That's just LEGO's new version of the date code. Used to be embossed into the box - now they print it. Have seen this on more sets. Seal code now has day of the week in it as well. Nothing to see here, please move along ....4 points

I think the whole thing is one nothing-burger. They won't tell us that they backed off, but it sure seems like they backed off.3 points

I’m 100% I could make a profit on a £130 42056. Sold prices on eBay make this quite obvious. But it was an easy pass for me, as it will be a relatively small profit after fees etc compared to the size of the thing. I’d be making as much per unit as I did on pirate coasters, which are much easier to ship, take up far less space, and buyers have been less precious about in terms of box condition etc. I agree with Tabby, 42056 has been coming down and down.. and down.. in price and in the new year when people have cottoned onto the new Porsche coming out I reckon there will be £100-£110 deals on it to be had. Then, I’ll be buying.1 point

I have not tried Offer Up or Letgo yet, but have had some success selling on FB Marketplace. Craigslist has been hit or miss for me. What I like about FB Marketplace is the instant messenger feature, meaning I can get lowball offers, no follow-up when I reply to is it available questions, the proverbial sound of crickets when I offer to meet at a place other than my home for pick-up and silence to my counteroffers much faster without having to check e-mail. And at least I know if the potential buyer has or has not read my messages to them though. Despite my sarcasm, I do like the site and have sold many non-Lego items using it.1 point

That's for you to decide, and put into your strategy. If you can make (and live with) 50% gains in the short term, then yea that's good. If you want to risk and hold longer for maybe more gains, then that's a strategy also. If you get multiples of a set, you can do both. But holding longer doesn't guarantee better results. And the correlation is definitely not linear.1 point

My cancellation emails all arrived minty fresh. Kidding aside, Walmart usually does a pretty good job with shipping. Target has been OK - a few dinged up sets, mostly the larger items that came in oversized boxes. Amazon seems to be using sturdier boxes this year so yay for that1 point

I remember showing my son the price for NASDAQ:COKE this summer: $130. I showed him a quick graph and did a valuation on the spot but didn't pull the trigger. Five months later it's at $210. I'm not sure what lesson I taught him, if any.1 point

Built the Destiny's Bounty I got around Christmas time with mostly Shop Your Way points from Kmart. I told my wife it would be my birthday gift but she forgot, so I got it out the other day and started in on it. It's really a nice build. My 20 month old daughter loves having Moana drink tea and go to bed in the little bed below deck. I should really make it a point to watch the movie, I watched five seasons of the TV show already.1 point
