So, maybe not a deal, but a surprise (for me) is that the new Jaguar Speed Champions (76898) has launched on LEGO Shop at Home and is only $29.99 (565 parts)?!?!?!? Seeing as its 35 GBP, I wonder if this is a launch mistake and the pricing will be corrected. Snatched one up for personal, but those of you interested, limit is 20...3 points

Potential QFLL alert... the new Mandalorian battle pack sold out at my local LEGO store within a couple hours of opening today.1 point

This def seems to be the price everywhere but an anomaly at this price as other comparable sets are $50 in parts including the one from the last wave with the big mini cooper. Maybe Lego is trying out a loss leader to get folks into the theme, or maybe Panasonic Jaguar license is much cheaper.1 point

391 pcs (75888) vs 565 pcs (76898) for $29.99, but 75899 (663 pcs) is $49.99, single cars are $19.99. It would be interesting to know TLG pricing algorithm on ALL speed champions sets. They are all over the place.1 point

I agree with this so much. We are a "we want it now" media society. The slow drip is such a good payoff. Your last line is very well stated.1 point

Debating buying more, got plenty when they went on sale. I suspect this will be more popular in EU than in US in the after life...1 point

Finished this fun build. I was very impressed with the techniques used and the overall look of the finished models, especially the T. rex. Now on to this one...finally!1 point

As a build over Christmas with my youngest we finished Treebeard (with some modifications to Jason Allemann's original design to fit Pippin and Merry). Jasons only used parts came from a (crushed box) 10236 but we ended up adding a few other types of foilage. Still planning to sort out the face a bit, but overall we are really happy with it. A great build and one we'll keep and have a case built for.1 point

Two recent builds: 1. Hogwarts Great Hall (expanded using 2 sets - but only pieces from the sets, no add-ons). Was fairly straight-forward to do. Increased width and height. 2. Fully enclosed Hagrid's Hut (using 2 sets, no additional pieces). This one was a bit more tricky, as it I had to make the bases hexagonal to keep the shape of the huts.1 point

I started comparing it to older sets and I noticed that it is really similar to the Detective's office and the pet shop. If you look at the three next to each other you really start to wonder if they accidentally copied a briefing about the colors and the setup of two sections. Don't these look a bit too similar color wise?1 point
