Came through with some clearance Brickheadz at TJ Maxx and Marshall's today 7x Anna/Olaf $5.00 4x Elsa $3.00 2x Finn $3.00 1x Rey $3.00 (didn't have one yet, but yeah, it's probably the worst of the series) 2x Wonder Woman $6.00 1x Master Wu $6.00( no idea how they had this one) I left some trashed boxes behind, but was pretty happy with the score today. I left a $74 Hospital at Kohl's, just have a feeling I'll be able to do better closer to retirement. Clearance City isn't hard to come by around here.3 points

I only bought one 75144, to build. I wouldn't even consider buying any to resell unless they hit 50% off. It's still a great set, just not a great set for investment unless buy-in is rock bottom.2 points

Other than Mickey and Minnie my wife doesn’t see the appeal. She doesn’t like any or the rest. It’s getting interesting trying to figure out where I can put the collection, lol2 points

Can you please keep your political views to yourself and out of threads they have no business being in. Thank you. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Brickpicker Forum mobile app2 points

I'll be annoyed if you waited 3 years to complain that it's not available. Welcome!2 points

What did everyone expect from the black vip card? Seriously? And is $100+ for the card frame thing not enough?1 point

I placed the same order on WM.com for almost 2 weeks straight. 99 items. It eventually "snuck" through. Life is getting harder.1 point

I predict some good deals to be had later in the year when some of the Noobs need to liquidate their stock that was obtained without having a solid exit plan and realizing they are in too deep.....1 point

+1 vote for the kohls thread. Found creator dinos & duplo hulks at several stores, all un-stickered. I can see myself getting used to those awkward shopping bag/carts real quickly.1 point

this set was a correct guess in ravenb99's retirement riddle and is on the list to be retired in 2018. looking at the village performance, this set should make it to $500 fba amazon - low $400s on ebay within reasonable time frame so if that seems worth it to you at rrp buyin, go for it. toycentric is selling them for $389 on amazon so that's your theoretical maximal cap on the ebay price for now - lol. if you can wait it out til seller count gets very low, this could be a $700 set in 3-4 years. upside: little chance of a remake. downside: unlikely waning of minecraft interest. still going strong but anything could happen. it was on sale for $199 multiple times. i bought several at that price point. personally not enthusiastic at msrp given clearance abundance in my neighborhood but still will do better than any other large retiring set so msrp could work out maybe. then there comes the risk of selling a large set and getting scammed...1 point

Thanks! I just brick-built it and made changes as I progress. So unfortunately no digital files. I'd love to see your creation though! Here's a overhead view and a close-up of the inner courtyard: The layout is based on a cross section art work of Helm's Deep made by a WETA artist. I put an armory in the basement below the inner courtyard (accessible through entrance next to stairs in the inner courtyard), a stable in the lower entrance, and a private dining area on the second floor of the great hall. See here for more detail: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/169563-moc-lotr-helms-deep/ Since I got in the game late, 9471 is worth stupid money now so I only got one. Other than the original figures from 9471 and 9474, the rest are custom figures from eBay (not sure if this is hugely frowned upon in these boards or not......).1 point
