My local store has a "retired and damaged box" discount table that I like to check out. Plus they seem to sell off older random GWP sets from time to time. Not much in terms of "exclusives", other than perhaps the Lego Shop building. You can always check out some of the sets they have on display. UCS ISD....

Would Ninjago City be a good investment piece and if so, is 20% off about as good as it will get? I’ve only been doing this since July but I feel like the more pricier pieces never really seem to go on sale, i.e., the Apollo V, Voltron, Hogwarts castle for example. Or do they usually go on sale during Black Friday weekend? Thanks in advance for the input.

We got the full straight from the US version when I was little. Can still remember wondering what a trash can was and marvelled that butter could be sold in sticks. Some of the tunes I can still sing (poorly). I liked the pinball counting bit... one two three four five...six seven eight nine ten ...eleven twelve.? Do they still use that one?

For those who are interested, I posted before on 10257 to be retired 0n 31 Dec 2020, it seems that the date has been revised to 31 Dec 2019 instead.

One of the more recent changes that kills me is that they made all fixed price listings be 30 days and renew automatically. No more options to run a 3 day or 10 day fixed price listing. Since that change, without fail, my listings get MUCH more activity in the week before expiration and the week after renewal. People only look at either "ending soonest" or "new listings". I always used to have a bunch of 10 day listings for things that I wanted to move and the 30 days were for things that I figured would sit around for a while. Now, everything is basically forced to sit around for a while. Maybe I'm unique in getting the higher activity around renewal date, but it really bothers me that they made that change. I don't do auctions, but I'm thinking about starting to and just putting a high starting bid just to test the waters of having some listings renewing more often to drum up some interest.
