reminds me...last trip to Orlando we lined up to meet Buzz and Woody...anyway my boy walked right past Woody and went to shake Buzzes hand...and Woody did a great job of animating the snubbed 3rd wheel...hilarious...these characters are well trained...must be a big deal to move up the character food chain and actually be a Mickey Mouse2 points

It looks so-so. Wasted opportunity. Should have made it a 4000 piece UCS set.2 points

If the new sets are similar or an upgrade to the older sets, then the older sets will take a hit. I don't know all the Frozen sets off the top of my head, but I would imagine a new ice castle will be better than the older one.1 point

Day 3: I've been waiting in line for nearly 36 hours now. I can still see my entry point mere feet behind me. Mickey and Minnie have come and gone now 16 times, children are passed out on the ground, apparently suffering from heat stroke. My mind and thoughts begin to wander...am I plastic? Is it really this hot? Is my sharpie capable of working? Do sausages have feelings? I reach for my 3 Lego boxes as I inch closer to my goal. My hands damp, moisture high, the box creases, and I die a bit inside. Worth it? Yes. People have sold their unborn children for a chance to score the coveted autograph of the pair.1 point

that bit sounds a bit condescending...there are many pros and cons of getting a new card that doesn't involve folks that have a hard time managing their monthly budgets....identity theft is no joke and anyone who has serious purchasing ambitions (ie buying a car or home) needs to be vigilant. for instance in CA the spread of excellent credit to avg (1 hit against you) may be the difference of a mortgage percentage point...that point could be an extra $10k in annual monthly payments...kinda puts a $50 lego set in perspective. [rant over and even if you didn't mean it that way...always a good reminder that with every credit card is another exposure that NEEDS to be safeguarded...like adding an extra door to your home...1 point

I get it, it’s classic Disney but I’m a little leery of the Idea line. I have my fair share of cool Idea sets whose appreciation is disappointing, that being said I’m in for 3.1 point

That might be true from a collectors Standpoint, but at that RRP I would be unwise to stock up in the hope of a short Run, there are far better oppurtunities out there.1 point

Please critique this transaction (which on face values seems pretty good) from start to shipped as I want to learn and improve: CL transaction, picked up 3 built modulars (Palace Cinema, Detective Office, & Old Fishing Store (not technically a modular, I know)) for $75 ea. ($225 total) Condition: minor dust but like new and complete w/ booklets and original boxes in excellent condition. After storing it for 2 months (not sure what i wanted to do) I Priced on ebay $199, $210, $220 all shipped One buyer (100% rating) wants all 3 for $600 shipped...I looked into shipping (coast to coast) and negotiated $610 (He does not want the original boxes). Spent 3 hours breaking down and bagging the sets and packing. Packaged re-use large-size bubble wrap and fixed price Priority Mail Large boxes ($17.50 ea); before you cringe at the priority mail boxes...since weight was not an issue I used a 2nd priority box to reinforce the box so all sides essentially double walled. Taped up like a franchise running-back's ankles So here's the math: $610 - fees = $549 $549 - shipping ($53) = $496 $496 - buy-in ($225) = $271 So profit of about $271 or 120% Did I miss anything and what could I have done better? Also when faced w/ the facts above would you consider it a good transaction? Thanks in advance1 point

Meanwhile... at TLG headquarters: #2:”I have a great idea for an April fools joke. First we’ll mark up the new Steamboat Ideas set to some ridiculous price like $90. Then we’ll offer the exclusive mini figures for $3.99 each. If we could make it the easiest to smoosh, and the most abundant in the cmf box... hilarious!” #1: “what a great idea!” #2: “yeah, the Ideas guys would be furious. Sales would bottom out. VPs would lose their job. It would be a disaster! LOL” #1: “what were you saying? I saw something shiny. AnywAys. By the smile on your face I’ll assume you struck gold and will run with your idea. See you later.”1 point
