All you that hold these for 8 years and don't crack are gonna have super ragrets. While I'm off on wall street you'll be sitting looking at a shiny sticker wishing you could of had the riches of those loser flippers. I get a lot of calls in the middle of the night of people asking me what to do with these and I just say think of the riches from being impatient. Ed- (what Emazers might say now)7 points

I don't deal with auctions anymore because of this reason alone. Like Anankinisvader said, all mine are BIN with Best Offer set to Immediate Payment Required as well. If a potential buyer sends me an offer, I counter with an offer that is $0.01 less to ensure immediate payment on best offers. If they don't accept the lower offer, then it wasn't a legitimate offer to begin with. No more waiting for payment.5 points

I took a break the other night from writing report cards and, lured by the eBay Bucks offer, did a quick check of what the latest LEGO posts were on eBay. One of the first postings was a 10224 Town Hall for $165 plus shipping! No instructions, only 3 of the mini figures, and clearly missing some parts in that clocktower, but it arrived today and otherwise it is largely complete. Its certainly not the insane $40 Green Grocer posted above, but I'm excited to get the Town Hall for under $190 even if I'll have to order myself a set of instructions and replace some missing parts (I'm in no rush on the mini figures). One of the classes I teach is Civics, and my grandfather worked in local government for awhile, so I've been hoping to to add one of these to my Modulars for several years now!!4 points

Sold my last pair last night. Aside from damaged boxes, sold them all for $55-60 on BL. All going to Europe. Nice quick flip. Normally not my style but something about birds and bushes. Kept my set of 4 for my collection and made enough to buy the last one I need Spidey/Venom with the profit.2 points

Sold 42039 (Technic 24 Hr Race Car) NISB for $199 (include ship), which I got locally for $60; also sold a Pair of Emmet & Lucy w/ tabs pushed in (my boy couldn't help himself) for $77 shipped; Used Toy Story Train set ($67 shipped); essentially broke even on that one, but had fun building and play w/ the boy. I want to thanks the folks here who have helped me navigate the murky re-seller waters...these recent sales have helped my wife change her tune a bit from "No more Legos ever, Ever, EVER!" to simply "No More Legos ever".2 points

That's just your buyer paying quickly. The immediate pay requirement forces a buyer to pay at the time of purchase, once a best offer is accepted on either side that requirement goes away. You can put "please pay immediately" or something similar with your counter offer, but your buyer can checkout and take up to 2 days (if memory serves) to pay regardless of what you write.1 point

It sure does. Another supporting argument to get out of the "stalling exclusives" investment strategy.1 point

Yeah I will remove it, I'll practice on the others first. Some people are really dumb and ill leave it up the listing until I remove it. I really just haven't had the time lately to post a lot on my page. This weekend will probably allow for some postings. As a collector of the BHz, I really want to open the sets that I do have, but along with the Mice, I think these will be the only ones I've kept in boxes.1 point

I imagine their will be another round. I think letting BL work out any design issues with packaging, shipment, replacements, etc. is probably a good idea. This is a crowd funded project, so there are bound to be some minor kinks before it becomes an annual or semi annual event. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum1 point

I'm the same way. Ran my 1st auction in a long time and of course 2 days later person hasn't paid.1 point

It is a really old trick sellers used to do to avoid paying final value fees to eBay. It was made useless by eBay a longtime ago. Just hit cancel and choose "buyer asked to cancel" as reason1 point

Found a good bargain on some local used sets... I figured they wanted $10 each but nope, $5 each... have only gone through the SW set so far, it was missing instructions and like 8 minor pieces. All minifigs were there though... Bricklink here I come haha Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Brickpicker Forum mobile app1 point

So after the first one came back as a bootleg, and was returned for a refund, I decided to go on a hunt for a real GG. Started typing anything and everything into eBay, at 2am while feeding the baby, and ended up misspelling "Grocery". A listing that had been sitting for a few days at $59.99 OBO. I low balled them (instantly regretted it with fears that someone else would randomly find this listing) and the offer was accepted within a few minutes. The next morning I looked at the advertisement and saw that it had been removed from eBay "This listing has been removed"... the seller account gone as well. Figured I really **** the bed this time around... listing gone, seller gone, and offer accepted at 2am.... Friday it arrived, missing a few pieces and all the figures... but it's genuine and fits in just fine.1 point

All of my listings require immediate payment now. I got so tired of trying to collect on people who purchase your item and don't pay. This helps sift out the riff raff and get you to serious buyers. Unfortunately in only works on BIN listings and not auctions. Now I don't list auctions.1 point
