  12. ...and stockpile the Solo Kessel Falcon. If you just can't say no to investing in Star Wars sets, that's the one to buy. I doubt we will see that version again for a long time, if ever.

  13. Exactly. That situation seems to be a unique one at a single store that put them on clearance and kept re-stocking them at the 50% off price. I can't remember who the member was that posted about it, but maybe they will chime in. Definately arm-sweep worthy every time they re-stock. The best I've been able to do on this set is the random Barnes & Noble sale where architecture sets are not excluded and also using CC rewards at Amazon. It seems that just about every Target store is carrying architecture sets now, so these eventually will hit their clearance cycle, but I wouldn't expect them to last beyond the initial 30% to be honest. The other concern is that each store only seems to have 2-3 of these on the shelf, so if you are looking to stock pile these then other creative (and legal) ways to create discounts will be needed. It's a beautiful set, and based off the performance of The White House and Lincoln Memorial, it should do very, very well. I wonder if Lego has future plans for The Jefferson Memorial and/or Washington Monument to complete the Washington DC architecture sub-theme?

  14. I had hoped that somehow Mara Jade would end up being a student / lover of Luke's and the night Luke confronted Ben she had a premonition to run. She assumed Luke was dead (cause he turned away from the force) and she ended up having a daughter on her own. Luke assumed everyone was dead, including Mara, which caused him to not use the force to reach out for her. Mara, knowing that her daughter (a Skywalker) would be a threat to Kylo Ren and in danger, hid her daughter as far away as possible (Jakku). After all, the Jedi were never allowed to marry. Why? I assume it is because it would produce super-Jedi. I don't buy the "your parents were paupers" line from Kyle Ren. He was trying to manipulate Rey and play off her fears. But love child works too. You never know with Disney.

  15. I'd say they are better than LCP sets. Does LEGO help the LCPs with set review/build-ability, packaging design and process, etc? No. This is more like CUUSOO than LCP. Actually, if you know the history of LEGO Architecture, this is more like Adam Reed Tucker making the first batch of sets in his garage. I'll even go out on a limb and suggest if LEGO views this experiment as a success, it may lead to the demise of the Ideas program. I'm hoping that they allowed the use of some "Q" parts. LEGO produces small batches of elements in colors that never get used in sets so the designers can build prototype models. If the model is selected for production, then the "Q" part gets slated for official production. For example, these prettys go for $1.50 a piece...

  16. I still find myself lacking interest in the whole thing. I kind of get why Lucas stopped wanting to please the fan base, but I'd much rather have Lucas' weird ideas than the direction Disney has taken the whole franchise.

  29. I concur with this. On the other hand, I've had people pay full price then send a message saying how much their special needs child is going to enjoy the set. I usually toss in a couple polybags related to the set that was purchased.
