Been slowly getting the parts for the 5004590 bat-pod, which is now complete. I reckon it stands me in about £65 so am gonna build and display it for a while before shifting on as a complete set. Not a batman fan as such, but i must say I’ve been looking forward to having these last few bits - and if I can build something and double my cost what’s not to like!4 points

Pretty simple. I buy from Target and not Walmart. If a retailer questions why I buy something, I no longer use them. Target and Amazon make it easy. Walmart has lost my business. Do they care? No, but if enough people like me leave, they will care.2 points

Hey, no, yeah. It was the Walker. Big guy, MSRP @ $150. I've been popping into this store during liquidation just to see what's been happening. Most Lego were gone at 20-25%. The Walker and Ninjago Fire Mech and Lightning thing showed up on this store's shelves after black Friday and were an automatic 25% off. My guess is Kmart somehow messed up, shipped new sets to a closing store (sounds like a kmart thing to do at least) and this store gives 0 "f-words," put them on the shelves. Ironically, this store never got any set worth over $90 before this. Was able to swing in today and pick up the last one at 40% off - which is good for my wallet considering all of the Amazon and B&N deals in the last few weeks. The Ninjago stuff didnt last long but I suspect these stuck around bc of the price still. Most people in the area assumed this kmart closed years ago and weren't even going to bother looking. The actual people that are inside clearing shelves didnt seem to be picking even at 40% bc it's still a nice chunk of dough. Either way, it's likely the last time I'll score a nice win at a kmart. And that's sad.2 points

These promos cause a dumpster fire to the billing statement of your RedCard. I was trying to sort out if I had been charged correctly for some non-Lego items and it took way longer than it should have. Most time they charge you straight up for the $10 gift card, but not always. Not surprised this happened at all given some experiences I had lately.2 points

Target also has the Town Bus Station for $30.99 Incase you missed it when Wal Mart had it for $26.991 point

I was in a Target today and there were a lot of holes on their shelves for sets that they used to have a ton of, so I am assuming the combination of $10 GC and Xmas are doing wonders for their sales.1 point

This....Target gives a target gc....this ensures you push your business to target in the future....and if you don't they don't care. It allows target to give greater discount than just a percentage off the set.1 point

I built the 6212 X-Wing Fighter today that I bought on EBay recently, 100% complete with box and instructions (~ $35 shipped). First off, I like the box art that has a pseudo 3-D effect and makes the X-Wing Fighter pop. It was a fun build with normal repetitiveness of building the wings. Two features that I really like – 1) how the fuselage connects to the x-wings structure and 2) the gear system that gradually opens and closes the wings into and out of the X-wing formation. For 2) this system is better IMO than the 9493 X-Wing Fighter system that snaps out of the X-wing formation, which I also own. The 6212 seems slightly longer than the 9493 (6212 set is on the left in the picture below). The engines on both are very comparable, with the 9493 being better because of the detail on the guns. The engine intake, even with the stickers, is better on the 9493 along with the white 1 x 4 tiles on the top of the engines that give them a more finished appearance. I am glad I bought the 6212 to add to my X-Wing collection that also includes 75102 Poe’s X-Fighter and the 75149 Resistance X-Wing Fighter.1 point

I do think that the continued lack of a limit is interesting. Its a gift to us now that we an even better idea of whats retiring, but it makes me wonder about Target's motivations. I can't imagine Target is making much / any money on the BP'ers who are continually using their gift cards with each purchase - and probably losing money on many of us. Obviously plenty of normal shoppers are taking advantage of this promotion as well and not necessarily putting the $10 back into LEGO. Is this promo generating enough sales of LEGO among normal shoppers that its worth it? Is this getting enough people onto Target's page / stores that its generating other sales even if they are mostly not making much $ on LEGO? Is this part of the online struggle with Amazon and Walmart - sales no matter the cost? Or is their inventory this high that they need the sales to cut down on the surplus of sets this year? A form of clearance, if you will... I know no one has answers and its probably a combination of some of them. Just thinking out loud...1 point

How tight is Lego's sphincter that they had to use a clear plastic bag and sticker to deploy this set? What an utter joke. I got a code myself and didn't even bother.1 point

FYI - got the Blinq Batman caves in. I think the mailman was unhappy as they came in four huge boxes and he put it so I couldn't get out my door! All sealed and no real problems with any boxes. Unbelievable value for parting out at that price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Sold off a few big sets for a slight loss each. Cutting some bait and trading them in for cold hard cash. All of these were purchased in my early days and paid full retail. 10240 Red Five, $235 plus shipping 10237 Tower of Orthanc, $225 plus shipping 70810 Metalbeards Sea Cow, $300 plus shipping I'm torn on the Sea Cow sale. If there was one set I always wanted to rip open and build, it was that one. Now I don't have any more.1 point

Just getting this back into people's mind. No matter what the complainers (at the time) said, this set has been a great money maker. I got 30 during the surprise sale last year, sold 5 for $40 on Amazon as a QF, and sold the remaining 25 over the last month or two on Amazon for $60 each. @Sfcommando14 was wrong and right at the same time1 point

Not essentially today but finally after months of planning, ordering multiple times from brick-link, buying from PaB walls in store, redesigning, restructuring, testing, balancing, rebuilding, destroying by accident... I was finally able to finish my extremely frustrating but fantastic project of mounting this extremely fragile but adorable baby on the wall. 75192 is mounted on a solid TV-Mount (plate) attached to the wall with custom extended 4 point weight distribution bolts to keep it well balanced across the mid-structure without putting to much pressure on single section of the chassis. With some extra changes to the weight and centre-balance I was able to give it little more angular aspect to get more "air" on the bottom. Clearance on the top to the wall is about 1.5cm and bottom 6.5cm. That clearance on top and bottom gave me a little more leeway in designing the schematics for lighting kit. After testing with number of different lighting setups I came up with this as a final design. I wanted to give it on the bottom an extra push of light for obvious reasons :) Lighting is fully programmable with already programmed by me ignition sequence - flashing white lights -> red quick ignition pulse -> blue light -> blue light fading in/out. whole thing is remote controlled. reference: https://youtu.be/jPEYpryMp2s?t=75 + custom made sockets (under bottom engine outlets on left and right) for 2x 10 000 mAh Powerbanks to juice the lighting kit because from very beginning I wanted to avoid the cable management situation and keep it as clean as possible. And here it is.. I'm proud but exhausted and tired with whole thing... hope you gonna like it1 point

Even though they are heavily marketing the "ultimate collectors series" thing, I feel like TLG isn't targetting collectors anymore with these sets. By collector, I mean a person who expects a model which is the absolute best possible representation of a Snowspeeder in Lego, regardless of the cost (within reason). I feel like this model is not the absolute best possible representation of a Snowspeeder. That's not to say it isn't a nice model, but there are some obvious points that could be improved. Collectibility also implies exclusiveness / scarcity, which will not be the case for this set at all. Maybe my definition is wrong and they are going for a different type of collector or even completionists. Now I still think this is one of the best looking Star Wars sets out there. I think it looks better than the old one, though maybe it just looks more "modern". In any case, I don't have a 10129 so for me it's great. But I would have been happier if they did something new. There's only about 26 UCS sets so far, so it's kinda silly to have two duplicates already. If they keep them coming at this rate, we'll have a new Falcon, Y-Wing and Star Destroyer in the next five years. Meanwhile they could release AT-AT, A-Wing, Nebulon, Venator, Republic Gunship, Sail Barge, ...1 point

I was finally in a position where I had money and could make a pilgrimage to the Salt Lake City Lego store to get this bad boy and finally build it. The one thing I want to say that seems a bit odd and bums me out a bit, is the fact that they use two rubber rings to connect the bottom portions of the wings. I wonder if to get the angle they had to go this way, or if there actually could be a way to keep it up without using the rings. Now I know some of you guys have whined about the old snowspeeder, but seriously this thing is beyond beautiful in person. It was a satisfying build and has some serious weight behind it. For those that are on the fence, just fork over the money and buy it!1 point
