I watched it with my two kids age 4 and 6. They loved the builds, but kept asking "Why is that man wearing a dress" and "why does he have a bow in his hair." Frankly, I'm not ready for these kind of conversations...3 points

What had me perplexed this episode was Mayim Bialic. It's almost like she wasn't a celebrity guest, but rather a "Hey let's find the nearest celebrity on the studio lot that has some free time to just be around to make things interesting." She even left before they were done. This show is slowly becoming a mess.2 points

You can knock it out in 20 minutes MAX on the DVR. The one guy with the green alien build is at another level then all of the other contestants. They should have had Jang on as a contestant.2 points

Interesting read... I am generally always on the side of small business over large corporations, but what did these people think would happen when they made the decision not to patent their designs? Even if it applied to only one country they could have registered it in the US and that would have prevented TLG from using their stuff or anyone who copied their stuff in the US without first reaching an agreement with Brickstuff.2 points

Yikes. Well, first, if I were Brickstuff, I would have talked with a lawyer before posting that. Maybe they did. Maybe it doesn't matter. But just in case. Morally, I don't think this was the right thing for LEGO to do. But, we know that hasn't stopped LEGO in the past (*cough* Ghostbusters Firehouse *cough*). Where Brickstuff is potentially screwed is not filing patents. But even if they aren't screwed there, a lawyer to fight LEGO is going to cost them money. Lots and lots of money. And if they don't fight it, LEGO could turn around sue them.2 points

I think commenting on some of the contestants attitudes, behaviors, styles, demeanors, etc is all for not. It's all staged drama so how these contestants are in real life is a whole different story anyway. Given that, it's still one of the worst staged reality setups I've seen (not that I've seen many). The crying couple, the two not getting along, the hazing between contestants . . . pretty bad. I think a good reality show has to based on some reality and I don't feel it here. There are a few contestants who obviously know what they are doing, some who are just ok and some who don't belong on the same stage. We already know who the best designers are, the rest is just drama fluff. My wife and I used to watch the cooking and home designer reality shows back in the day and it felt like we were watching actual contests. The drama, mistakes and challenges presented were actually believable and consistent with what could happen. I feel like Lego Masters is Lego's reaction to Ninjago when they did Chima. What "they thought" was so great about Ninjago they did 10x for Chima. So instead of deciding to do a great Lego contest show, whey decided to do what "they think" makes a good reality show. The end result is it's just not authentic. Even the non-lego fan will realize it's not a real contest here. I hope the show adjusts and makes it, but I really doubt it the way it's going.1 point

It's like they are trying to figure out what to show us while people are building, not realizing the building is what we want to watch. We're still in though, cheering on the theme. Weird Mayim left before the end.1 point

The only motive for her to be on the show was to promote her new show....whatever that was. My kids were like...."Hey...it's Blossom!" She added nothing to the show what-so-ever.1 point

The Newlyweds' (Tyler and Amy) - I was also very impressed with their green alien, not just the build itself but their forethought into having that explosive fall into the alien mouth. I had somewhat pre-judged them the first episode in their ability to work together but they really turned it around this time. The Eccentrics (Sam & Jessica) - I don't get these two and part of me feels like it's just an act. I kind of want to go back and watch the show again and see how they edited it because I feel like they must argue with each other early on to get screen time and drama, but yet they still put together a decent looking cat in the end. Definitely eccentric though, I won't mind when they leave just on that account. Clark Kent & Superman (Christian & Aaron) - There is definite talent here but man those guys are cocky. So funny when the two people cheering on how their set got destroyed was essentially themselves. I mean, hey you need to sell it, better than saying "ooh that didn't work"... let the judges decide. So I get that part but still, we've got over-confident "Lego Instructor" and ginormous Army Sergeant. Interesting team. Married Thespians (Flynn & Richard) - I could care less about their "lifestyle", though I was concerned in the beginning that the producers would emphasize it way too much and I'm pleased that so far it's been rather subtle. Funny seeing the opposites attract thing going on, the nervous stressed out one with the calm level-headed one. Brothers Who Brick (Travis & Corey) - These guys are interesting because so far their builds have been rather "bricky" and "blocky". Not that everything has to be smooth and polished but that type of thing might be required down the road so I'll be interested to see how they adapt. East Coast Brickers (Mel & Jermaine) and The Unicorns (Krystle & Amie) - Neither of these teams have gotten much screen time and are somewhat under the radar. If they don't differentiate or stand out in some way I don't see them sticking around long. Father & Son BFFS (Manny & Nester) - These two are funny to watch interact and listen to. Like others, they somewhat have 'hobby-level' talent but I don't see them lasting long. The Bearded Buiders (Boone & Mark) - These guys are smart, fun, and to me have seemed to be very versatile. The challenge could change, and so do the requirements, but they still tend to bring a polished end product and I think that's one of their advantages is their adaptability. Only 2 episodes in though, so we'll see. Higher the Hair, Closer to God (Jessie & Kara) - Glad to see them go. Between episode 1 & 2 they didn't present that much Lego-building talent. I'm sure their over-the-top personalities and facial expressions got them on the show. Next...1 point

Thoughts on EP.2: - Really impressed with the couples build (Green Alien) I think they are one to watch as a finalist. - Shaking my head when the Gold Brick team was building with Train tracks. Jamie literally told them not to build with technic, but they did anyways. Great build techniques and I think this team is good, but depending on the type of build, they can get overconfident and lost in their build structure and not the end goal. - Im ready for the older guys to leave, it stresses me out watching that guy stress about building. Just build! - YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND LEGO! No, man, I think we just don't understand you. Chill and be nice. Im looking forward to EP.3 with the contestants building the other half of whatever object they are assigned. Will Arnett has totally embraced his dad jokes.1 point

It was a matter of time I suppose. Keep them reasonably priced and they will sell. I'd be willing to bet only a small percentage of the LEGO audience even know lights exist for sets...now that they can buy the set and the light kit in the same transaction, they will be a hit. Now....make it so I can hook them to a central hub that is remote controlled so I can control my lights without opening and closing my cabinets....winner!1 point

FG has been in the game long enough to know his market so if it´s a winner there then good for him. In Europe it is still easy to find and will be a marker for HP EOL appreciation. Also, many Euro Timmy and Timettas are scared of spiders and how many parents are gonna buy something to scare their kids? I forgot the bus, which is the only sub 50 set I would take on but it has to be half price. Hagrid´s Hut is my winner from the lot.1 point

Yes what Ed said is right. I am working on it and I am taking the time to address the issues it's been having as well. I will get the Brickfolio back to everyone as soon as I can, but as I just said, i am taking the time to FIX it as well.1 point

Haha. My kids were annoyed by the concept of "commercials". We are not the audience for this show, let's be honest. I agree with the comment that the first ep editing was a little choppy, but really it's no different than Top Chef or something where early on when you have a ton of people you just can't see them all in depth. My kids really enjoyed Will Arnett as the host. They gave this show a great time slot lead in (although there was grumbling in our house for sure from my wife wondering why they would put a Lego focused show at 9 pm vs. 8 pm on another night, which is a good question). If you think this show is going to be getting deep on building techniques then just head to YouTube. For this community it is going to be a great thing if it maintains some viewers, as it is for sure going to draw some people out of their dark ages.1 point

In honor of the Man U stadium announcement I went back and built the classic NBA arena from the early 2000s. I love the early/mid 2000s sets. Not a cheese slope to be found, lots of big pieces, and good sized builds overall. Along with it I added the 24 NBA players from the player packs, pretty much NBA CMF series without the title. Ended up arranging them by all NBA first, second, third team, etc from the players available. Kobe, AI, Dirk, Tim Duncan, and Shaq made the first team1 point
