Remember, for the most part, the "Retiring Soon" tag is a sales gimmick used to get customers to buy something - typically slow sellers/overstocked sets/sets they need to move because they want to be done with the line, whatever. Most sets retire without that tag. It's not like LEGO is under any sort of obligation to mark stuff a certain way. They do it to move product.5 points

they do help resellers - to know NOT to buy the turds first with the retiring soon tag. sort of the inverse of last kid getting picked for x-ball team. i'm guessing they slapped the tag on PR - it started selling like hotcakes to clueless post petshop newbs thinking they have a chance making money with some VIP points or nonsenese discounts and TLG want to have enough stock on black friday/ cybermonday to be able to claim they offered it on sale. i wouldn't be surprised if we get a fake call 2 check coming up to really juice up demand and keep the small stash available for the grand holiday sales extravaganza.3 points

There’s a documentary, I forget which one, where they talk about Lego’s low point and almost bankruptcy. The CEO held up a Jack Stone “fire truck” and said this is what they need to never do again, that a fire truck should look like a fire truck. Seems they have forgotten already. Now here we are with this garbage.3 points

https://www.promobricks.de/lego-disney-princess-2020-bilder-und-infos-zu-den-ersten-sets/89267 Looks like they're taking a page out of the Polly Pocket book, literally. Reminds me of pop-up books and there are what I would call "microdolls"? Very interesting. If this Disney "book" idea catches on these could end up being highly collectible. All the books, all the microdolls, completionists dream.2 points

Are you implying that they don't tag sets "retiring soon" to help resellers know what to buy? Surely you can't be serious...2 points

According to the Amazon Black Friday 2019 press release found here [aboutamazon.com], they will have the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Millennium Falcon [amazon.com] on sale for 40% off. Their Black Friday sales will start this Friday, November 22 and run through November 29. It is unclear when the Falcon deal will go live, but it will surely not last long! - I feel like the fat kid in doge ball. My chances of success here are slim.2 points

Sold my last 41172 Water Dragon for $85 . 4 x buy in and were available all day everyday at my local store. Great little investment set. Cheap to post , easy to store and returns were excellent. Wish I’d bought more than I did .2 points

Not related to an order status but this kind of ties in with the Target ban / insta-cancel discussion and I found it funny. I received a letter in the mail today from Target stating that they raised my credit limit. Gee, that's great, but if you won't let me buy anything then what's the point?! In the mean time, I've been successfully placing orders with my wife's new account and everything has been going smoothly so far. The gift cards are accumulating quickly, and everything has been shipping with no questions asked.2 points

I've been bundling the "losers" that I've purchased at 50-90% off RRP for 10-20% below RRP. For smaller sets I'll bundle 2-4 together and for larger sets I'll throw in a smaller set or polybag. Themed polybag bundles do well priced at $3-5 each. Staying in the $15-$60 range seems to be the sweet spot.2 points

- and all the more reasons, why you (US based sellers) "cherished a snake in your bosom" .. its been undoubtebly great in the beginning, throughout the year.. but in my view you just got kind of "lazy and comfortable" relying on a single channel of your profits. Amazon provided EVERYTHING - from storing, to shipping to maybe handling claims. And it was so good.. And not to forget the attendance. But every single business that went with AMZ and put more effort into selling via its platform than to supporting its own private channels (like ebay sales, own e-shop platform etc..) just contributed to this.. Actually I see the very same in Poland - its like looking into a mirror, so to speak.. everybody was so obsessed with Allegro paltform that they forgot that given its enormous size (Behemot like Amazon, its said to have around 70 prct of the Polish e-market) started two yrs ago pushing and blackmailing the sellers to unimaginable restraints. And now these sellers wonder what they have done wrong.. - nothing, except going with the flow at first and forgetting the vital rule of the "family business" - at the end its all about you and not the others (platforms).1 point

It looks like it may be a new Lego element. Check out Legoleaks on Instagram for the full series.1 point

Completely agree. My son and I built both 60141and 60110 and they are both wonderful builds and play sets. Both new versions of the police station and fire station are major downgrades.1 point

ugh..! I dont know what are the feelings of others, but these boxes look so ugly! If the packaging doesnt thrill the appetite - why anyone should buy it? This is definitely a huge step down from the last year visuals that are amazing. (70650 - xx).1 point

4k pieces, it would follow the BB route; just higher numbers. 400 would be peak 1-2 months after EOL, IF it'd happen. This is bad for me, I really needed that 10243 EOL.1 point

Glad to hear your crystal ball is still properly calibrated. Any chance you’ll be gaining clarity on the other sets any time soon? I may need to bring the family to maximize purchasing power between train and batmobile.1 point

Hi everyone! Just curious what happened to this thread? We used to get an amazon Deal ticker just like the USA version, but that seems to be gone now and has been for some time. It was very handy and I used it Often. It would be nice to have that back up and running, but not sure who to contact about this? Especially with Black Friday coming this would be a great time to have it.. who’s with me? Lol ?1 point
