  1. What’s wrong with party favors? I always thought they were more like a thank you to guests for coming, especially birthday parties where guests/kids brought presents. Oh and I picked up a couple of these beauties for $30 each at a Ross. Those places, like TJ Maxx and Marshall’s, often have treasures...aka free money.

  5. My son really enjoys the new maps and game options. Easter eggs, cake and treasure is all that I hear him scream about. I guess that's better than shooting people up on GTA 5 or lighting them on fire in Red Dead Redemption 2.

  6. I hope so. Have a lot. Went pretty deep on this promo. It's been a bit slow to start. Pretty limited on what you could buy to get it though so that has some to do with it. Great box though and has the marvel 10 years logo which is pretty cool.

  7. And so the latest major update to Minecraft had fallen just a few days ago. I must say villages now are vastly more interesting than before and about time so many mainstay blocks got their proper slab, stair, wall, whatnot treatment. Also world generation in general appears even better seeming more cohesive with less floating islands and weird "worm trails" through the environment. I haven't had to go far down searching for ores aside from diamonds as it should (though I think that could be from the last update like many of the passive mobs such as horses being significantly easier to spot close-by). Between the much improved villages and expanded Illager lore, we could see some more nice sets down the road.

  12. I’m almost 39, and I remember getting party favors / treat bags at every birthday party I attended in the mid-to-late 80s. I think they’re more elaborate now, but they definitely were a thing back then.

  13. 20x 30529 Mini Master-Building Emmet The Lego 2 Movie polybags from Target that will be favors for my kids' birthday party tomorrow. I talked with the toy department manager who gave me $10 off for buying in bulk (was hoping for more of a discount, but at least he gave me something and not nothing. He could have told me to "You can all just kiss off into the air" in the words of the Violent Femmes). The red card discount also helped. I left at least 50 behind in a bin and have a feeling they will be there for a long time and lonely for a home. If some party guests do not show, I will be able to keep some and display all three builds. Seeing the positive. Being older, I do not get the concept of party favors. It is like getting a bonus for coming to a party and it expected these days. I am more like Lord/President Business, "Well, guess what? Nobody ever told me I was special. I never got a trophy just for showing up. I'm not some special little snowflake." I really need to take a nap...

  15. I know some of these are remakes, like the lighthouse, but I love the idea of a sub and a diving yacht.

  16. Exactly. I think LEGO tried and caved to a handful of fans. Seriously, how many people wasted their time to call or write?

  17. it actually fired up some of the secondary market for a bit though. Which was good. General conversation about the product whether positive or negative is still conversation and will get people to buy other stuff. The 2 biggest threads in a long time have been the TLM2 Bhz and Vader Bust. Not much has drawn excitement like that the past few years. They did get bombarded with people calling stores and complaining that they couldn't buy them but that is what the point of the sets were in the first place. Wasn't like they were doing a ton. It gave the retailers something to chose that was a true exclusive for them as well which was good for them. So now it can just go back to normal overproduced LEGO with no hoopla. Yay

  19. This turned into a "stay off my lawn" "kids are stupid" "they will never be as good as us" "I walked uphill in the snow to school" thread pretty quickly.

  20. This set has some good figures, but including the Steamboat Minifigures and Huey, Dewie, and Louie, which are basically just recolors, brings it down some. Chip and Dale would have been cooler in their Rescue Rangers gear.
