-nerd-invester-hobbiest types. Take your time getting this back up and running. Anyone whose actually investing in lego will hopefully realize that this isn't a day trading investment product. Do your thing guys! And, again, thanks for your commitment to making this happen! -Woody1 point

Good for you, someone had to pay full RRP; thanks for being the first Storm Trooper through the door. I actually like that they improved on the design with less gaps. This and the Kylo shuttle are good improvements.1 point

I agree with most of this. I also think it depends on scale. Some people have their operation setup where they can find a box for just about anything so packing and shipping takes the same amount of time for a polybag, battle pack or SSD. I find myself scrambling to find boxes that aren't too big for certain sets. By the time I find the right one and get it packed, weighed, sized and a label printed I've burned up a half an hour. I know that sounds inefficient but I'm not at the volume to justify having everything on hand. I'm not real strict on trying to calculate an hourly wage for this venture/hobby. If you add up all the time I'm on brickpicker, I'm making pennies per hour. I enjoy this as a hobby, a way to earn some side income, and most of all, a way to justify the feeding of my hoarding instincts1 point

Would be interesting to know how LEGO handled the IP license fees 1 % from all sales for the original IDEAS Creator.. Surely you get more if the product is widely in circulation than to restrict its sale to a SINGLE city...0 points

All fears aside, this virus is only a test run for a real depopulation virus. It's not lethal enough. Anyone who thinks this outbreak is a coincidence is delusional. A virus can be crafted in any biological-warfare lab & it's perfect for killing people, crashing the economy & controlling the masses without taking the blame for it. Perfect location & time too, right before the Chinese New Year in a central province.0 points
