  1. In honor of the Man U stadium announcement I went back and built the classic NBA arena from the early 2000s. I love the early/mid 2000s sets. Not a cheese slope to be found, lots of big pieces, and good sized builds overall. Along with it I added the 24 NBA players from the player packs, pretty much NBA CMF series without the title. Ended up arranging them by all NBA first, second, third team, etc from the players available. Kobe, AI, Dirk, Tim Duncan, and Shaq made the first team

  2. Finally found the new 8-wide Speed Champions Ferrari F8 at Barnes & Noble today, and after purchasing and building it I have to say I am quite impressed. I don't have a city needing 6-wide conformity on the vehicles so that was a non-issue for me. I just wanted the standalone set. In the picture here we have the two F40s (Creator Expert vs. 6-wide Speed Champions) bookending the new 8-wide F8 and the difference in detail is very noteworthy (Especially between the 6-wide F40 and the 8-wide F8). Thought I'd provide this view so you all can see the comparison. Fun build!

  3. Not so much as what I built today but what I will be building. I got a call from my local Lego store manager saying a lady dropped off a big box of old Lego that she wanted to recycle. Luckily the manager saw a few old modulars on there and thought to call me. She asked if I wanted to come pick up the box and sent me a pic. First thing I saw were parts to the Grand Emporium and A Cafe Corner. I couldn't get to the store fast enough. I brought the box home and after starting to dig through it I saw all the parts to Market street inside. Going to be a fun weekend.

  4. Most memorable build: None. I don't build/play with LEGO. Best for resell Deals: None. Best Personal Collection Deals: None. I don't collect anything. BEST Damn Set 2019 (purchased): What does "BEST Damn Set 2019" mean? Biggest LEGO Fiasco 2019: TLG carelessly repeating several mistakes of the past that nearly resulted in bankruptcy in around 2004 and making many new mistakes (that could ultimately lead to where they came from 15-20 years ago), like acquiring back their LEGOLAND parks, having too many products/pieces in production, announcing the return of LEGO jewellery for girls, introducing wooden figures, increasing their prices in general while decreasing production quality, ignoring most of the present and upcoming market threats and growing competition, introducing new features to their community just to abondon those featues after only weeks (Black VIP card, VIP rewards program). Not to forget other "big (stupid) ideas" like launching the 1989 Batmobile on Black Friday without caring about server capactity for their website that has not been working properly in the first place for years now. Deal that Got Away: None. I took advantage of every deal as planned. Most Regretful Purchases: None. Still waiting on for right price (worried of being too late): None.

  11. I did not buy a lone Harvester Transport set at Target for $20.98 because I was able to buy three about 1-2 months for $7 less, and did not buy three Hogwarts Express at 30% off because they have been on clearance for less at Walmart, though much harder to find and instantly gone where I live, and that buy-in is too high for me.

  12. I would like to change my regret set to the 3 in 1 creator stunt show. There is a reason why that set got pulled after only 5 months and why you can still find it a year later.

  13. A collection worth £10,000 is supposed to wow people? Those collection photos look pedestrian compare to those regularly posted on this board.

  17. I started listening to RUSH in the 9th grade decades later and they are still one of my favorite bands. A classic among fans is one of my favorite live performances: YYZ. RIP Neil Peart!

  22. So visiting in-laws over Christmas. Visit local Myer who still had The Old Fishing Store 21310 for sale (at 25% off!), also had a heap of architecture sets that will finish up plus the Chinese sets from last year that sold out. Unfortunately vehicle space was very limited so I went home to think about how to ‘tetris’ a few boxes in the car for the 10 hour trip home a few days later. Went to the local Big W for some batteries and ended up with this instead. Side of box has a tear but all seals attached and looks good to me. Bought for half price. Next time I visit inlaws I’m taking a bigger vehicle.

  23. My 10 year old loves the Packers & Lego more than almost anything else, so I got him this buildable Lambeau field this year for Xmas. He's taken on several very complex Lego builds without batting an eye, but he threw in the towel on this set very quickly. I took over the build from him and can't blame him - the instructions are at times near incomprehensible, and there is almost zero margin for error, lest you have to retrace your steps & deconstruct portions of the set to fix errors you didn't even know were there(which is it's own pain in the ass). I'm looking forward to the finished product, but it's made me realize how much I take Lego for granted

  24. Been waiting for 31105 Toy Store to come out for my amusement park. Bought two and built the 2nd one as a mirror image of the first. In the process of turning the 2nd one into an ice cream shop. These two buildings will eventually form the entrance to "main street" at the park.

  27. It’s a Christmas miracle! Speed Champions versus 18 pounds of liquid laundry detergent. Usually spells disaster But arrived unscathed. Normally wouldn’t expect this from Amazon. Especially since these were initially two separate orders. So their automated system decided to combine them

  29. Not today, but the other day, when both Amazon and Walmart had DC Minifigs for $3.44 each. I put them in my cart, but got busy and by the time I went to order them, they were sold out.
