  1. @ClintonjosephCurious to see how your first black friday went. Here is a photo of my pop up shop hosted by Green Road Pottery in Stoughton, WI. Retail prices on everything. There are some good deals in there. Come and visit and mention your a Brickplicker for 5.25% off (to make the price esentially tax free). Or just come in and say hi.

  3. It's GO time at Kroger. Newt's Suitcase was an unmarked 20% off at my store. Picked up all the Stephanie's(?) Bedrooms at $7.99 - 20% off (60% off after holiday coupon), all the MF MF's at $7.99 (20% off), farm cottage suitcases at Closeout $15.99 (20% off), already retired Snowwhite cottages at RRP, and threw in the entire HP section. Total came in at $300.27 (there was a $300 in savings limit).

  7. That is strange. If it was a toys for tots booth and all proceeds went to support that program why wouldn't they just donate the sets instead of selling them, especially at steep discounts? As far as the ethics of buying for resale, it depends on the person. If they are getting the asking price they are seeking then I guess it shouldn't matter what the end game is for the sets in question. I'm not shy about arm sweeping a good deal in a retail store, but here I'm leaning towards your way of thinking. That seems odd. I'd probably only buy one for personal use. Better yet, inform them of the true value (which you would hope they would have researched but apparently not), or buy them all, resell them yourself, and then donate the profits back to the program.

  11. Yeah if you bought the B wing at MSRP you totally must be choking. But if you were like the rest of us and bought them at what was the last decent black friday sale for 50% off in the USA ... Then, like me, made a ton more money on B wings than TH. I was doubling my money (even after fees and shipping) on B wings less than two years after EOL. Ebay right now TH is trending at $470 with free shipping. Not even close to doubling your money with fees and shipping costs.

  12. I believe the debate was whether Lego was worth more than gold and how long it would take R2 to reach 500 or 1000 USD.

  14. So who's ordering a couple pallets of these to distribute to us in USA?

  15. What, like POTC? It´s good they release one every year or two to keep the habit going but it would be better to have just a couple on the go at the same time. When we had up to 5 available at the same time it was overkill.

  19. Then Modulars will always have fans and collectors that will want every one to complete their collection or display. The Haunted House was not really a Modular IMO and many anal LEGO collectors would never include one in their "town." Modulars will have their ups and downs, but my money is on more ups than downs.

  22. I managed to make two separate orders of (1) plus free gift before it sold out. In all fairness maybe Lego should of reduced their limit of (5) to a limit of (2). Lego knew these would go fast and having a limit of 5 supports resellers and not little Jimmy's dad who just wants to build one. I realize this goes against most of the attitudes here as most of us are resellers, but morally it makes sense.

  26. 50% off 1 General Merchandise purchase, up to $300 in savings. Valid 11/24-11/27 I believe. You had to spend $400 in store during the Nov 7-18 period to qualify (see bottom of your receipts). $300 got you 40% off, $200 30% off. You cannot see the coupon on your account, but it pops up as a question (do you want to apply your Holiday Bonus 50%?) during check out.

  38. Thought I would give some info on some trends i’ve been seeing in the store this past week, maybe help decide what sets to invest in: Lots of kids want dino sets. Almost every Dad that comes in makes a comment about wanting the Saturn V rocket. I have a used one on display and most people are amazed at the size of it. Wish I had kept more Wall-E. Only had 2 and they went quickly at $145 each. Really all of the ideas sets get positive comments from parents. Elves more popular than Friends. People have asked about Minecraft, a theme I only have very few sets of, I guess i’ll have to get more. Not much interest in Brickheadz. More interest in mixels than them. Most popular CMF is babysitter and banana guy. Also the skeleton trick-or-treater from monster series, but i’m sure that’s just seasonal. Other figs most popular are any random storm/clone trooper. As for used sets, many like the Indiana Jones sets, and mention they didn’t realize there were ever indy lego sets. I also had about 5 power miner sets that all sold really quickly on the first day. Once again, thanks for all the positive comments here!
