Walmart has Minecraft Farm Cottage 21144 for $39.99 again. Not a great discount, but the set is supposedly on its way out. https://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-Minecraft-The-Farm-Cottage-21144-549-Pieces/173323787 EDIT: WM also has Architecture Las Vegas 21047 for 20% off ($31.99). Not sure if that's necessarily a great price, but it seems rare to see Architecture sets with discounts. https://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-Architecture-Las-Vegas-21047-Building-Set-501-Pieces/4314803492 points

Yes, you do raise some good points. The first release of sets, such as 4709 castle, 4708 train, etc., are definitely basic/blocky. But I think the newest sets are overdetailed w/too many small parts. I think the sweet spot was the sets that had to do with 3rd/4th movies. Sets such as 4757 castle, dumstrang ship, shrieking shack, etc. were a great blend of size, detail, and great figures. These sets were produced in the mid-late 2000s, (2004/5-2007/8), which (in my opinion) was when design had improved but the saturation of sets and overdetailing/cheese slope era that we see today had not occurred yet. There were lots of great sets: dreamliner, cafe corner, MTT, original holiday train, eiffel tower. These are all likely to be rehashed but the originals will remain the best imho.1 point

Love it... Mind you, if that happened here in East London the planters as well as the package would have disappeared. Mind you maybe not, as the place would definitely have ground to a complete standstill seeing as you have more than an inch of snow.1 point

Nexo Knights was full price at mine too, but plenty of 50%-75% off sets on the same shelf.1 point

This is the first set to include a pink space suit with the classic space logo, which is driving the popularity up. Benny is plentiful, elsewhere.1 point

lego tagged it as seasonal set so it should have a relatively shorter shelf life. Plus, there are no other outlets other than lego itself is selling it, so I imagine the market is not flooded. However, since its design is generic, even though it may be done later this year it can very much be brought back next year to celebrate 2020 chinese new year. I guess it all depends on how long the 80101, 80102 and the unreleased dragon boat set will stay as it appears to me the existence of DDG BH is undoubtedly for matching those regional sets. I think Lego will start to phase it out after chinese dragon boat festival this year which happens in June. The set itself is unique and it doesn't look like we are getting more chinese themed BH anytime soon. I bought one for personal collection to pair with the 80101 and 80102 I acquired. May pick up a few more down the road1 point

after your post I tried to have a more open mind about the older sets...I do agree with you that the minifigures are better in the older sets; more expressive and unique. I disagree about sets being bigger >smaller as a general rule, since I value better detail over what feels like a Duplo build (exxageration). Yes, the current Great Hall proportions are too short. But just looking at the trains...the current one using moving axels vs free spinning wheels...that's a no brainer imo. And when you compare a lot of the older mini scenes...those look embarrassing compared to current standards. Once again..my opinion...those older sets came out during my dark ages (ie no nostagia and possible jealousy/scorn) so I may be unfairly harsh on them.1 point

Decided to do a full Kohl’s run across 5-6 stores today. First store, several ninjago sets at 50% off, and a well hidden mint BB8 for $29.99. This is like a hidden gem within hidden gems, doesn’t seem like there’s much competition to ****** these up. Note, wanted to upload receipt but wouldn’t allow me, I’ll try to upload later on my computer once I’m done through all the stores.1 point

Went to see the movie today. Without saying too much to ruin it for the rest. I will say it made for a nice continuation of the first one. But I did not leave the theater with the same feeling I had when we seen the first one. Being a huge Lego fan I did still enjoy it. But if I had to rank all 4 movie made by WB.... 1. The LEGO movie 2. The LEGO Batman movie 3. Ninjago movie 4. The LEGO Movie 2 Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum mobile app1 point

probably none of them as first 2 are potentional remake targets forever and you never know if 10264 ends up being dud like Pet Shop or winner like Brick Bank, I would pick 71043 Hogwarts Castle1 point

I think it will mostly be business as usual. Whether long-term storage fees increase or decrease, there will always be a ToyJumbo clogging some listings.1 point

Broke out a $35 75157 Captain Rex's AT-TR since the price hasn't moved and we wanted something to build...mostly for the 5th Brother mini-fig that the kids wanted. Not a great looking set but we at least had fun building it. In other news...if anyone is looking for a used 75157 that is complete except for the 5th Brother mini-figure, I know a guy. ?1 point
