  1. This is Harry Potter though. Potter fans are insatiable, this is one promo absolutely worth shelving for a few years. This will exceed Gingerbread House with absolute certainty.

  2. Not that you deserve it after that smart ass response to my simple answer to your question, but the box is the same size as the double character Brickheadz sets. Someone apparently pissed in your cheerios today given the tone of your posts tonight across multiple threads. Sorry to hear that.

  6. Thanks everyone or the help, I definitely learned a few things. The set is Qty. 1 75052 (Cantina). I am pretty small time and usually only reuse boxes and the box I had that fit this set was bigger than it needed to be which is why the priority mail rate was so high. Turns out the flat rate board game box is the cheapest way to go and my post office although they don't normally stock them had about 15 on hand from someone who had extra. 7. If people routinely got fired for bad business decisions at Lego, they would be hiring new management monthly

  9. Yes and available for purchase at some Coles supermarkets. That said sold last of the ones I picked up at Dreamworld in Feb for $10, last week for $32. I'll seek these out during the Boxing Day sales.

  20. I think most of you just degraded into some solid financial ROI calculations how much that certain / any set could bring me in.. totally forgetting the very aspect of every single LEGO set.. its not about the lowest buy-in but most of all about the appeal of the set, creativity, likeleness, playability.. most of the buyers are parents getting those for the kids and not some fancy collectors (speaking of the regular themes, not UCSs and such)

  21. No. If they’re truly sought after, name your price and list it. Auction is too risky unless it’s ultra rare in my opinion.

  23. For RRP in USD it seems a decent price. I would buy sind but that set has most likely another year to go, so maybe its better until next year, but that ist for you to decide. I hate that Lego set the price die this set to 29,99 RRP, so I will be hard to get for below 15€. I really dont get in which cases they decide to do it.

  29. I just watched Boogie Nights tonight. Man, that film is a masterclass of character actors. Burt Reynolds, Don Cheadle, William H. Macy, John C. Reilly, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Luis Guzman. Wow. And the soundtrack was spectacular. The best word I could describe the movie as is 'confident'. It reminded me a bit of Pulp Fiction. I also did a bit of research and found out the lead role of Dirk Diggler (Mark Wahlberg) was originally intended for Leonardo DiCaprio, but he turned it down for another film. That movie, some obscure little B-movie called 'Titanic' or something. ?

  30. I had so much fun interviewing Rok Zgalin Kobe about the LEGO Architecture theme earlier this year. It's rare to get an opportunity to get inside the minds of the creative genius designers at LEGO, so I thought you might enjoy some selected highlights from my interview! Highlights from: ɪɴᴛᴇʀᴠɪᴇᴡ: Rok Žgalin Kobe on LEGO Architecture I started with the same question I asked Jamie - how do you decide what building to make into a LEGO Architecture set? Is it based on market research, your passion, or to coincide with when a new LEGO store is opening? Rok Žgalin Kobe: "It’s actually a combination of them all, and really depends on the model. One might stem from a good idea of a great model that we think is feasible, another might stem from the underlying ... We need to take into account everything from how many sets we’ll have that year, and the price points we would like to have them at, to how the overall portfolio looks like. Of course, we are glad for the ones that just work out." He brought a few prototypes of both the LEGO House set, and the Guggenheim model. It was interesting to learn how he balances literal accuracy with matching the mind of the builder when designing something like the LEGO House. I also enjoyed learning about how teams like Architecture collaborate a lot with other teams, including Creator Expert where he has helped on sets like Downtown Diner. I also enjoyed the deeper look at a few specific sets like Statue of Liberty, Great Wall, and the Guggenheim. Rok shared some of the unique challenges and pleasures in being one of the few people at LEGO with a background in Architecture. The whole interview includes more photos of the Guggenheim and LEGO House prototypes. Sincerely, ---tom P.S. For practical reasons, these were just a few of my favorite excerpts from the full interview at brickarchitect.com website. I hope you enjoyed the stories behind these great LEGO sets!
