  2. Did some fun oldie-but-goody building the past two days. Broke these out of my storage and rebuilt. Forgot how awesome these were. I’ve ordered replacement stickers for the Red Baron. They had pretty much deteriorated. May need to order some for the Sopwith. In better shape, but still brittle. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum

  3. i have sold through all my Ewok Villages Minecraft Villages, GE, Town hall haunted house in last year. all FBA. knock on wood i have had zero scams on any of these large high value sets. i wouldn't even think about selling any large sets FBM because i'm a lazy pos and i like to get top fba dollar. plus every amazon scam begins with selling fbm. only stupid or desperate scammers are going to try and scam an expensive package that has been verfiably shipped out of an amazon warehouse. in my experience, if you are going to sell large sets fba, you have to imagine yourself as the customer and cater to that experience. u spend a ton of dough for an overpriced lego, you don't want a mangled smooshed box. at a minimum, you have to pre-package the set in its own separate new clean properly sized outer box to ensure that it doesn't get crushed by aggressive shipping personnel. and so that if it does gets sent back to FBA, its well protected. this requires more work and labeling and shipping material cost which you will make up on the back end by making sure to price higher than the fbm'ers to collect that premium. i put fba stickers on the set in the box and also on the outer box i send it in just in case returning customer sends it back without my perfectly set up protective outer box. i have not lost any sets to returns doing this. i have had 3 returns in the last 6 months selling large fba and all 3 were resellable w/o me having them recalled. unlike vast majority of sub $80 set returns which are just outright minifigure rip offs. maybe i'm just lucky or lazy and lucky. it's working. most people buying big sets on amazon fba are not scammers but people who believe that fba prime tagged products are somehow more legit or superior than those 3p fbm. i know its crap. thats just how people think. if its prime it must be better. at least that's what we are told to chant at the underground Jeff fan club meetings.

  4. Love those Lego city pics so I thought I'd share one of my earlier city layouts. A lot of changes since, like the amusement park addition and a third level in the wildness area which moved.

  5. no, and Im amazed how many ppl think that the production is over - just a few thoughts why its not and will be back: a) to design, create, advertise + all about any set, is not really cheap so you dont waste your effort at a set selling regularly around 10 USD ? b) its an iconic US landmark - LEGO had to know that before they even contemplated the idea to make it real. Now its sold within a first week or so and you think that they just slap each other's back "great job! - we sold 100.000 units and made a profit cca 500.000 USD.. and that is something.. !" c).. read the latest interim report for the first half year.. the earnings / profit is declining.. who in his sane mind in LEGO would not re-order a new production? Of sometihing that cost a lot to design and market.. does anybody really think that they do care about resellers / collectors? look at the US Capitol.. its been there like forever.. and there still must be thousands in US to buy it otherwise the production would stop..

  10. NOICE! I think this is the reason why there's such a premium on these sets after-market...I doubt resellers have a "ton" of them so it's really tempting to keep for personal build and collection. Much more so than the typical nice set. Is it just the color or does the AFoL sets, in general, have a distinct look about them? (in a good way)

  12. Can use goatleg.com to look up minifigures. Nothing came up with black torso/arms/gloves so someone mixed and matched or it’s a custom http://goatleg.com/torsosearch.html

  15. Buzzfeed, where I go when I can't generate my own thoughts and opinions and someone that was 3 when it came out would totally "get it". "Most popular rarely equals good" as if 25 million were forced to watch it. This conversation is cracking me up.

  16. No.That has happened before with T1, Pet Shop, Death Star and a number of other sets only for there to be multiple later production runs.

  18. It might do well because LOTS of people love Friends, including my wife. I personally think that the show is stupid, and not at the same level of Seinfeld or other comedies, but that's just my opinion before we inevitably buy one on day one. Happy wife, sad wallet?
