This set will eventually see discounts like the TV Series Batcave in order to move them. Nobody in their right mind would spend $300 for this. It looks cool I guess, but why would anyone want to plop this thing down in the middle of their city layout amongst all of their modulars? This thing is a playset, and a very expensive one at that. It will be somewhat popular once the movie is released, but when that has come and gone this set will be a dust collector. Investment wise, I'll take 30 Benny's Space Squad sets for $300 before I touch one of these.3 points

https://www.target.com/p/lego-174-elves-breakout-from-the-goblin-king-s-fortress-41188/-/A-52090388 $44.99 Lego 41188 Elves Breakout from the Goblin King's Fortress at Target Not nearly the deal for those that managed to get some in store, but good option for others.2 points

Lol. Nope. I was trying not to draw attention to the fact it was my third visit to the store that same day.2 points

but this is a must have for anyone wanting to conver their city lay-outs into a Zombie wasteland...which is the endgame for every Lego city layout...you just don't know it yet2 points

Next round of Tesco clearance just hit! 50% off all the big Christmas lines, £45 Hogwarts Hall, £34 Cinderella Castle, £45 Jedi Fighter/Ring, £29 Porg, £8.75 Newt/Grindle BrickHeadz, £44 Dieselnaut, £35 Thanos Battle. etc etc etc. Unikitty Lab is now down to £10, figured it's worth a sweep at that price, good piece count, can probably sell them in bulk to someone overseas. Or if not then the part out value is really solid. Pissed off with my store though. Was on to some Dieselnauts that had not been seen since the Christmas promo ends were changed, was never put on to the main shelves, no recorded sales. Surprise surprise, can't be found in the back..... Probably same place as the two Jedi Starfighters that apparently never turned up.2 points

Went a bit nuts at the LEGO Store today. Thanks to my son having a hockey game at a mall that has both a rink and a LEGO Store. I ended up with three of the 100 Stores minifigs. Also finished out picking up the last four Brickheadz I needed to have the complete retail collection. That includes everything that’s been put out this year, too. It helped that I needed to buy my nephew something for his birthday, so that took me most of the way there for the first 100 Stores fig. My wife loves “girl” keychains, and these three are brand new:2 points

I have Ninjago City and its over 5.5 kg. I guess something like 11 pounds or so,? .. both are very beautifully rendered sets.. but Ninjago City is simply better = more attractive.. the box art does a lot.. and in this aspect Ninjago City simply wins.. Better looking packaging.. or is there someone who thinks that Apocalypse has a better looking package?2 points

Op Shop Boast: Early december picked up a 60l tub of lego containing mostly unopened bags for $75: Contained with all bricks accounted for: Assault on Hoth (no instructions no stickers and no box of course) - built it, was quite a good build a bit easy, and have started the parting out / resale process Classic Batman Cave (no instructions no stickers and no box of course) - all minifigs, batmobile and batcopter all been resold. Haven't done anything with the rest of it yet. Small Sydney Opera House (no box). - resold Jestros HQ (no instructions no stickers and no box of course) - done nothing with this yet. So far, after costs cleared $180. Target online offer only $129 for FO Star Destroyer.2 points

Luke’s Landspeeder is only $11.66 online at Walmart. That’s the cheapest online I’ve seen. http://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-Star-Wars-TM-Luke-s-Landspeeder-75173/101948702 Looks like they are dumping these. Is it retiring? Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum1 point

Is it me or does that new 20th anniversary logo look like it's giving us the middle finger?1 point

The LEGO Star Wars theme could have been fine - but it was hit with a big double wammy. Between LEGO sabotaging the collectible aspects of the theme, and Disney's unfair attacks on any long time fans who would dare to critique storyline/character decisions. It's actually more surprising that things haven't been worse.1 point

Fallingwater was listed as new, but the box looked open. Bags on the inside may be sealed. Even if it is used and complete, it was a victory. Figured at the price it was better to buy first and not think too deeply. Seller was very responsive and a full slate of pictures led me to trust this one. Told me to keep an eye on his listings as he is unloading all his sets due to college. I'm sure if you track down this sold listing, you can find him.1 point

OFS doesn't seem to be doing nearly as well over here in the UK. Still well behind the modulars.1 point

I'd like to know the weight before I give a crap about part counts.1 point

To put it into perspective, Ninjago City (70620) has 4867 pieces, and retails for $299.99. Ninjago City Docks has 3553 pieces and retails for $229.99. One can argue that the 2 sets I mentioned previously have a lot of little parts. Welcome to Apocalypseburg has 3178 parts and is retailing for $299.99. If we’re going off of purely part count, you can spend an extra $100.00 and get over 6000 pieces in the new Hogwarts Castle. I really wanna build this set, but I’m not buying an extra copy or parting out any until it hits $199.99.1 point

Not store manager, usually the toys manager or the AGM over that area. I usually just ask them if they would be willing to take the clearance down farther if I buy up a lot of their inventory. They usually aren't willing to if they don't have a lot left or if you aren't looking at buying much. To get the markdown's further I usually am dropping $300-$1000 depending on the size of the sets.1 point

Finally flinched and bought the UCS Y-Wing from Amazon.ca. After binge re-watching all the SW Movies over the holidays I’m on a SW kick of sorts! I was going to wait for an EOL deal on this set but 30% off is a great deal IMO for a 2018 UCS. Gut it for just under $180CAD which converts to about $133USD.1 point

The Midwest is full of unsophisticated rubes living in trailers and shopping at Wal-Marts. Corn and Hogs. Those not living on either coast are the worst America has to offer. ?1 point

Sold a number of my PC recently. A UCS RBR; UCS ISD; UCS X-Wing; UCS Naboo Fighter and a GG. Made about £600 after fees. Sad to see them go, but threat of remakes and lack of space was the deciding factor.1 point

Wow. Great idea! Or maybe, how about you add a feature where you can buy other products as well. Start with selling books, build out your distribution network, then gradually add more product categories. Oh, and a 2 day guaranteed shipment plan! And allow other people to sell on your platform too - perhaps even in a model where all they need to do is ship their products to you and you take care of the rest? What do you think?!?1 point

Needs something... I know, Lord Dark Helmet descending from her nose and three apes on horse back. I do like the set though.1 point

Not feeling the love from AMZ right now. This was a $320 set the customer returned because they changed their mind. AMZ refunded their money and sent me this box back with NO OUTER SHIPPING box. Just slapped the labels on the set and sent it from AZ to MI. And to think I carefully wrapped this set in bubble wrap to make sure they customer got it minty fresh. I think I’m done with anything over $50 on AMZ. My last big set (Temple of Airjutzu) was stolen by the customer and they returned a box of misc LEGO parts and filed a claim I was selling Inauthentic Product. What a pain the a$$.0 points
