It is weird that the last one with grey hair is holding a lightsaber. He should have been holding a bottle of green seacow milk8 points

Care Corner is complete. Total cost was $136.03. This doesn't include the spares from bulk lot purchases in the past that cleaned up most of the bricks... because old spares are free, right? I had purchased a $155 lot that had the first floor, but it arrived smelling like death and cigarettes, so it went back. The real winners of the picture though are the dragons from our "let's take apart all the dragons and build them again" weekly fun. The two headed dragon my toddler inspired "two head's on the dragon, daddy" earned the spot on the Cafe Corner.6 points

If there is one thing I’ve learned from here , is that lightning rarely strikes twice unfortunately.3 points

I'm concerned overall at the flood of Jurassic sets to begin with. I know dinos usually do well, but there does need to be a gap in availability from Lego retail.2 points
-
I must be using a different ebay than you because I didn't find a single sold listing for Indoraptor or 75930 that finished in that price range. If you're truly looking to buy a new dino for your collection, just get one from BL for $25.2 points

I think the movies were just not that good. The prince of persia middle east connection would have made the sands of time game in 2003 quite an issue as 9/11 was only just two years before. It sold very well and within a decade led to a crappy movie. The old western themed sets and lone ranger ones will probably not age well, I'm afraid. As an investor I would take that into account when purchasing. I just hope people will not start about the friendly portrayal of pirates being insensitive to their victims...1 point

Margot Robbie + slutty cosplay outfits + bat$hiz cray cray = $$$ bat$hiz cray cray is ALWAYS entertaining (as long as not YOUR ex)1 point

Go down to a local trade centre / hardware store / wholesalers and talk nicely to the warehouse supervisor and you can typically get one for free [emoji1360]1 point

Lowe's or Home Depot probably sell pallets. Tractor Supply and Rural King are probably good places too.1 point

I just repeat the contents. Less likely to be stolen or pried apart. Never put LEGO on there.1 point

If it makes it back to retail, that's good enough for me, I'd buy them in at 40% off. The question is if it makes it back to retail or if it stays at about 100 bucks...1 point

I thought about it for a bit, and did a bit of research on how to clean it. Once I looked at what actually came on the first floor, and compared it to my spares, I realized there wasn't all that much that I didn't already have. Ended up with less out of pocket total using the spares/bricklink method than the smelly bulk lot.1 point

I have had good success washing those kinds of lots in luke-warm water with regular hand soap, and if the smell persists, spraying the bricks with fragrance-free Febreze and then washing again. Had a 4708 Hogwarts Express lot the other day that I kept double-bagged until I had time to wash the bricks, that's how bad the smell was.1 point

Add to the fact everyone hoarding it will be hoping for Indominus performance.1 point

LEGO store manager told me a while ago that the "large set coming out" (ended up being the Upside Down set) was the beginning of a new series. The series hadn't been defined yet, but there was going to be more sets tied to it. I suspect they were testing the waters with the first set to measure demand / interest.1 point

They might have got a good deal on the MF. Using that leverage to try to get a SD. Seems like a good trade to me, instantly $100 off the MF.1 point

Wal-mart finally rolled back their hidden sides sets 20% off, Amazon should follow suit shortly. I like the bus, I'm otherwise not too into the theme. I did get that lab for $11 clearance at Wal-Mart in store 2 days ago maybe I'll build that tonight and test out the app. Just doesn't seem to be much depth.1 point

Well I just tried to create a listing for an EU version of a LEGO set that wasn't in Amazon's catalog already and failed miserably. I thought everything was good as the product initially successfully listed, but now the listing is showing as "INVALID_ASIN - This item must be removed. - and it won't let me convert it to FBA. If anybody knows any workarounds, let me know. PM me as I'm willing to pay someone to get some EU versions of sets listed. How does ToyCentric get all his alternate EU listings up? Do you all think it was the EU set EAN number that was the issue?1 point

The LEGO investing business is a lot easier in the US, people there seem to buy anything that is EOL. In Europe you can delete everything Super Heroes (and Simpsons) from your list. So, the real investing experts are the European guys: Much more wrong buying choices, fewer discounts and less profit to be made.1 point

Finally finished Welcome to Apocalypseburg (70840), I held myself to one bag per day since it arrived from Walmart. Also had my first wrong/missing piece in a Lego set. But I've already got an order in for a replacement. 6258376 - LEFT SHELL 3X8X2 W/BOW/ANGLE. My almost three year old daughter thinks it's very cool and helped me finish it today, then an hour or so later crashed down onto it so I got to rebuild a section of it already. It was the Lego Movies and having a kid that brought me out of my dark ages so it's appropriate that this is the first really big set I've gotten. I really like the movie sets and vehicles because they are made to be Lego rather than adapting something from Star Wars or Marvel, this one is no exception.1 point

I was thinking they would just use The Scuttler. The first cross-license re-release.1 point

Wynona Ryder was more likeable and less frantic this season. Hopper overacted, but he was ok, everyone else was great. The girl who plays Nancy is a great actress.1 point

Steve or Max would have been nice. With a $200 set out, an in-store build of Castle Byers, the "Iconically Stranger Things" Lego Ideas challenge (the winner nailed it by the way - picture attached), and now an exclusive minifigure for SDCC '19, it makes me wonder what else TLG has planned down the road.1 point
