  1. That 80’s commercial TLG created for this is probably the best video they’ve ever done.

  2. Not knowing the source material at all, that's what boggles my mind. I need to see it in person (or at least real build pics) to be able to wrap my head around it. Very cool, nonetheless! Edit to add: No sooner did I say that, then LEGO posted this on their Instagram account:

  3. Lol. I’m gonna take a minute to tell you why I’m not your customer, because I didn’t have time to ask you the question I needed to know in order to be your customer. Just thought you’d like to know, money is not important to me, but my time is. Except when I’m correcting other people. I have plenty of time for that.

  7. ...which means it's very likely the commercial was actually NOT done by TLG itself (and more likely by the Netflix production team of the series instead)...

  9. I don't know how I missed this the first time around but the front of the box has an upside down Lego logo on the bottom so you can see the Upside Down right side up if you will. The box art is STUNNING!

  10. I believe this will be worth seeing in person today. Ive got $65 in VIP credits just hanging out...

  11. Nope. 2500 is it, and they sold them all. One of the managers told me he was so busy he forgot to order a castle, and now he can’t get one! I would expect that they do make some extras on the ones that didn’t sell out, and sell them later, but not too many. LEGO said sales had to stop June 30, so I’m sure they won’t do anything to upset them.

  12. images from: https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-stranger-things-75810-bilder/ clearly the set just flips over...the top of trees appear to be the base for both scenes

  13. I am a fan of the show, but not a super fan, just enjoy it. The build has a lot of substance, even if the home is a repeat on the bottom. Eleven could be better/different outfit, but thats my only real gripe, the brick count in my mind makes it worth it. I also like cars and wanted the Blazer as well. Seeing it in person did drive me to buy. The box is about the size used for the Ferris Wheel. It will be interesting to see how this sells. I was the first to get it around Noon EST today at my store.

  17. An eBay user took the time to send me a message explaining why he chose to purchase a Disney CMF listing that was priced higher than mine, because of uncertainty of what he'd get based on my product description. I said they were new, sealed, but I used a stock photo of the minifigs and hadn't added an actual photo yet. I just thought that was kind of nuts, because it would take just as much effort to ask me the question before buying to clarify that they were indeed new and sealed, and he could've saved himself a buck or two.

  19. In an alternate universe, Lego pulls a fast one and these are labeled under regional exclusive and are made widely available for purchase in 3 to 6 months after June 30th.

  22. I’ve heard this will be exclusive to the NYC stores for a couple of months, but based on their new exclusives policy, it should be available on LEGO.com and TLS at some point.

  23. Would it be possible to add the RRP to the Brickfolio export data? I see it's got piece count and set year but RRP would be handy for me. Thanks for all your hard work, Jeff and Ed!

  24. The source material choice and the marketing of this set make me think that Lego is trying to broaden their potential user base outside of kids and established AFOLs. I'm curious to see if they continue to make a more concerted push in different markets.

  26. despite the unloved state , stumbler is finally charting better growth and less of a loser than dred 5 or tower of orcstank. but yeah, its not going to be a village or 10667 anytime soon. i got sucked into a few or 20 believing that Millennial's were capable of nostalgia with 10 year anniversary of H.Ledger's passing and dark knight's release on the horizon at the time of EOL but those have come and gone so the only "hope' left is a seller count dwindle down . if you care about cagr, you sold these a long time ago. lol - i guess i don't because i still have a few left to remind me of what a numbskull i am for going off the cliff on this one.

  27. Never even heard of this show until this LEGO series. Checked it out and ended up binging first 6 episodes...till 4am! Love all the 80's references...very cool Goonies vibe. ...btw...does Wynona Ryder character EVER comb her hair?

  28. I would love to hear from Plastic Passion and others who bought tens of these each without prior investing experience. Wondering how they look at that investment now. Probably wondering why they are being called out by someone with 20/20 hindsight. We have all probably made investing mistakes, not sure the point of rubbing someone's nose in it.

  29. This stuff makes me relieved I've only sold new/sealed sets...and then I remembered the fruitcake that asked me to open the sealed box and take pics. haha

  30. Legitimate questions, which most of this exchange was, aren’t an issue. I wouldn’t even minded if he asked me to build the thing prior to buying it, I still wouldn’t have, but to be so worried about it being genuine and not want to build it is a fruitcake move.

  31. Unfortunately I I ask some of the same questions.I have bought numerous sets that have mega blocks or some other lego. There gave been pieces missing even though they state 100% complete. I do this so there is some evidence that was asked in case of a problem and eBay can look back.

  32. Had a used set listed BIN, no best offer, but of course I get somebody coming in at 30% off. I send them offer meeting them in the middle. I then get a bunch of questions. Prospective buyer: Is the set genuine Lego. Including the minifigs. Me: Yes. You can see Lego branding on the minifigs. Prospective buyer: Do you have the box? Me: No. Prospective buyer: You verified it is 100% complete? Me: I built it and ordered the missing pieces form Bricklink. I then took it apart in separate bags that match the instructions. Prospective buyer: Are the pieces from Bricklink genuine? Me: Yes. I should have blocked this guy at this point, but later that evening he bought the set and took until the next morning to pay for it and then sends this wonderful message. Buyer: I would like for you to kindly do me a favor and built this for me (^_^) and ship it in 1 complete piece inside big plastic bag and then tied it so when some pieces become loose they’ll stay inside the big bag(like clear trash bag maybe..lol) you can then put inside boxes with bubble wrap securely wraps around it inside boxes. I hope this possible, let me know thanks. Me: Unfortunately, I can't do this. The listing stated that is would ship disassembled and the reduced price did not factor in additional time to build or the additional cost to ship. I can cancel the transaction, just let me know. Buyer: It's ok, I'll have to build it myself. Please ship ASAP. Ugh. I should know better than to engage with buyers that have a ton of questions, but I've had some great transactions that started this way and they have lulled my defenses against buyers like this. Isn't the point of Lego to build the thing. I know others have received this request, but I didn't expect this after all the back and forth.

  33. I believe its torso and leg are the same as other end game figs other than the racoon. as for his helmet, I think it's the same as those used in 76107 and 76108 so no no
