You are a very good father - Many Brickpickers would have left their child on the shelf and taken the other 20 Buckingham Palaces.24 points

Thanks for the support, y'all. For the record, I filled up the child seat extended cart with 80 Buckingham Palaces, a couple Great Walls (also 50% off), a couple 42079 forklifts at 50% off, and some 50% off elves. Still a lot of technic and elves in this secluded section of Target, most still at 30% off, some at 50%. The rest of the architecture was rrp. This was extremely challenging with a 2.5 year old, so I also had to buy a toy school bus which was definitely not a daily deal. I left 20 in a Target in Houston, TX for anyone who wants them. The cashier at self checkout was extremely helpful even after I maxed out the Red Card and was flagged for fraud by Bank of America. Asked no questions about why I was buying and helped me load them into my car. A Target I visited 4 miles away yesterday was cleared of everything clearance except for 3 Moana sets.13 points

I'm seeing a whole lot of "Deal or no deal" type of questions from the noobs....take those questions to the "Deal or no deal" forum and save this thread for deals..... BTW....some of you guys just need to use that device that's glued to your hands and do your own research to make the right decisions based on your specific budget and strategy. Sorry....little rant7 points

I have to make two trips. 86 miles round trip each time. I originally discovered this after I found 21033 Chicago's for $15.98 via the app. Turns out they had 2. But.... 44x 42079 Forklifts marked lower in store @ $22.48 52x 41195 Emily & Noctura's Showdown @ $22.48 18x 21029 Buckingham Palace's @ $24.98 63x 21032 Sydney's @ $14.98 27x 76099 SH Rhino Face Off's @ $9.98 1x 41318 Hospital @ 69.98 4x 21041 Great Walls @ $24.98 8x 41196 Treebat's @ $34.98 11x Ron & Dumbledore BH @ $9.98 4x Marty BTTF BH @ $9.98 7x Hermoine BH @ $4.98 12x Various City - mostly Jungle @ 60% off - (50% off the already 20% off list price) 8x 75167 Bounty Hunter Battle Packs @ $7.48 16x Various Ninjago Movie - highlight was 2x Temple Ulitmate Weapon's $49.98 2x calls to credit card company confirming charges while annoyed soccer mom's looked on. I ended up passing on most of the 50% off 75887 Hybrid Porsches... I can't sell via FBA and not sure about that one post retirement. I am having a few drinks tonight.6 points

Keep an eye on Kohl’s. They are starting to shed inventory (in store - their packing of LEGO sucks) Prices not great, not buying now - on the radar though.2 points

Shipped to my folks actually, they got it for me. My grandfather was a Mack mechanic in the 70s. Opening it gave my mom a nice opportunity to talk about him. It was pretty cool. I'll get some finished picks up over the weekend. Great build so far.2 points

When we last left our heroes, Poe had led the bombers on what ended up being a suicide mission, thus destroying the entire squadron. Apparently, they only had that ONE squadron. lol, sorry I'm just very annoyed at the state of SW story telling.1 point

Ebay 15% off today only code POWPOW15, could be good to bag some bargains on retired sets OOS over Xmas.1 point

Agreed the bigger sets need to go further (I've done nicely this xmas on the 76081 Milanos picked up this time last year for <£20). However, some stuff is grab it fast and don't wait for further drops. For me its the BHeadz Harry Potter / Fantastic Beasts. Doubles are £11 and singles £6-£7.1 point

A stocking full of coal hits 2-3x RRP on AMZ. It's people who can't sell there that need to be cautious1 point

Not saying you’re wrong, but 21019 is only selling for around $40. True that’s a quick flip but in the case of Louve the price has actually declined (now $65 from a $50 rrp). Of course you and others have the experience to show us noobs how it’s done so I’ll defer to you. But current prices for me demand taking a more pragmatic approach. Getting stacks at 50% make sense 20% not so much.1 point

First round of Tesco clearance just hit! All of the special Christmas lines that were previously 20% off now have an extra ~15% off, and some items even have an extra 30%! A selection: 60167 Coast Guard HQ £29.70 75954 Hogwarts Great Hall £58.50 75191 Jedi Fighter with Hyperdrive Ring £58.50 75230 Porg £37.70 70654 Dieslnnaut £57.20 60110 Fire Station £39.00 71022 HP Minifigures £1.90 SW Advent Calendars £7.80, I'd imagine the others are £7.xx as well, my local has a mountain of friends but I'm not buying them even at 75% off. Haha. ALSO if you can still find them, the previous two waves of 'special purchase' bin items have dropped as well, for example U-Wing at £26.20 and the £30 sets now seem to be £19.xx. Now this is unusual because I've never seen Tesco do a national clearance price reduction going into a Friday. Normally it is done going into a Monday. The generic 20-30% off everything promo was due to end on the 29th, so I'm wondering if the prices will go back up on the 30th. Normally the Christmas clearance hasn't happened till mid January. Nothing too exciting here, I'll be waiting for the next wave in 3 weeks when hopefully things hit 50%.1 point

Why in the world do these stores have so many copies of the same set?! I don't think LEGO stores carry that many Buckinghams.1 point

I have 1 Ewok village left and it can stay in the cupboard for a while longer. I personally really like it. My others i sold for a modest profit. Only other UCS i have is a single TIE. I sold my other ones also for 30-40 buck profits each. Regarding the GB Firehouse, im pretty happy with my 2 slightly bashed boxes, but i managed to get them for that too-nuts-to-be-true Big Dub price of 200 bucks. No one can balk at that. Let's see what they are worth post-retirement. I still have at least 5 Palace Cinemas stored away, and these are edging 30% ROI. Not that I'd invest in modulars these days unless discount is very, very deep like a 240 buck Assembly Sq.1 point

Took care of some business today at a couple of Targets, actually had to leave some half off Elves behind because I ran out of room in my car - for the 64 60% off Chicagos. We will see if I go back for the rest, it was about an hour's drive each way. Sent from my SM-G935V using Brickpicker Forum mobile app1 point

maybe - too early to say but there's no price to that giddy giggly rush you get when the incredible 5 year old inside of you comes out grabbing these by the handful and literally shelf swiping 6 at a time in to your other arm . there was an entire endcap of these . 5 shelves. i couldnt' even take them all there were like 16 left. as i'm grabbing sets and giggling outloud to myself, a nearby weathered wizened clearance hag & her future hag daughter at the next endcap over are becoming curious about what could they have possibly missed that i am throwing these down fast and furious like they are kilos from pablo. "what are u - an amazon seller or something?" - why yes - yes i am - what was the tip off?" lol.1 point
