  1. Just finished the Tumbler. I built the Batpod a month or so ago (to prepare for the Tumbler) Very satisfying build; pictures just do not do these sets justice...the Tumbler is MASSIVE and those rear wheels (bigger than the fronts and four of them). I alread have the Batpod under glass and until I find a suitable covered display, I wrapped the Tumbler in surran wrap...lame (I know), but it's a dust magnet like no other.

  14. I feel pretty well versed in culture and interesting landmarks, but yeah...same. The set looks good, but I still think Lego should think about expanding this theme to include ancient ruins like the Machu Pichu MOC and other ancient buildings/structures.

  17. PM’d Walmart at Target and with Redcard got the 20th Anniversary Snowspeeder for $30. Also grabbed the polybag for $4. OfferUp seller at a used Voltron for $100. Couldn’t pass up the chance to have a second set so I can display both the Lions and Voltron. Wife will kill me but I don’t care.

  18. Wasted too much time scrolling through Facebook and for some reason, it doesn't show up for me browsing their page. Saw a direct link elsewhere: https://www.facebook.com/6665038402/posts/10156436250918403?sfns=mo This must be the 2nd time ever that I've seen a LEGO coupon code.

  20. Went to LEGO store last weekend to pick up some sets for upcoming birthdays and take advantage of double pts. Found a harry potter diagon alley 40289 sitting on the 20% off table with a slight ding in the box. As I was checking out I asked if they had anymore. Yep, one more, with a good box. Sold both of them to me for $16 / ea. I wasn't even aware they were selling these.

  21. Just finished online chatting with lego CS. I was able to get my 800expired pts added back to my account. Total noob mistake, wont be happening again. Thank you for this tid bit. I was attempting to save up for the GBHQ before it retired. needless to say i failed miserably.

  27. No qualms with acquiring custom made minifigures and/or elements from sellers upfront stating such are in fact custom made and not trying to pass them off as official product (Brick Builders Pro and Firestar Toys come to mind). Now in the case with off brands guilty in outright copying what LEGO does but subpar quality like Lele, Bela, Decool, Enlighten, Sluban, and so on, the site's stance is quite the opposite. I suppose the short answer would be if the item is made "by the fans for the fans" then it is alright. There are plenty of already established topics to post in but nothing making any mandatory. They are simply there as easy to find, post, and discuss various "catch all" subjects. You can always start up a new thread to show off your latest works.

  28. Makes sense, it’d be hundreds to put that many legit urukhai down, so that helps explain it. I’ve presently dismantled mine in a cleaning effort. I had the original set on display for years and it took 6 hours of sunlight from a certain angle for about 3 years. Added in a second set plus parts for moccing (word?)... but as you can imagine from the UV damage the original took, there were loads of colour variations. I painstakingly dismantled and digitally mapped my build in reverse. Did the peroxide trick over the summer/fall but have yet to polish off my custom instructions and reassemble. If you find the Member Moc thread, I posted pics of it in there a couple years back. happy to send the ldd too if you like.

  29. Thanks! I just brick-built it and made changes as I progress. So unfortunately no digital files. I'd love to see your creation though! Here's a overhead view and a close-up of the inner courtyard: The layout is based on a cross section art work of Helm's Deep made by a WETA artist. I put an armory in the basement below the inner courtyard (accessible through entrance next to stairs in the inner courtyard), a stable in the lower entrance, and a private dining area on the second floor of the great hall. See here for more detail: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/169563-moc-lotr-helms-deep/ Since I got in the game late, 9471 is worth stupid money now so I only got one. Other than the original figures from 9471 and 9474, the rest are custom figures from eBay (not sure if this is hugely frowned upon in these boards or not......).

  36. Agreed, I just would have liked to see a bit more prominent fixture that would be closer to the original sourced material given the time and effort put into this! Apologies calmdahn, but are you honestly saying this looks like the above photos I posted above? I mean, I feel like it's almost so obvious that you are pulling a prank on me? Are we in bannana land here?
