  1. Finished building the Lego Story set. Pretty neat build. There were a couple sections in the build where I think a professional designer would have done it a little better, but nothing that distracts from the final model. The 4 vignettes don't actually connect or hinge together, which is something I might try to mod. The instructions were pretty good, but since I make instructions for our sets I have a more critical eye. There were a couple steps where some subassemblies could have been easier. I think it comes from digital building vs physical building. Sometimes you need to physically put pieces together to see what order makes most sense. There were no missing parts, which is good. There are actually a fair amount of extra parts, but I'm not sure if that is intentional, or just variation in hand packing the sets.

  2. I know it does not compare to the amazing set ups shown but my daughter made this as she wanted to try to sell some extra figures she had at an open market. We had tons of fun and actually had profit after spending too much money there during the day. We will go back in the future and use the ideas shown in this thread.

  3. Thank you. The cardboard sign I got from my local TRU right before they closed. It was at the end of the Lego aisle. The stand I bought off amazon for $30. They help make the booth look more “official”.

  6. Here is my set up from the last show I did before Christmas. It’s a lot of work but if the timing and venue is right then you can make a lot of sales with no online selling fees. Print up business cards and hand them out as well. I’ve developed a lot of local repeat business and a growing reputation as “That Lego Guy”. I preferred the open u-shaped set up since it allows me to interact a bit more than from across a table. That’s just me though.

  7. All joking aside this sets Backordered here in the states. I bought mine May 4th at the Lego store and do not regret anything, in my opinion this is the best release of a tantive lV Lego has ever released. Glad to get it retail than to watch it retire again and look at over $500 later. Lol Added a UCS Stand cause it deserves it, plus with the extra pieces it came with and a few if my own, I added greebles inside the thruster pack. Looks Great!

  10. I actually like the unique element as it is both the classic standard 2x4 LEGO brick and with the axle holes a Technic one as well. I do side with KShine that a plain minifigure featuring the "60 years" logo printed across the back or front of the torso would have been nice to see (maybe even use the brick included here as a makeshift stand) seeing how the minifigure is synonymously symbolic of the brand yet at the same time, LEGO has always been about its blocks of building. The minifigures are that extra touch breathing life into an otherwise empty world of our own creativity. Many of us were introduced to the brand through the Galaxy Explorer or the very yellow original Castle. Others with generations of Technic, maybe even the short lived Model Team offshoot. No matter the case from then to now from box to polybag, the one thing every single LEGO set has is the brick ....and the exclusive element here is exactly that. No more, no less. Just with a little reminder of how far we have come.

  12. My daughter and I finally opened up the Go Brick Me set and had fun building, though I had to raid some extra pieces to finish me. Apparently Lego doesn’t expect two people in a family to share skin tones. Also couldn’t help but add my micro Benny Spaceman. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum

  13. I didn't see the option for a building in which you could get your nails done, gossip about who's sleeping with Wyatt Earp, and do whiskey shots at the same time. @DadsAFOL Did you receive a shipping notification or did it just show up?

  15. I was lucky enough to unload my one and only copy that I got at RRP when it first retired and I was at my personal craze for Lego-vesting. Was literally just at break even after shipping and fees and rivers of tears.
