I can tell you what I didn't sell today.... as I look to be the target of an attempted sting operation
Listed hundreds of sets on Facebook from the last Walmart wave that I don't have a ton of confidence in for long term holds. Had a few buyers ding me about everything, but I wouldn't provide them the deal they wanted.
Another potential buyer dinged me and seemed fine to take my asking price... like overly eager to get the items. After a bit of chit chat with him responding nearly instantaneously to each of my comments, I took a look at his profile. His occupation? Listed as "Detective" at the local police department. After reading that I messaged him that I can give him the physical receipts to the items so he can have them for tax purposes if he wanted them... in which he suddenly lost interest.
I found it quite interesting.
I ship either USPS or FedEx. I’ve found with heavy sets or distance there is a significant difference in price. I almost always ship medium to small sets USPS. I know that complaining about the mail is kind of a cottage industry but, I have been very happy with their service.
I went in yesterday and managed to have them give me one of each with purchase. This particular store had about 10 of each. Probably not too many because this isn’t a new game, just a collection of old games Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum mobile app
stupid unecessarily large Lego boxes...stupid consumers who feel they need a bigger box to justify bigger costs...and stupid Lego marketing for caving into such mindless logic...about half of the large Lego set boxes is air for crying out loud...the "need" for large shelf displays...it's just sick
It all depends on the distance between the buyer and seller. Mailing from coast to coast, 2 pounds is a $0.15 difference between normal priority and medium flat rate. Once you eclipse 3 pounds, you are always better to go medium flat rate. 4 pounds is the tipping point for large flat rate.
Regional Rate A is always a good option though when you can make it fit. I've rarely received Regional Rate boxes in the mail, which surprises me due to their versatility and cost benefits.
Not LEGO but I’ve been using these for Minifigures. Pretty awesome for about .06 ea. sorry I ordered from the app will find link later on Walmart.com
also sorry if in wrong area
Day one on offerup and I picked up an awesome find. $60 got me over 130 minifigs (wide variety) and three 18 gallon bins of built vehicles and random peices. So far I have identified 6765 gold city junction, 6755 sheriff's lock-up, and 6761bandits secret hideout.
Thank you PringleNation!
Thanks to all your help, @lego rules, @betsy805, @KShine, @mizeur, @legorunner, @LegoMan1212. I contacted the seller and she was pretty understanding. I ended up getting a bit of a small refund back and will keep the set. I left her positive feedback so it all worked out.
I personally would contact the seller and tell them how the set came with the intention of getting some money back. If I get a discount i want; great. I leave positive with note saying package came damaged but seller fixed the issue. If no discount; I get a partial refund going through paypal and leave neutral or negative.
