whatever the reason behind it, which I think is being seriously overthought, it was a definite needed boost to a slow sales time so mission accomplished.5 points

Happiness is.......when you buy a massive LEGO lot that you that was a great deal to start with, but then get home to discover there is a GG, CC, MS, AND MARINA BAY SANDS hidden within the boxes (all used). Needless to say, my back is sore from all of the cartwheels I was doing last night. My kids thought I was insane!! Good stuff......3 points

I don’t really think these are comparable at all. Those sets were $20 for a $5 poly with a number. These are in a relatively popular line, with recognizable characters tied to movies, and the cost is in-line with expectation. Also, many think these are the last non-seasonal Bhz, so this is the last chance to get cool Bhz. Also there’s only 5k each. The 60th sets were trash. Other than the LEGO gwp, most of the items around the 60th were overpriced and uninteresting.2 points

OOP was about $5 and the rest was Kohl’s Cash. RRP is $580. Thank you Kohl’s for this incredibly lucrative round of clearance. And I have another $40-50 from Y2U rewards coming next month. I’ll let the wife spend those2 points

didn't sell it today, however, I just sent off to amazon 60 dimensions sets, that average price is around $27 for $1613 worth of dimensions prior to shipping and fees. props to Slimers at $30+, Teen Titans and Ninjago team packs for boosting the overall margins p.s. I dumped a few stragglers from series 1, Chima, LOTR, etc, I think they produced a TON of those, still sub $102 points

Today I built the 30023 Lighthouse polybag from 2011 that I BrickLinked the parts for under $3 and built a MOC of the 75125 Star War Series 3 microfighter Resistance X-Wing Fighter to make it look like Poe's X-Wing Fighter. Those parts cost under $5. I used the Poe minifigure from set 75012. One of the Wedge, Plate 3 x 4 with Stud Notches is not made in orange, so I got the next closest color which is bright light orange to maintain the orange color throughout the body of the fighter. My son built the car from 30529 The Lego Movie 2 Mini Master-Building Emmet polybag and showed it to one of our dogs. The dog, though mildly interested, does not seem all that impressed. Cats may not even care, or think it is a new toy for them…2 points

Huge risk is a bit dramatic. You minimum have 90 days on most exclusives before wide release to get rid of. Worst case you lose a few bucks on the last few if you don't want to hold.1 point

I had a few of those 60th anniversary sets (House, Windmill, Truck), and those also did well right out the gate and then got flooded bringing prices down. That must've just continued to drop because I just checked recent sold prices and they don't appear to even bring 1x RRP right now. They're not very interesting builds IMO whereas at least these brickheadz are stylish and can be displayed among others if built. If kept to collect, the brickheadz boxes are more visually appealing. The 60th sets got the retro look right, but these look much nicer I dont like Benny's chin strap, I think he'll do the worst.1 point
-
Yeah they are all the 4+ bs now which will cause confusion as the boxes are not as distinguishable from the regular sets. Have had a few returns for that reason.1 point

Yes indeed. Changing times... and marketing I assume. There is also a "2+" age designation as well. Listed as "Pre-school" theme group on Brickset.1 point

Question..... How do you get Brickfolio to update to the most recent month in the summary screen? New Member... I created a Brickfolio back in December. Added a couple of items in both January and February. The charts are only showing Nov to Dec. time frame.1 point

If the LEGO Batman and Ninjago mvie wouldn't have been released, this sequel would do better. Subpar ticket sales does not bode well for more sets for this movie.1 point

He probably means that people are saying these will be reprinted and the ones with the stickers will have, well, meaningless stickers.1 point

Kohl's clearance section (from a week ago). Left it all there except for the Ariel's Royal Celebration Boat 41153 (daughter's birthday). Just checking online sales of hospitals and sandcrawlers I didn't see how I could make a profit with shipping and fees. (I'm not a Amazon seller). Couldn't understand why the Friends sets were not flying off the shelf... what girl doesn't love go-karts and racing?! (I know, there are some girls out there that do). The hospital set was cool... debated a long time on it, but finally left them there. Someone finally bought them all a few days later.1 point

The boxes at Kohl's have been relatively unmolested. My experience was that each column was a complete set in the same order. I typically found Crayon Girl 6th from the rear, and Giraffe Guy 7th from the rear. The Wizard of Oz were roughly 4, 5, 6, and 7 from the front (Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion then Dorothy or maybe it was Dorothy then Lion), but I encountered boxes where I thought Lord Business and Benny were in the first three and Rex seemed to be flanking, I think at 8, because I was feeling for Toto and the baby dino was throwing me off until I felt the hat with hair. Battle Abe was in the vicinity of the giraffe (which I bring up in case his 3L bar makes you think you've found tin man), along with a few of the microphone people. Seal codes are 48S8 Three Kohl's and 13 complete WoO sets and 15 giraffe guys out of undisturbed or partially disturbed columns from 6 boxes, so not perfect but a good starting point. I've only got one Sherry Scratchen-Post & Scarface to take back, which I either thought was the Cowardly Lion (Scarface's tail + Sherry's hairpiece) or Dorothy (didn't make sure the hairpiece was squeezable and thought Scarface was Toto).1 point

no mention of the Asda offers here or hukd apart from HG & the SW Battle packs. Also Hans Solo BHz £2.50, JW BHz £4.??, most of the Friends stuff that was on sale £1.20 - £3.80, 60172 £2, Hook Loader £1.72, Incredibles £4.?? etc basically 75% off. Some might have been 75% off previous price. Disclaimer not all stores have all the same reductions which p**hes me right off when I go store B after store A sold it for 75%.1 point

It's a stock checker app (used to be called Inform, may have been changed), tells you current stock, delivery dates, current price and if any impending discounts are looming (I've never seen a future discount of more than 7 days time, it's handy if you want to delay a purchase until after is been reduced). And you can check other stores too, if you know their store code (four digit code).1 point

I sold a set of the 41634 & 41635 Emmett & Wyldstyle for $110. I could've held out for more money but with the rate prices are dropping on eBay, I'll take a profit margin of 190% buy-in price. I shipped it out to what looks like a drop shipper in Oregon who didn't bat an eye at the price at all. So that's a good sign. Buy-in was about $30 for them both. At this point in the game, you grab your money and go. Time to spend it on more important things...like more LEGO sets...or you know, preparing for Valentine's Day.1 point

$20 on joe vs dan you are dumb and have incredibly unrealistic expectations. Yesterday I found a 5 $ bill I was hoping it would be worth 10 $ by time I got home or maybe even a 100 $...That didnt happen. You have a lot to learn about lego investing, supply demand, reality, reselling, value etc1 point

Its a free resource for you to gather loads of information to make money from selling toys. At the same time learning to buy smart for your own collection and being aware of the bigger world. Building your portfolio in a tool would for your own use of the data. If you don't find that data useful, then don't do it. Not sure what you were expecting, since the values are averages anyway. I just get 20% or more for sets over what the brickfolio says. Its a general gauge of trends. I have maainatained a six figure portfolio for many years and its been extremely useful.1 point
