Wow there are sets that Terry doesn't like. That deserves it's own thread as well. A special to Terry or not to Terry...3 points

I agree. I really appreciate these little "Easter Eggs" in LEGO sets and video games. This set is everything that LEGO does right. Not to get off topic, but Red Dead Redemption 2 is an example of a recent video game with some excellent "Easter Eggs." Really spectacular game.2 points

Sometimes these little hidden nods to the past make builds go from good to great. Reminds me of how video games used to parody in small parts other games or even films like entering a hidden chamber finding a certain dead soldier and the protagonist goes "Hmm, that is one doomed space marine".2 points

Here is a little Model Team Easter Egg someone has found in this set. https://imgur.com/DCjuZsw2 points

These sets are brilliant and I think that LEGO have done a great job in representing a very important event in South East Asian culture, would love to see a Night Market or Lantern Festival street scene if more sets are developed. But yes I do find it amusing that the people who it should appeal to the most are the ones hoovering most of the stock. Been a while since I’ve browsed this site. Nice to see some familiar names that have stuck around.2 points

This is what could be considered as a Classic Space minifigure pack for the modern generation. Now if there was a blue edition of the non-cracked chinstrap helmet it would be perfect in that regard and also a red spaceman to round out the troop. Pish posh. Mail-order pigeons suit me just fine, good sir.2 points

If you guys hav ebeen hitting the walmarts and Targets...you may have also noticed all the various Harry Potter line collectibles (White box w/ fancy gold-like fringe)...almost worse than Disney in terms of how many different items there are. just curious what folks think of them...probably too early to gauge any valuation. The Surprise box wand...$19.99 seems to me like the best collectible (search for the elder Wand and all that)...I saw a few discounted at $15 today at target. I also saw the dolls (like barbie size and quality) for teh first time...also on sale for $15...would have gotten a Harry, but only had Hermoine, Dumbledore, and Ron and the Teacher Mcgronigle(sp?) I picked up their Wizard's Chess set since my kid is into chess...$20 at 50% off...really solid and detailed pieces (but plastic I think) I also saw the Sorting Hat (that talks) and giant figures of Niffler (sp?) All Rubbish??? thoughts?1 point

Managed to get 7 in Asda for £4.67 and 4 in Tesco for £6.50 over Christmas. I thought Asda kept the prices the same across all their stores. Don't know why I thought that!1 point

I wish they put some kind of blue film on the bottom background to make it look more like the sea. Still very impressive.1 point

I told you...the mice were the last two retail sets I needed. I’ve got everything [emoji16]1 point

Stupidly yes. Didn’t pick any up at 20% off. Had to pay over retail but not much, thanks to a Canadian friend. After the retirement talk a couple weeks ago, and a call to LEGOLAND California, I pulled the trigger. I think I’ve paid retail/over retail for maybe 5 BHz? I should look.1 point

President Trump, after learning of the LEGO Great Wall of China, changes his plan and begins construction on the “Make America Great Wall of America” between the US and Mexico...but abandons it after realizing it will cost more than traditional building materials. Unwilling to admit defeat, he builds 50 feet out of Chinese bogus bricks and it falls apart immediately. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum mobile app1 point

We are living in glorious times! Double your money if you have the persistence and cunning to track these down. (Not that ive managed to get many of them either, but my advice is strip the shelves bare of them.) It's the Policeman and Saturn V FOMO all over again. And so many whingers on facebook complaining about lack of supply and over-inflated prices. I mean cry me a river! It's a luxury toy ffs. First world snowflake problems. It's not baby formula, where little Johnny literally goes hungry. That is a bloody national disgrace orchestrated by (ironically) a group Chinese flippers. End rant.1 point
