Lots of great memories watching Sesame Street for me. I still haven't watched it since it went to HBO.2 points

To me the problem is they want to change eBay to be like Amazon. That is a losing battle long term. They should have emphasized and improved eBay's unique strengths so it will stand a chance to compete vs Amazon. Not sure if the new board share my sentiments though2 points

As a dad who is currently watching Sesame Street, I'm excited about that. I never liked the pirates that much and this one just seems like a suped up 6270 Forbidden Island like I had as a kid.1 point

Sales have slumped. Limits have been raised or lifted on most sets. Banhammer has been retired.1 point

I am not brave enough to do pre-orders like this. It is going to be tough to get 30-50 copies by end of October to fulfill those orders1 point

That’s what I was going to look into. The only issue would be that assuming I get ungated will I be able to list my retired sets purchased retail at some point? I’m looking at this as a long term investment, so losing money in the beginning by using EED would be worth it but again I don’t want to be stuck only being able to sell EED sets that have no real profit potential long term.1 point

the garage sale went well...the best part was it intiated the cleansing process for our Hoarding disease...we have a recycle & clutter day coming from our garbage company so everything not sold STAY OUTSIDE THE HOUSE...to offer perspective...we have our living room back again (roughly 20x 30 ft space) after about 8 FREAKING YEARS...more perspective: based on going housing prices that amt of space would run between $500-$1K/month...which would be between $50K-$100K over that period...SLAP MY HEAD! back on topic: the shelves of LEGOs were the star of the show. I had my boy pick out and bag separately all the MFs for teh sets that were complete with box. Most of those sold...not a single person tried to haggle the price on LEGOs either (Hmmm)...they all seem to understand their value....even used. All the NISB sets sold right away which were prices about 20% off BL. And I've already gotten a coupld emails from folks who missed it and was asking about the LEGOs. Seeing how popular the LEGO sale was for this area, I may arrange a multihousehold LEGO only selling day...the prices I got, in general were akin to ebay but without the shipping hassle and no fees....and during the ull I got to work around the garage a bit...win-win1 point

Last time I spoke to a rep there..he mentioned the sets they had were via a 3rd party.1 point

They have sets listed on there, but have you looked at the prices? They're RRP or higher for the first tier. Even the best tier is maybe a few % off RRP. Plus their ridiculously priced shipping charges on top of that. And they usually only sell stuff on there that they have trouble selling on their retail site.1 point

EE lost their ability to wholesale LEGO a few years ago when LEGO was tightening up all channels. Maybe they got it back, but it was never viable for selling at retail on Amazon. If I recall it was ~17% off RRP for licensed and ~23% off RRP for non-licensed. EE lost their ability to wholesale LEGO a few years ago when LEGO was tightening up all channels. That's the whole hell of the issue. A certificate is one thing, but asking for the CPC full test report . . a hundred + page testing report is just so freaking dumb. I'm shocked any new sellers are approved for the toys subcategory and Amazon likely wants it this way with all the counterfeiting issues they've seen.1 point

And the CPCs are a total pain. Last year when they threatened to shut listings down if sellers didn't supply a CPC testing report for the product, I took the issue all the way to the Bezos escalation team to make the argument that the federal regulations only require a manufacturer to issue a CPC certification and do not require them to provide the testing reports. I was able to get a response and they shot me down on it.1 point

Brand gating is one hurdle, clearing the Toys subcategory with a CPC is a whole different animal. You can easily get brand approval on Lego for a non toy product, pencils, costumes, decorations, etc. but it won’t matter if you aren’t cleared in the subcategory. I"m grandfathered on Lego so can't speak to EED for Lego, but I have tried to use EED to get ungated on Marvel Legends with no luck.1 point

I don't believe you can become a lego seller on Amazon now as they gated this product to new applicants unless you pay a hefty fee and provide invoices evidencing that you are a legit purchaser.1 point

Amazon is a different ballgame. Whether it is worth it depends on your goals. But Lego is gated and you have to have wholesale invoices or a grandfathered account or hit some unknown selling metrics to get authorized to sell Lego. Unless you can fit into one of those categories, you won't be able to sell. Sent from my SM-G965U using Brickpicker Forum mobile app1 point

Few years ago I bought some large (Star Wars) sets: Ewok Village and UCS Sandcrawler. Now, 2¾ years after their retirement, I still have them in my storage. I won't put my money into such big large expensive sets anymore. Taking up too much storage space and taking too long to appreciate enough to be worth it.1 point

I'd be careful putting too much faith in that list. There is definitely a lot on there that is retiring this year, but there are plenty that are not scheduled to go.1 point
