I had to engage Seller Support to bring back the real, non-bootleg listing for 41179 last week as it got flagged as “adult content” and hence was hidden in the search results. Going for $230+ FBA. Time to send in my last one (bought at $17 at Target).2 points

Last year, just before TRU's bankruptcy, I bought all the 5004913 Nexo Knights Collector Cases I could find when they were clearanced for $1.98. Ended up paying $1.77 each after tax and rewards/coupons etc. Sometimes it's the not-so-special sets that are the best. -------------------------------------- Items in Order: -------------------------------------- * [New] Light Bluish Gray Plate 16 x 16 (x14) ..... US $5.55 each = US $77.702 points

Hi guys, new here. I started collecting Lego sets last year at the grand old age of 32. Started with Star Wars, but love the Expert Creator Modular series.1 point

Hi all, I couldn't find a thread along these lines, so thought it would be worth starting a discussion. Have many of you run pop-up shops before? I've run a number at local LEGO shows/toy shows, and figured there may be a lot we can learn from each others experiences. I've gradually grown my main popup over 5 years, now running a ~8m frontage and two registers. We typically have 3 staff to run the space, and use Vend as our POS as it's fairly easy to upload by excel stock files and manage payments etc. I actually didn't manage to get any photos of my last big show, but here's some from a small show we did earlier last year and the year before. I've seen some shops choose a "customer walk-through" style space, but that seems to be an awkward use of space IMO. Would love to hear about other's experiences! Also happy to answer questions about mine (within reason obviolusly). Cheers1 point

There are no star wars winners anymore unless its limited release (vader bust - and this could be temporary). Are any of the other Infinity War sets doing well? It was a huge movie. I think you can put that on your list. Did you see the prices of Infinity Gauntlet comics skyrocket after that movie came out? I don't particularly see the appeal of this set. We just built it a month or so ago. It was a boring build, but decent playability and minifigures. Maybe the Corvus figure?1 point

I'd like to know the reason why THIS set... a) Blockbuster Movie effect b) Minifigure(s) c) Marvel Sets Completist (this one being the weakest and hence least popular set) d) Infinity stone completist I think it's a, b but easily All of the above If we can extrapolate to Staw Wars sets especially w/ the next movie coming out...1 point

This just goes to show that not every superhero set is a joker steamroller. I must admit, unless the buy in is ridiculously low, I’ve been hesitant to pull the trigger on most superhero sets since my joker steamroller debacle. Marvel does seem to outperform DC, however.1 point

Not I. I passed on at least 20 @$25 each. Figured if no one was buying at $25, it would take 3-4 years to hit SRP.1 point

Gotta get those yellow Infinity stones...I forgot about this set too, so had to BL the stones.1 point

https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-harry-potter-75965-75958-offizielle-bilder-vom-friedhof-und-der-beauxbatons-kutsche/ Images from above link at Stonewars These look NOICE! The carriage w/ the 2 pegasus (should be 6 right?) seems straight out of Cinderella...looks good but even better since it opens up as a playset Cemetary captures a pivotal scene and iconic Tom Riddle monument...horcrux of the cup is a special touch...even looks like the rat's right hand is different color...the details matter (and we get a deatheater)1 point

I’m not sure why, this set kind of called to me. Meijer had these marked down to $25 during a Santa Bucks period, so I picked up several there too.1 point

Get a table cloth made, or print a banner to spread across the front table. Banners can be tricky to secure, so getting table cloths printed would look a lot cleaner, more professional, and would be great advertising signage. Hide more boxes under your table as well. Here’s an example:1 point

Averaging around $90 on eBay for brand new/sealed sold listings that aren't knock-offs from China. Pretty solid for a set available for $15-$27 on Target and WM clearance this past winter. I'm surprised there isn't more chatter in this thread. It will be curious to see if the price will continue to rise once the latest movie hype dies down.1 point

Great set up - my personal preference is not to have a cash register / any money on the table.1 point

The calculator is pretty dead on every time I use it. One of the better tools out there for a quick running value to go off of. Priced 3 or 4 collections the last year alone and all were within a few hundred of the numbers I run when valuing so to save a lot of time can just use the calculator. So I would say their values are pretty spot on and the process does work as it is.1 point

Time just flies by while in that little digital world. I certainly played my share when I was in my last Lego dark ages. Was probably the last video game my son and I played together. He would kick my tail at everything else.1 point

Lego 41179 Queen dragons rescue for $159.00 plus shipping. Picked up a dozen or so last year for between $30-40 when they went on clearance. Think I have about 8 left and the price seems to keep climbing on these.............1 point

Not sure how Canadian WM clearance cycles work, but these could be had for $49/$74 USD last winter clearance.1 point

Because the data we get from ebay is not clean, and if you ever take a look at ebay listings, they really aren't the best. People have no idea how to post stuff, so yes, I have a bunch of scripts and filters, etc, etc , etc. But then even after I do that, I still don't find everything. Its not like its a perfect 1 to 1 exact match of set to value. Do you have any idea how many people put New sets listed as used and vice versa? I would say that 50% of the listings need to be reviewed. Do you want data or do you want good data?1 point

Sold some Ninjago lighthouses for $160 FBA. This set was super easy to stock up on at Targets for ~$40 all day long. Surprised it jumped so quickly, very nice looking build1 point

the easiest way if you don't want to type (and hella lazy) is take a high resolution picture of all the manuals (make sure set #s are clear) and post the pic make some blanket statements of completeness (especially minifigures) and condition (display only or played with) and then solicit offers1 point

I managed to find a better picture from my 2018 big popup on my wife's phone. In order to display as much stock as possible, we just have one of each set on the table, then extras stacked below the table and out back. It's a tricky one, as it saves space, but also causes some inconveniences. I think it's worth it in order to display more stock, but I'd love to hear if others have had experience with this dilemma! For our big 2019 popup I intend to have the shelves 50% higher (2.7m rather than 1.8m) and a bit more brand presence. I'd love to hear how others have found marketing in these situations1 point
