  1. I appreciate the effort and have been talking about a similar type of set for years, but LEGO dropped the ball. This could have been an entire theme, with more complex, individually packaged dinosaur models, with little UCS plaques for each. It could have been a truly collectible theme.

  3. it F's up all my searches and I hate them for it...these and all the MF only, or INstructions or Box only, or those damn light sets, and ofcourse the knock-offs! near impossible to simply just search by set #....hate them all...rant over. sorry.

  5. If your competition undercuts 1 penny regardless if you raise or lower your price then the correct strategy is to use a third party repricer to undercut them 1 penny and then set your repricer to move back up once you meet a certain threshold. This way you will win the buy box very close to 50% of the time (assuming there are no other competitors also matching). If they are really basic and undercut 1 penny but do not reprice backup them find their lowest price and sit 1 penny above them until they sell out. If they are basic and stupid and do not have a bottom set then send them down to 1 penny and buy all of their stock. Things can get a bit more complicated if other sellers also join in the price cutting/matching but there are also repricing strategies to beat this scenario as well (try a few different strategies and see what works well for that ASIN and sales rank).

  7. and now Jennifer Aniston (using her brand spanking new IG account) posted a pick of her mf w/ Ross mf behind Phoebe's piano...LEGO could not buy such great marketing...this set could seriously take off even more if OOS holds...must be like the CHinese New Year Sets in terms of many complex and difficult to manufacture pieces...LEGO must be stuck deciding whether to mess up their manufacturing orders going into the holiday season and simply retiring early for the free pubicity...I could see a savvy marketing strategist planning on cutting production short on this set and then releasing a Seinfeld or Office set (and over-producing the heck out of them) to be scooped up resellers.

  9. Not sure what this means, but I just received my 21317 from LEGO SaH today and the set has the printing error of saying #024 instead of CORRECTLY showing #025. I am guessing that LEGO must have made a TON of these sets when it got released and only noticed the error after they had made thousands of the wrong one. I was looking at all the eBay listings and all of them show the error. I don't even know if a box WITHOUT the error even exists. Instead of the error box, being worth a lot of money it could just be that the box that accurately displays the #025 could be worth some serious cash, just speculating.

  12. this was another WOW set for me. Since leaving the cave a year and half back, iI started out wanting everything and then scaled down to iconic sets; which were mostly retired. Of the new, I found myself gravitating towards the truly unique and special...altho I am not a fan of Ninjago...this set jumped out of the pack as special. Even as a conversation piece I see this one posing the most comments.

  17. The EXACT same thing happened to me with a shipment containing two of them. It was reported as halfway to me en route then was suddenly undeliverable due to an “address issue”. I called amazon and they said the items had been damaged and could not be replaced. Only refunded. I did receive a separate one that was part of a different order. I have 8 more pending shipping. A very strange situation...Maybe the truck carrying our figs caught on fire? ?

  20. Valid criticism. IDEAS sets like this get a criticism-free pass from me because they are so catalytic in wedging science jumping-off points into a free-time landscape dominated by Minecraft & Fortnite. This is a rare commodity in a parent's arsenal.

  21. Can a mod delete/move these to another thread? A targeted threat to one seller who may not even be on this site and see it - about their pricing - shouldn't be in this sort of thread.

  28. Picked up this lot on Craigslist for $40 Ended up containing: 8039 Venator Star Destroyer, 6212 - X-Wing, 8018 - AAT, 7754 - Home One, 8017 - Darth Vader's Tie Fighter, 8036 - Separatist Shuttle, 21002 - Empire State Building, 41171 - Baby Wind Dragon. Most of these sets were complete in the bags. Took barely an hour to build them all. A-Wing windshield was eaten by someone's dog. Otherwise, everything seemed to be there including figures. Resold the large box of random stuff for $100 the next morning on Facebook after browsing it to see if there was anything worth the trouble... there was not. So in the end I made $60, and got 9 sets, being the pass through for a large box of miscellaneous blocks.

  29. Nice set, high demand, low supply. Basics. Once they overproduce this thing again, the price will drop right back 10% under retail. It'll get interesting if this thing retires unexpectedly.

  30. Hi all. Thought I'd help keep this thread going. Brisbane, QLD. Just out of my 20 year dark ages as of Dec 2015. The set that did it: UCS Slave 1. Already purchased far more than I ever owned as a kid. Collecting at the moment rather than investing, for now. Happy to share in the general sales news etc.
