Well, one could argue that the lack of respect began way before Disney came into the picture...Jar Jar Binks and Hayden Christensen weren't exactly beacons of cinematic brilliance. Nothing will ever live up to the originals because we're not the kids anymore that we were when we saw them the first time around. Nothing will ever compare to seeing ANH in the theater when I was 5 or standing in line to see Empire or that sinking feeling of emptiness when the credits began to roll at the end of ROTJ. But, you know, I don't give a f^&*...2.5 hours spent in a theater watching the SW universe is a heckuva a lot better than most other ways I could spend those 2.5 hours. Because even at its worst, Star Wars is more enjoyable to watch than 95% of the other s#$% out there...with the exception of that Ewok thing in the 80s. People expect too much. Just enjoy the movies for what they are. Sent from my SM-G965U using Brickpicker Forum mobile app7 points

Not to play Devil's advocate too hard, but I find it a bit baffling when people complain about getting banned. Target (and other stores) have pretty open policies about their rights to ban suspected resellers. I don't wish ill on anyone, but a lot of folks in the "game" are pretty selfish, and they don't understand not only do their exploitative policies hurt themselves, they hurt everyone in the long run by having stores changing policies that make things harder on everyone. I've witnessed it in real time over the years. If folks used a bit more restraint and weren't as obvious (And let's be honest, we're all resellers here) - maybe they'd avoid the banhammer. Maybe don't order 10k of stuff during one sale. Normal customers don't do that. If you aren't willing to face the consequences of a speeding ticket, don't speed. Spread out your orders, be patient, use different sources = don't get banned. People get bent out of shape when someone undercuts them by a penny, but no one seems to bat an eye when a couple shortsighted folks make huge orders that cause massive fallout throughout the industry. It's very narrow sighted. --- On an unrelated note, I think it's interesting Target is kind of doing their clearance this way. Markdown the prices online, ship stuff from stores. Saves them the time and hassle of stickering/restickering/moving stock in stores. It's a pretty smart move really. And stuff is more likely to move at 50% when the whole country is the customer base, as opposed to stuff hanging out til 70% in stores. And it avoid them dealing with the closeout stores.3 points

At first viewing of the Final Trailer: I almost had goosebumps. I guess there's still a glimmer of my inner child still clutching on. And to respond to the general snarkiness about Disney and SW: I honestly think Lucas made bigger mistakes w/ the likes of JarJar Binks and casting than Disney. Also, I would also prefer a new movie biannually like the James Bond Series (as another poster alluded); w/ the tempered expectations that some would be great and some Clunkers. Star Wars is something I can share w/ my Boy; so I'm ultimately grateful.3 points

I have some updates on my Target orders... First, I emailed Circle support yesterday with just a quick "my account says suspended, I'm not sure why" type of email. I received a response today saying this: I won't be responding to that email... I'm thinking I wait it out and see if it magically becomes un-suspended. Or, if I don't place a lot of orders online for a few months if I can get it reinstated saying something along the lines of "I just realized that my Circle is suspended and I'm not sure why" and someone would look at recent purchase history and hopefully not see the thousands of dollars in clearance LEGO purchases. Also, some of my Target orders started coming in as early as yesterday and today I had about 20 packages from them. This is definitely reminiscent of Shopko or B&N. Some came very well packed in correctly sized boxes. Others came thrown in an oversized box with very little packing material. So, there are definitely some of the sets came crushed and I'll be returning them (I'm sure that won't help with keeping a low profile on Target). But, so far, the majority are in good shape. We'll see if that holds up through the rest of the shipments that are coming in over the next week or so.1 point

this is really the worse part for me...both Rey and later Leia remarkable Force accomplishments is a big FU to Yoda & Dagabah and pretty much an underlying arc of the original trilogy...Force learning is supposed to be hard yo!1 point

They had to knock off the old in order to put back the original dish so people would buy more MFs.1 point

Funny how opinions differ. This exact scene is where the series, for me, drained into the feces infested black water storage of a Star Destroyer. Presenting a fight between a weak, bumbling idiot of a storm trooper, and Jedi Master trained fighter and not seeing Finn cut down in one strike was beyond comprehension. Kylo would have slaughtered both Rey and Finn in that fight without trying, and through this failure his character became a weak and pathetic shell. After this moment, the whole franchise for me, died. How can you create a good Star Wars movie, or any good vs. evil movie for that matter, if your "baddie" is a weakling? Fact is, you can't. Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker made the series one of the greatest franchises the world has ever seen. Rey and Kylo made it, forgettable...1 point

You're right, but why watch it then? I was so disappointed with EP7... came out of the cinema not knowing what just happened, I remember thinking: "EP1 is a masterpiece compared to this garbage!" I'd gladly choose Jar Jar over Fin, Rose, Rey or whatever...1 point

Why is it baffling that people complain about getting banned? It is a total PIA for a reseller. I agree with you somewhat when I see people arguing that stores have no right to ban them or that the stores are stupid to turn down business, etc. But...the mere fact of being banned...totally understandable why someone would kvetch about that. On the question of restraint, speaking as someone who places a lot of large orders, I do what the stores allow me to do until they don't allow me to do it anymore. These stores are not stupid. They all know that resellers are buying from them and they all know how to disrupt or prevent resellers from doing so. In my experience, most stores care far more about people who do certain things that cost them money (e.g., return & rebuy) than they do about people who simply order massive quantities of product. Those that don't generally implement measures to prevent it (e.g., LEGO Shop at Home and Barnes with their hard quantity limits). I've been banned from a number of websites. It is annoying, but, at the end of the day, it's no real skin off my back...it just means I have to adapt my sourcing strategies. And stores don't make massive changes to their policies in response to a few resellers...they just ban those accounts. Stores make massive changes when the aggregate action of a large numbers of resellers causes some type of large-scale threat to their business like when Target banned all tax-exempt accounts following some fiasco with a clothing line that sold out in a minute because of resellers. Try to figure out how they've targeted you (name, address, email, CC, or some combination) and then find a way around it. Unless you doing something that really pisses them off or you're dealing with certain retailers, it has been my experience that hard bans are relatively rare.1 point

I got the feels with C-3PO and his line in that trailer though. I legit teared up when I heard Carrie Fisher's line at the end. Oh Lordy.1 point

Honestly, I'm stoked for this. I grew up with the Special Editions and the Prequels in theatres as a kid. I get that the older folks don't care much for the new trilogy but as someone who's a fan of great spaceships and battles in a mythical opera setting, I'm hooked. Each generation has a beginning and an ending. Star Wars belongs to everyone. SPACESHIP! SPACESHIP! SPACESHIP!1 point

Does this remind anyone of Endgame? ON a side note: The most brilliant aspect of the recent movies is the justoposition of iconic star wars spaceships in on-planet environments. Really brings the scale and details into perspective and leaves so much more to the imagination.1 point

IMO when it comes to Target, using Redcard is a must. Also, probably having a history of using the Redcard for other purchases excluding Lego is also a good thing. Kind of like a Citi Credit Card for Ticketmaster purchases; if you only use it to buy tickets, they will cancel your card for miss use within a year. From my experience, Target will ship from all over the place(Dist Center, Stores etc...), especially if the item is nearing end of line or an exclusive.1 point

A cash grab by Disney with no respect/regards to the original characters , story line , established rules , etc ... That’s what SW is now . Trash1 point

Here's my beef with Target and the way some of you are being picked off... If they don't want people buying so many of the same thing, then put limits on it and review accounts that go over the limits. Not super difficult. I rarely buy anything from Target so I have tried buying 20 of some sets in one purchase. On one of them, they shipped 1 of the 20 which baffles me a little but we'll see what shows up in the end. But if my orders get cancelled in the end, just saving me some time and effort on the backend which sometimes isn't the worse outcome either.1 point

Store stock for me. Not all. I expect some of the larger sets will arrive with target security stickers. Smaller sets no sticker but probably some shelfwear depending on what store you get your stuff from. Sent from my SM-N975U using Brickpicker Forum mobile app1 point

i am not part of the liquidating crew. my wife would be pi$$ed if that lego cash flow stopped funding her SEP IRA. based on my online toilet paper and lego purchase history, i think target assumes i run an orphanage or wizard academy which is why i am getting a pass on the whole Circle thing.1 point
