  1. I saw this on Facebook earlier today and it gave me a good chuckle. I apologize if it's already been posted before.

  2. the garage sale went well...the best part was it intiated the cleansing process for our Hoarding disease...we have a recycle & clutter day coming from our garbage company so everything not sold STAY OUTSIDE THE HOUSE...to offer perspective...we have our living room back again (roughly 20x 30 ft space) after about 8 FREAKING YEARS...more perspective: based on going housing prices that amt of space would run between $500-$1K/month...which would be between $50K-$100K over that period...SLAP MY HEAD! back on topic: the shelves of LEGOs were the star of the show. I had my boy pick out and bag separately all the MFs for teh sets that were complete with box. Most of those sold...not a single person tried to haggle the price on LEGOs either (Hmmm)...they all seem to understand their value....even used. All the NISB sets sold right away which were prices about 20% off BL. And I've already gotten a coupld emails from folks who missed it and was asking about the LEGOs. Seeing how popular the LEGO sale was for this area, I may arrange a multihousehold LEGO only selling day...the prices I got, in general were akin to ebay but without the shipping hassle and no fees....and during the ull I got to work around the garage a bit...win-win

  3. I refuse to watch this manchild do reviews on sets. I'll wait for another youtuber to get them.

  4. I am not brave enough to do pre-orders like this. It is going to be tough to get 30-50 copies by end of October to fulfill those orders

  5. Who cares about the price years after EOL when you're making money now as a QFLL? Three things: Brickolodon is a member here. The buyers are valued customers, not dummies. The currently listed price is not necessarily indicative of what all 68 copies sold at. Could have been much less when they were in hand to ship.

  7. I get that different people have different tastes and whatnot, but the overwhelming love for this TV show still baffles me. It was ok when it was on but has aged horribly. For me this ranks up there with Barenaked Ladies as unfathomable 90s pop culture triumphs. Don't @ me.

  10. seems like they will keep remaking the grey falcon but probably not the white one (w/ Escape pod)...so if one was going to invest in one...the white one will likely continue to be the "rare" one of the bunch...none of the past grey ones have differentiated themselves significantly (IMO) and this new one just adds to the dilution effect. but the main plan is to the the UCS version before ii retires in the next year.

  11. I recommend adding a bunch more leaves. This has ~60-80 of the smaller 4x3 green leaf elements added.

  14. I once new a man who owned a used car lot. One day he arrived onsite to open the lot and discovered that one of his cars had been stolen during the night. He was enraged, depressed, and scared. Later that morning his mentor arrived onsite and I overheard their conversation. The mentor said "Relax....your lost your first car. And I guarantee you it won't be your last stolen car. Risk is part of the business. Don't take it personally. Keep emotion out of it. Work hard to minimize risk and get better." I try to remember that advice. Ebay is my strongest and best retail market. Humans make mistakes and eventually I'll make a mistake and so will my buyers. I recently shipped two sets to a buyer who claimed there was only one set in the box when it arrived. I knew for certain I shipped both boxes so I assume a theft at the doorstep, Fedex or the Fedex Drop-off location (Walgreens). I forced myself to stay calm and I explained the above to the buyer. I asked for pics of the box and packing material, explaining that I was going to open a Fedex claim. I told the buyer I was sorry - he paid for two sets and only got one, and I offered to refund him for the missing set. (one set was about 15" long and the other was 10" long - both good size). About 2 hours later the buyer emailed me. They were at the hospital. The package was a gift. When the kid opened the box and saw the big set he got so excited, he left the other set in the shipping box wrapped in paper, set it aside and never noticed the 2nd set which was under the bed. So they found the missing set and everything was fine. This type of thing has happened to me before because I wrap things very well.
