  4. Might be old news, but I'd never seen them before. I recently ran out of the common 11x8x4 size shipping boxes and saw Walmart has their own branded shipping boxes in-store for 62 cents each. Decent if in a pinch or don't need bundles of 25+. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Pen-Gear-Pg-11-Ship-Box/909774291 Note: If you're hesitant to have "Walmart" labeling on your boxes, that flap should be hidden once folded and taped into box shape.

  9. Though unlikely, it is possible your customer is not trying to scam you. There are several people on this forum who have witnessed properly sealed and seemingly untampered boxes that ended up missing minifigs. Happened to me with the figs from a Dimensions Fantastic Beasts starter pack that I bought at Wal-Mart. Granted, I could hear loose bricks rattle around, but it would have only taken a bit of tape to reseal the bags and noone would have noticed.

  10. I've sold a bunch of x3 bundles by just putting them in a zip lock bag, tape the seal, and then just slap the label on the bag.

  13. So, Staples is having a sale on several shipping boxes. They are also allowing you bundle the sale with a Buy $100/save $20 and $200/$40. Thanks to odysea I was able to put together a small (but not encompassing) list of boxes you might wish to pick up. You have to spend $50 to get free shipping but it might be worth it: 12 8 3 - https://www.staples.com/12-L-x-8-W-x-4-H-Shipping-Boxes-32-ECT-Brown-25-Bundle-BS120804/product_557502 20 12 4or3 - not available but I did find a 12 high box - https://www.staples.com/20-L-x-12-W-x-12-H-Shipping-Boxes-32-ECT-Brown-20-Bundle-BS201212/product_411827 24 12 4 - found a 6 high - https://www.staples.com/24-L-x-12-W-x-6-H-Multi-Depth-Shipping-Boxes-32-ECT-Brown-25-Bundle-BS241206MD/product_2647440 24 20 6 - not available 16 12 4or3 - https://www.staples.com/16-L-x-12-W-x-4-H-Shipping-Boxes-32-ECT-Brown-25-Bundle-PRA0086/product_426309 in addition I found these: 8 6 4 - https://www.staples.com/8-L-x-6-W-x-4-H-Shipping-Boxes-32-ECT-Brown-25-Bundle-PRA0016/product_481792 16 x 12 x 4 - https://www.staples.com/16-L-x-12-W-x-4-H-Shipping-Boxes-32-ECT-Brown-25-Bundle-PRA0086/product_426309 Hope this helps!

  14. Just a reminder, with USPS charging dimensional weight, there may be some wiggle room with the box sizes. This is something you want to experiment / research yourselves due to zones

  19. well, the lowest BIN listing price for 40335 is $29, and $21 for 40292, so your price is actually a steal. That's why it's sold that fast

  20. Friday Harbor!?! I know a Brickpicker in Friday harbor I've a good friend at Friday harbor Suites, I'm looking into a discount code or something for there. P.M. Me if thinking of staying there MAYBE I'll have a code or something. You wont likely find any LEGO deals here, only marked up S.W stuff. When our store that carries it has sales they usually exclude LEGO.☠️ Whales,Kayaking, hiking, drinking general outdoorsy stuff. Venture out to the beaches you may even find yourself without cell signal, Truly unplugged. It's been awesome this year but don't tell anyone? Also, I'm glad to see a thread that talks about Fred Meyer deals as I hadn't yet seen those mentioned since I've been on.

  21. Here's my $0.02: Seattle: For a budget tour, take a ferry from the Coleman dock to Bainbridge, go to the back of the boat and get great photos of Seattle. When the boat docks walk 1/2 mile to Mora Ice Cream. Or you can go to Pier 54 Argosy Cruises and take the "Locks" Tour. You'll see downtown, go through the lock, and see Sleepless in Seattle houseboat and the boats from Deadliest Catch. Another alternative to the Space Needle is the Sky View tower in the Columbia Center, much higher and cheaper and less crowded, but it's not open air. Whale watching requires a drive and maybe a ferry ride, San Juan Island is where we go from, also neat little town (Friday Harbor) to visit. Portland: Go to Voodoo Doughnut

  23. Add to the listing for the set if three. Put the set of three in a clear poly or ziploc and apply the label for the barcode to the bag. Pretty easy and I sold a ton like this last year.

  24. I found that I have a stash of mixel series 3 in the basement. I plan to send them to FBA selling as a bundle of 3 packs. Does anyone have an idea how to pack those? Maybe I should wrap three of them in a bag and put a bar code on the bag? Or maybe I should selling them individually to avoid the hassle...

  25. I can believe this. I've taken pictures of "Retiring Soon" tags on sets at the LEGO store and other exclusives surrounding them have retired sooner. You almost get the impression that the circle covers up the "er rather than later" remaining portion of the message.

  27. You should have a PLan A and Plan B: My family has visited the PAcific Northwest twice in the late summers in the past 3 years and both times regional fires have made outdoor activities and views a No Go. Imagine Seattle with ZERO views of the mountains..and Portland w/ barely a glimpse of Mt. Hood. We are planning our 3rd trip 2nd week of August this summer as well...fingers crossed. Big ticket items on our agenda this time are the Boeing factory tour and ferry tour north of Seattle to see the Orcas. I'm open to PMs if you have specific questions for someone who recently made the trip as a tourist.

  28. Looks like Portland and Seattle are covered. If you're willing to add Vancouver, BC area to the list, Richmond Night Market is fantastic to check out in summer. At night. Be sure to turn up the volume and play "God Bless the USA" as you cross the border.

  32. 30 years between Ep. 6 and Ep. 7. So the "good guys" were in charge and did... nothing in the way of starship development? Updated the X-Wing design (which was actually a shout-out to the Ralph McQuarrie concept artwork)? The resistance shuttle was supposedly a bastardized B-Wing made into a transport? At this point, I'm fully expecting a Corellian Corvette to be in the opening scene in SW IX. There was more creativity in ship design for Rogue One (a prequel) than there has been in any of the new movies.

  37. I must say I re-use as many boxes as I can get my hands on making sure the clean of any old labels or tape, re-securing both bottom and top and at times the sides if needed. I feel recycling is important and I dont think if done properly it looks unprofessional. Also even if the box is a bit bigger 9/10 times it wont bump you into a higher price point for shipping. I don agree with limiting pillows as much as possible but I do use them and they work well if you dont over stuff the box. Less is more.............

  38. You can deduct all the expenses that went into selling. Don’t forget shipping supplies. You can also deduct credit card interest if applicable. I also deduct part of my utilities (Internet primarily) and expense part of my computer since I primarily use it for eBay. I even have a dedicated shipping computer that is 100% expensed as well as the printer and toner I use with it. I don’t deduct my home office. Here’s why: you can only really deduct and save so much from your home office. But, once you treat that square footage as a business expense, it will be difficult to convert that back to a non-business asset when you get out of selling on eBay. And as a business asset, you do not get the write off of any gains if you sell your home for that portion of the house. So, if your home has gone up in value, the taxes on the equity you’ve gained may be more than you would ever save as writing it off as a business asset. btw, income tax is easy. The tricky bit is if you have to file sales tax to your state. For example, in California, you have to register with the state board of equalization and submit sales tax on a annual schedule based on your sales amount. And when you do, that often triggers the county or city you live in to check your business license status and they will ask you ever politely to get a license. If you haven’t collected sales tax, at least many states will let you deduct the sales tax you paid when acquiring the sets towards the sales tax you should have collected. And if you shipped out of state primarily, that can bring the amounted owed to zero. At least that’s how it has worked every year for me. Although it’s still a pain to have to itemize every set and whether or not it was sold in or out of state and how much sales tax was paid on it originally. Also be prepared for self employment tax (social security x2 since you are employee plus employer) and Medicare taxes. And your LEGO profits will be taxed at your marginal tax bracket as additional ordinary income. It’s good you are asking. If you have good documentation and do everything by the book, it’ll take time, but it’s not terribly complicated. I use turbo tax and have never needed a professional. But I also did lots of research into the tax laws and keep meticulous details of my purchases and sales in a spreadsheet that I update on each transaction. I then create a new spreadsheet every year that has all of my itemized paypal transactions — so that the figure PayPal sends to the IRS is fully accounted for.
