can't keep sand baseplates in stock on amazon at $24.99 fba. making me sick with greed. next round is going for $29.99. remember when these were $5 (or less) everywhere... good times. even more satisfying is that my wife thought i was a fool for loading up on these and repeatedly said so. now when we go out and have a nice dinner i reminder her how many baseplates worth it cost.17 points

I hope LEGO did not have to work too hard to get this IP from MegaBloks. LEGO should have put all energy trying to get the Pokemon IP ?4 points

Wither is a whole different ballgame than Nether. That Black Skeleton is in the Burning Bridge is from the Wither and those sets preformed extremely well for me at least. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum1 point

Wish I had more around me - I managed to get 6 at $11/each the other day from local Target.1 point

I’d buy up all the stock around if you can sell on amazon. Not everything has to hit clearance in order to make a profit. With such a low seller count, I have no plans on selling mine anytime soon.1 point

Filoni and Favreau teaming up reminds me of Lucas and Spielberg teaming up for Indiana Jones. The Mandalorian could be really good. I like that Favreau's #1 value is people need to be a fan of Star Wars in order to be a part of this.1 point

a little sloppy seconds-ish after we've already been spoiled with shelf-haunting mega construx. so on the flipside, i guess there's still a chance we get star trek lego one day and we can get something um, well i'll be nice, something "different" than this.1 point

A little late to the game, it will be interesting to see what the designers come up with. [emoji167]1 point

There's still a little more room on the Kmart gravy train if your store cooperates. I hit 2- 1 local and one a 2 hour drive on an RA road trip. The 10 back on 50 promo ran after the posted date and the cashier also told me it was going past the 3x max. I got 1.5 carts full and went to the 2nd store a few days later and used the $10's to get another cart full. WATCH THE EXPIRATION DATES. Coupons got reduced to 3 days, and only 7 days to spend points. I ended up with lots of small friends and princess sets that are already selling above RRP for just shy of a 50% discount. Winter holiday train dragged me back to Lego again kicking and screaming happily all the way. I found winter train needs some weight in front to put power to track when motorized.1 point

I’ve been wanting to get power functions for my Winter Holiday Train but kept holding off for a good deal on a train set. I gambled on a partially built 60197 Passenger Train that I bought for $71 in an online auction. It arrived today and all the power functions are here! This train pales in comparison to the older trains, but I fear it could be a gateway drug.1 point

yea, the best part about these are how easy it is to get your money back if needed. I could slap this GG on facebook market place and make a nice profit tonight if I had to. The biggest challenge I continually have for my "personal build collection" is keeping its size manageable. At least with the modulars I can tuck them into shelves for display, they look impressive for the non-Lego visitors to my house, and I have something to look forward each year as Lego is consistently releasing them.1 point

Will be easy to do. Just put a Technic connection on the bottom of whatever you want to stick on this, and then stick it in the Technic connector. You can motorize this very easily, as well.1 point

great set concept...and anyone can substitute a horse or dragon or car and still retain the movement features in a MOC1 point

Sold some Ninjago lighthouses for $160 FBA. This set was super easy to stock up on at Targets for ~$40 all day long. Surprised it jumped so quickly, very nice looking build1 point

If I had $80, was primarily a builder/collector, and wanted to test the waters, here's what I would plan: to get the hang of selling: use $40 to acquire minifigs for quick resale. to grow the wealth: bank $40 and wait for a great opportunity to strike For Part 1, research bricklink to identify quick moving minifigures, and then watch for a sale on the sets they come in. Bricklink has a stats page (https://www.bricklink.com/catalogStats.asp) where the most commonly sold minifigs are listed. Picking Harry Potter figs and HP sets, Whomping Willow 75953 is good candidate: the minifigs plus the car and tree are averaging around $58 on bricklink, and it's on perma-sale for $56 at amazon/target. Getting it for $5-10 cheaper is likely possible in the next 2 months. My preference would be to buy two of a cheaper set, and maybe target army-builder packs instead, but this is the basic idea: sell the figs/sub-sets and the remaining bricks are (nearly) free. Minifigs are easy to store and ship, have a good turnover rate, and are a good way to gain experience selling. And in the off-chance things go south (my own stats are a ~2% return/fraud rate), at least you have some bricks for the trouble. Part 2 requires patience and luck. Roughly once a month, a super deal will appear---e.g. LM2 Brickheadz or 70% off at Target clearance. If you have $40 banked, the super deal can be quick-flipped and doubled with a bit of luck. Once 'the bank' is a bit higher (~$150) then quick flipping free-gifts-with-purchase becomes a possibility. Repeat as time allows. A few important notes: Be intentional with your purchases (this goes for more than just LEGO, too). Only use cash to build wealth. Using credit-cards/debt to load up on clearance impulse buys is poor way to go. The interest charges will quickly devour any gains, and you may need to hold poor sellers a long time before seeing any gain. Confirm you can sell on your platform of choice before going 'all in'. I prefer bricklink over ebay, but there are a few requirements to be approved to sell there: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2440 Read Phil B's post again. Good luck!1 point
