  1. I thought that there was a display forum, but I can't find it on my phone so this one will do. Below is this year's Christmas setup except for the stockings on the wall. We have a larger, fuller tree which presented some problems and I grow tired of stringing lights through the town (Assembly Square is a terrible setup for this). Enjoy!

  2. No threats of bags full of used dildos for me (where would you even get that?), but it has been a very profitable year. I almost doubled my sales from last year and blew way past what I had originally projected for the year. Got all of my debt paid off and will be starting 2019 with a big pile of inventory. This is why I laugh when I read so many of the gloom-and-doomers here talk about how the sky is falling, how we are in the end times of Lego reselling, blah, blah, blah.

  3. As this year comes to a close, we have much profit to be thankful for. 12 months of buying, selling, and dealing with the wonderful customers. Was there anything special for you that stood out this year? A great deal on an item to flip? Flip something for an out of this world profit? A special customer who really made your year? A special buy was finding someone's hidden stash of First Order Star Destroyers. A special sale was flipping 50 x 75119 Jyn Erso Buildables for a $450 profit I also had a very "special" buy on eBay that offered me a bag of used marital aids. Thankfully he didn't deliver. Everyone else have a fun and profitable 2018?

  4. This particular box has me puzzled and concerned. Did that box cave like an accordion, or is it two boxes put together as one, or is one box eating another one below it?

  5. Guys, please stop posting links to obvious scam sites. These are plentiful, especially during the Holiday season. At best, you get your money back from their payment processor (e.g. Paypal), which over time causes fees to rise for all of us. But you could fare way worse - with CC and contact details stolen, some fishy stalling scheme to get you out of refunds, or shipping you bogus bricks. Please STOP.

  9. A couple of highlights of 2018 for me... 1. Knowing that I am starting 2019 "Steam Roller free". 2. I continue to expand my local presence through Facebook market place, buy/sell groups, and vendor fairs. I've drummed up quite a few cash sales and repeat customers. I'm looking forward to building my local market share even more in 2019. Cash is king.

  10. 2018 is for me the year of my farewell to KMart. They will not survive long into 2019 (next court hearing is tomorrow, but unlikely Chapter 7 will be announced there and then, rather likely they will continue on with bids and wrap things up end January). Some KMart highlights of 2018: - I perfected my "Free LEGO" strategy, developed in 2017, and got an average discount of 85% across my LEGO purchases from them. - Even without using points, I found some great deals at KMart - $2 Constractibles, $5 Ninjago Vermillion Raider and Destiny's Shadows for example. - Most of what I picked up was already retired, or very advanced in "the dance", which meant I could flip my purchases almost instantly. - The points back went crazy for a while ($50 back on $50, $75 back on $75, $300 back on $300). - SYW Sweeps was a money-printing machine for a while - $2-$4 per day, $20-$40 per week including bonus winnings. Unfortunately, it's all drying up now. Sweeps pay out very little ($0.10-$0.25 per day), cashback offers have dried up, and store inventory is not being replenished. Adios KMart!

  11. I took a break from selling this year. Didn't realize just how much of a break until I was checking records the other day. I sold a $20 item in January, and a $20 minifig in November. And that was it. I'll have to get off my butt and get back to selling. The inventory is there. But the break has been nice.

  14. I can share them on behalf of Boliramirez: - Move to the Mexican border, ideally on the Mexican side - Schmooze up to people at the LEGO factory there - Offer them money for sets - Pay this money - Make profit on Ebay or CL

  15. LEGO fans were given an early Christmas for about an hour on Tuesday morning, as the UCS Millennium Falcon 75192 showed up on Walmart's site for 25% off. Normally priced at $799.99, the one hour sale had the Falcon down to $599.99. It hasn't been Christmas for everyone, though, as a number of users reported yesterday that their orders got cancelled. However, a few users have reported that they have shipping confirmations for their orders. And for a brief time this morning, the set showed up once again at $599.99. Keep those eyes open, you never know when this, or any other set, may go on surprise sale in the days leading up to Christmas. Register and participate in the board to stay abreast of the latest deals. A big thank you to @exracer327 for posting the deal first.

  16. as sales start to wind down, i can say from my experience that the safety certificate fiasco was 100% big nothing-burger. my strategy for the hassle was to recall all items, close all listings. ask to have my open case about the certificates closed. waited until the day after the deadline date for removing stuff passed. the next day created all new listings for all sets that i had that were on the list that i still had stock. sent them in. sold them all. done.

  18. Bravo to you for admitting an honest mistake on the internet. Further bravo to you for considering the impact of deal chasing and whether it was really 'fair'. Plus, you didn't demonize anyone for chasing a deal, as we know, only the hustlers truly thrive in this game. You just asked them to consider it. Level of thoughtfulness I haven't seen often in this joint. Cheers mate,

  19. Bonanza is a peer to peer seller site. While there are legit sellers there it's not regulated well and rife with scammers. Your getting scammed on the DO. Look at their other items for sale. Seem too good to be true? Because it is. There are even comments there that it's a scam seller. Phil B is right, stop posting this crap.

  23. Joker Manor will do just fine, along with BB, DO, OFS, Ocean Explorer and a few others. Like Ed said a lot gets through the radar now with so many sets out there. Short runs, low amounts of sellers and good sales ranks will keep these moving along nicely.

  28. Stopped by Target tonight and found a Scout Trooper and Speeder Bike set (75532). Went to self-checkout and had the person working there adjust the price to $30.99 (Cartwheel price match) and then used the 30% off Lego Star Wars constraction Cartwheel coupon. $21 and change. I have one already but couldn’t pass it up at that price.

  29. Well dang, was wondering where my 7 mini coppers at 84 were? Well I log in and cancelled. Also used my coupon on them. So I guess I'll call tomorrow amd guilt them into another coupon of some kind. This is annoying. No email or anything. That is bad business.

  33. This year for me has seen a huge change in my AMZ resale business model. In 2016 and 2017 I bought my Lego sets almost exclusively from Toys R Us using discounted gift cards I would buy from eBay (a lot of them) and shenanigans to cumulate to a 30-40% percent discount in store between gift cards, Toys R Us sales and Toys R Us credit cards reward points. These 2 years I sold 200 k$ annually. I exhausted myself, literally. The profit wasn’t great around 15% but I had cash flow meaning that I sold consistently throughout the year and paid the credit cards debt monthly. Then we all know what happened to Toys R Us. So I had to join the bandwagons of those buying at discount from Walmart, Target, jet, etc. throughout the year stocking up on a huge inventory for Christmas. I filled up my basement, had to buy $800 in shelves and no $ back until November in that most of what I bought did not really jump in price on AMZ til then. So, I had to spend 50 k$ upfront or basically all the profit I made in 2016 and 2017 before I saw some $ back. Stressful to say the least. Overall, 2018 was less busy than 2016 or 2017 but more stressful due to the unknown territory. The best news is that for what I sold this year with this new model I doubled my percent profit to nearly 35% compared to the paltry 15% from 2016 and 2017. So, yeah. Other than that I loved the legendary Target sales from that one day in April. That was like living in a parallel universe for a couple of hours. On the negative side I am worried about Walmart now cancelling orders. The toys safety paperwork scare front Amazon was also not fun at all. Also, during this Christmas season I noticed a lot more non-Lego or should I say non- brick centric 3P sellers trying to sell Legos for a profit. In several cases they had hundreds of sets to sell and they depressed pricing all to way til now for some items. What else? Oh yeah, the city’s and friends advent calendars stinked up big time for me this year. It looked like everybody had some for sale. Crazy....nearly 200 offers consistently for the city advent calendar 6020 til now. Yuck. Also 10254 was bad. I did not get much discount when I bought these this year and I was hoping for the price to take off by now like it did in 2017. Oh well....not really. But I did great with other sets like 10251, 75102, 60167 etc. so overall I survived the Toys R Us debacle and hopefully I can increase my revenues in 2019.

  34. I’ve bought many of these for storage and have been tracking prices for about a year or so on these. This is as low as they go - expecially for the 48in deep shelves. I’ve seen the 18 in deep ones go to a hair under $48, never seen these 24in ones below $60. These work great. I’d suggest storing the sets inside cardboard boxes to avoid the metal shelf “lip” pressing against the boxes. Go to Home Depot and get their large size moving boxes - those are deep enough to both fit on the 24 in deep shelves and will allow you to put in any of the LEGO large size sets (Giant technic Porsche, modulars, UCS sets, giant creator sets, etc). The boxes will protext your investment and shield LEGO from peering eyes into yer garage Get the shelves and boxes and you have a nice and inexpensive storage/protection system. I’d bite on these shelves in a heartbeat. SUPER easy to build. Maybe 15 minutes to 20 minutes each max.

  35. I don't sell at a loss - I make all of my purchases worst case net break even from day 1. There are always great deals to be found - so learn obscure item/set values, be patient, and when a way too good deal shows up, load up.

  37. Maybe the Falcon deal was just to bait all the resellers...then again I'm sure google has an algorythm that can pretty much identify all resellers and place them into categories...kinda like Cerebro identifying mutants ...wondering who here is a Level 5 like Phoenix (reseller that can actually move the market by their actions)
