  4. 6” tall is what’s causing most of the jump in shipping. The next time you ship, change it to 4” or 5” and you will see a big difference. 23” or 24” L isn’t causing the trouble in my experience.

  6. Placed an order with Target for some of the new Speed Champions sets at 20% off. Used a $15 GC and selected "In Store Pickup". Of course all those got cancelled, but I didn't get my GC back to place another order. CS investigated and manually sent me a $15 GC so I could order the sets for shipping. Next day I get my $15 GC from the cancellation, so I called CS and they told me to just keep the GC. Nice gesture. Today my order arrives, and instead of 75892 Senna they have shipped me 75890 F40. Order and packing slip indicate 75892, but the actual box in the shipment is 75890. Called CS again, and they are shipping me a new 75892, and told me to keep 75890. Not a bad deal UPDATE: Looking at my order history, it looks like they even refunded my original purchase of 75892. So I received the F40, the Senna and the Mini doublepack, combined MSRP $80, for $40 (minus the $15 GC I used which was free), with a $15 GC to boot. $25 OOP plus $15 for a future purchase.

  8. Bought a used 7946 Kings Castle off of OfferUp yesterday for $75. The listing said it was missing 3-4 pieces but I decided to take a chance. Of course it was missing closer to 10 pieces after I inventoried it, but surprisingly all the minifigs and loose weapons were there and all of the castle shields.... spent $5 on bricklink this morning to order all 10 missing pieces.

  10. I did not buy 5x Overwatch Gibraltar sets from Argos. They appeared on the website saying delivery in 2 days in early December where all the other OW sets said pre-order, so I went for the high-risk and ordered some figuring I could part them out and flip the figs before Christmas (Obviously this is hella dumb and leaves me open to return policy fraud - I will not be trying that again). Obviously delivery day comes and they don't arrive. Speak to live chat, they assure me that the items have been picked and they will be delivered 2 days later. Obviously they don't arrive again, back on live chat, promised this time that they are definitely with Yodel and will be delivered on Saturday 15th. At this point it's getting too late to list them for Christmas without opening me up to return fraud, but one last chance. Obviously, they don't turn up. Now at some point during all this, the order on the website has somehow been changed to be for 9 items instead of 5, so I figure at this point I'll let them arrive on release day, and if they have sent me 5, I'll return them, and if they send me 9, I'll take it is recompense for their incompetence and straight up lies. Obviously only 5 show up, back on live chat, getting them collected tomorrow, and being sent a £20 voucher as an apology. I ask if that will take a month to show up, he doesn't see the funny side. TL:DR, made £20 by letting buffoons at Argos hold £400 for a month. Probably not worth the angry live chats, but £20 is £20.

  11. Don’t stress mate, he will be back in no time. Take any “official news “ from LEGO with a pinch of salt.

  13. I was able to get 10 in store for $9 as well. But got an alert from the Earny App that the price had fallen online. Nice thing is the app alerted me to the drop and I was able to get a few bucks from a purchase I made in November. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum

  14. There was an email from Lego, and it was posted here in the Daily Deals thread on Friday morning as soon as it went live (plus there was a new thread opened on Saturday as well). Ample warnings. You snooze you lose That said, stores might still have some even though the promo ended yesterday. Worth a try going in for.

  15. Lol. Nope. I was trying not to draw attention to the fact it was my third visit to the store that same day.

  16. This set will eventually see discounts like the TV Series Batcave in order to move them. Nobody in their right mind would spend $300 for this. It looks cool I guess, but why would anyone want to plop this thing down in the middle of their city layout amongst all of their modulars? This thing is a playset, and a very expensive one at that. It will be somewhat popular once the movie is released, but when that has come and gone this set will be a dust collector. Investment wise, I'll take 30 Benny's Space Squad sets for $300 before I touch one of these.

  18. For all you BH completionists out there, just stumbled across this one: Looks like a Shanghai store specific promo, coinciding with their opening in 2018. Link to at least one EBay listing here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-2018-Shanghai-2nd-flagship-store-opening-souvenir-Shimao-Brickheadz-6270050/113512216346 (not my listing)

  19. Co-sign raven's post. I'd add a few things. Check the first post in the thread for examples of sets that fit different boxes. Compare the sets you've bought/intend to buy against that list. Then get an assortment of boxes that cover most of your needs. If you're comfortable with the risk from the flimsier construction, order some of the free USPS Priority boxes. They're especially useful for sub-15" long sets that are over 16oz packed. If you've got sub 10" sets and time, just make your own boxes from bigger boxes that you wouldn't otherwise reuse. The biggest PITA sets are the 18x12xX and 24x12xX. Also the taller sets like Architecture Studio and Classic boxes like 10704. Lastly, you also have to consider whether you're going to be fulfilling multi-set orders that require deeper shipping boxes.

  20. majority of all your small to mid size sets will fit in 6x6x4 8x6x4 12x9x4 12x12x4 14x8x4 15x15x4 16x12x4 your mid to large sets fit in the following 20x12x4 20x16x4 20x15x6 24x16x4 24x16x6 24x20x4 24x20x6 and 24x20x8 now as you can see on the larger ones you can go with the bigger and eliminate some but if you get an opposite coaster you will pay for it dearly in the dim weight. Like 2 or 3 of those could almost pay for your pack of boxes of the smaller size. those sizes pretty much knock out every LEGO configuration though. The 15x15x4 isn't used that much and that one you could just go with the 20x16x4 as there is no dim difference on that. Same with the 20x16x4, that could do the 20x12x4 which is a common one. Only advantage to have both in that case is if the smaller keeps it under another pound which saves you $1-3 per package depending on zone. There's a few others like 12x6x3 that fits the pullback technic sets and keeps them under a pound so they can go first class. That can be a $2-6 savings right there if going to farthest zone from the difference of 16oz and 2lb priority. So it is really important to study rates, dim, zones as well and know what you are shipping and volume. A lot of people make comments about box costs but having the right box in a situation can save and pay for many other boxes.

  21. Joined the Elves fray today and found a few Skeleton Attacks, Ninjago temples and Ron/Dumby Brickheadz to boot. Unikitty Box is a gift for my daughter. Also found the Technic/Architecture honey hole, but nothing was marked down.

  22. Unlucky unlucky. 60080 would have been a nice sell at 250-280 Euro next XMAS, I guess it will be 200-220 then this easter. Sometimes you win sometimes you loose.

  23. Finally got that half off HP Castle from the Entertainment Earth deal they did several days ago... for a minute or less as an online 'doorbuster'. As a company known for selling collectibles they did a pretty solid job with the packing and shipping. Wrapped nicely in paper, under the Lego box, around and on top, not squished, Lego box was mint as far as I could tell. Shipping box was very sturdy with top that overlapped, helping to prevent cutting through the shipping tape into the product when opening. "Fragile" printed on the box and everything, great shipping job here.

  24. UCS Falcon...I’d rather buy 12 City Hospitals, Holiday Trains, or Heartlake Hospitals at full pop than sink that money into these boat anchors. For personal use, it’s a great price. For reselling, it’s quite risky and asking a lot once it retires ( probably 8 years from now). Those who think lightening will strike twice with the Falcon are in for a disappointment. Investing dollars can be spent much better elsewhere IMO.

  25. I’ll repeat it pages later, but everyone selling these now is foolish! $75-$100 CAD in 2 years. Mark my words.
