Exclusive creator? creator like set? being sold at Legolands around the world. Brickset entry: https://brickset.com/sets/40346-18 points

I've ordered over the phone from Legoland gift shops in the past. Shipping may be high, but it should at least be accessible that way (one hopes).6 points

Big Bang Theory's selling for $95 on Amazon right now & was pretty easy to pick up for $35. Not amazing but I wouldn't call that tanking either.5 points

Agreed. I don't think everything needs to be at a certain relative scale. Besides, the house in the show isn't anything to write home about, so this works and the upside-down is exactly as it should be. I wish they would have included Will's fort somewhere in the build, but overall, this is a pretty good representation of the source material. @Frank Brickowski I respect your opinion but based on your comments, this set just isn't for you. The minifigs included are THE main characters and the vehicle is iconic. Leaving any of those out would not make sense.2 points

I think it’s supposed to go in the other room away from your modulars. Country living!2 points

I dunno....you take away the fancy background artwork and realize it's like 400 pieces. There's not too much for larger structures, more like a bigger people pack. Still have to have one, though.1 point

Most people understand and are respectful and generous. I used to take it more personally, but I know the truth and I am OK with the negative comments. The most negative comments were made out of ignorance. They know nothing of the school or the community or the situation with the diocese. What I do know it's a POSITIVE force in my community and needs to remain open. That's why I fight for it...1 point

I would like to personally thank Huw from Brickset.com. For the past four years, Huw and his team have helped promote the BrickPicker LEGO raffle, even though there are complaints on his site about the raffle and our website in particular. He is one of the good guys! Thanks again!1 point

I just binged both seasons plus the all the after-interviews over 3 sittings. Obviously loved the series. My biggest question about the show was...why 1983? I got teh answer and it's not obvious. Anyway, regarding the investment potential...depends..is this Big bang/Friends type of show or a Harry POtter/GoT type of show? Fans of sitcoms loved their Seinfelds and what now...but their fandom is pretty much limited to entertainment and occasional memes and watercooler chats Fans of Potter and GoT are the ones that dress up for Comicon, line up a day before a grand (anything), and basically identify themselves in some way w/ the shows and their wallet reflects this. ...based upon my recent jump into the show...I am leaning towards the show being of the potter-type...but far far far from the scale....the show is greatly limited in that the kids will eventually grow up and the plot formula is rather limited. The show relies too heavily on 80's nostalgia which will eventually become depleted and the setting seems limited as well...unless the stakes and scale jumps to another level...all the child prodigies team up ala X-men style and takes their gig globally...I don;t see how the series as it stands can continue past a season 4.1 point

A number of new releases have been added to shop.LEGO.com and they included the LEGO® Dragon Boat Race set. This was one of a trio of sets, which were deemed regional exclusives. However LEGO recently announced the end of regional exclusives and promised that although sets will still release in certain countries first, they will eventually be may available via LEGO retail channels and true to their word, that’s the case with this particular set. The set is quite impressive and features a whopping 15 Minifigures and so funky elements to recreate the race of the dragon boats. It also have a decent price, £44.99 in the UK, €49.99 in Europe and $49.99 in the US & Canada. It’s released on June 1st. http://bricksfanz.com/dragon-boat-set-worldwide-release-confirmed/1 point

I wonder if the promotional 40335 Space Rocket Ride is some how related and hope this won't remain "exclusive" and be available on SAH at some point later this year.1 point

Maybe, maybe not - plenty of that CNY red on the box makes me comfortable with a small punt on this one.1 point

I apologize for being such a slacker around here. Thanks for the last reminder. I just got my tickets and I feel I should win the amusement park sets with ticket w666. Maybe this will be the one carousel I will like. For some reason the repetition gets to me with others I have built. Good luck everyone.1 point

I guess this set would be terrible investment as nobody would remember the show in several years1 point

I think what's causing the..."run from the room" reaction is exactly the show's selling point...its a time warp to 1983...taking parts from Goonies, E.T. and Stand by Me w/ a Nightmare on Elm Street kicker...once you get past the nostalgia factor (a time before internet & cell phones) it's getting to know the main characters and how they develop. After a few episodes the standard plot formula becomes obvious, but it's all good cheesy fun.1 point

I concur with this. I wasn't a fan initially either, but the show does improve. Also told myself "I'll wait for a good promo or at least double points to pick this set up." My patience lasted only as long as it took me to get off work and casually go see it in person at the store... whoops.1 point

We have had a few questions about entering the LEGO raffle from Europe and other parts of the world...YES..YOU CAN! As long as you have a valid shipping address and you don't usually have issues receiving packages via UPS or Fed Ex or similar, you can enter. I have shipped to Belgium, Canada , United Kingdom, and Singapore. I will also accept PayPal payments to my personal account and buy tickets for you if you don't want to use a credit card. ONE WEEK LEFT and we are at $10,000.00. Thanks for the support.1 point

Unless there was some great promotional payoff factored in for Bricklink (awareness/new users, etc) - I don't think they will be making a profit (certainly not a worthwhile time/effort profit, simply based on selling the sets). In this round, I would hope that they are learning from their mistakes (I can't imagine just throwing this project together without an overwhelming number of issues taking place). Maybe things have been well thought out, and it's been nothing but smooth sailing - but I just couldn't imagine that. Even with the likely headaches, I would still say that it has been a great success. On the forums, the builders/fans/collectors have all been very enthusiastic - it is great to see.1 point

I really think it was the CNY sets that did it. Personally know multiple folks celebrating CNY, Tet, lunar new year that were very upset these were only available in a few places in Asia proper. Marginally based on per capita spending on LEGO these sets were a huge fail and loss. These sets were some of the most original, creative and just plain cool sets to come out in the last few years and they weren’t even available in most markets. I would bet more money is spent on LEGO by people who’s families emigrated from Asia than is bought by folks living in that region. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum1 point
