  5. Today I tried something different and set up a Lego booth at a local indoor flea market that is held three times per year. I advertised on local Facebook buy/sell groups for about a month leading up to the sale. It seemed to drum up a lot of interest since many people told me that my booth was the only reason they came to the sale. I choose this particular date since it’s right before the holiday shopping season and advertised it as such. Pros...the sale was located less than a mile from my home, so very minimal transportation issues. Lots of traffic and networking opportunities. I had some business cards printed up and handed them out. Cons...lots of prep, from pricing research to literally pricing everything, boxing everything up for transport, set up, and take down. Also, the sale only ran for six hours, from 8am-2pm. Would have been nice to go to at least 4pm. My goal was to focus on small stocking stuffers to medium sets that are priced well for gifting, and it seemed to work. I brought a few large exclusives, but mainly just to draw attention to the booth. I priced my retired sets about 20-35% below eBay sold prices, and my non retired sets below regular retail, while still maintaining an acceptable margin. Surprisingly, I didn’t have many people trying to negotiate, as many realized my pricing was more than fair. I was a little worried about that since it was a flea market / garage sale type environment. In six hours I did just over $900 in sales, mostly the small to medium sized sets I was hoping to move. All in all it was a pretty decent experience, which I will most likely try again in the future. The next sale is in January, which I’ll skip. The following sale after that is in March, which should be a decent opportunity since people will be getting their tax returns and will have some extra cash to spend.

  6. FBA boxes are free pickup with Fed Ex. Just make an account online and schedule it on the website as a ground pickup. I've done UPS smart pickups since 2014 and have never been charged. They do 1 year free pickup promos and don't usually charge you after the year is up. Fed Ex has to be scheduled for the next business day and usually makes you enter in box quantity and weight estimates. UPS doesn't ask for this info on Smart Pickups and you can schedule pickups for same day before the cutoff time you set. I've requested UPS pickups as late as 3pm and they still come that day (or late LATE night during the Holiday rush.) Fed Ex is usually cheaper, but not always. UPS has been more consistent and reliable for me though.

  10. I've been going with two ET and one 60181City Forest Tractor in each order. It's not "filler" material at $15.99, but it is on sale (20% off), and a good way to get over the $50 threshold for the gift card without spending more on a third ET in the same order. Just a suggestion if you're trying to stockpile both sets. The Forest Tractor has yet to be at a lower sale price. Summer WM clearance should offer a potentially better discount, but it's not a guarantee.

  11. The issue in not China but the people selling them on every marketplace imaginable. Amazon is loaded with fakes and yet they bust on resellers for some BS safety data. Crack down on the resellers of knockoff sets instead of resellers of legitimate sets and maybe The LEGO Group's profits will improve.

  12. After ToysRus gave them for free with every 40 euro order, now ToysRus Netherlands is selling them every now and then on their website for 10 euro for the Harry Potter (excl 3 euro shipping), max 1 per order. The other 3 are 15 euro per box. So just bought a couple of Harry Potter sets at 13 euro per item, received them too

  15. Space needle is $70-75 on amazon with prime delivery currently. Nearly 400% increase. real solid. Real solid Correct. I expect these to go for $75 or so in 2-3 years. Around double MSRP, 200%. That’s my conservative guess.

  17. I haven't bought a lot of Architecture, but I don't envision these sets going to little Timmy, but rather sitting on a fancy desk from someone who has more money to burn (and has no clue what BrickLink is).

  25. They reduce the sub primes first as the more popular sets will sell themselves out at full price this time of year, especially with the promo.

  26. Hi folks! I've been in a Lego brand store in Austria and they have following sets marked with a Tag as "retired soon" (Auslaufmodell 2018). The shop assistant told me that this should be mostly the final decision otherwise it will lure the customers with false information to buy the sets and that is forbidden. However, I took photos but I'm sure that I haven't got all of them photographed. Sorry for the bad pic quality but I was in a hurry. Here is the list: 10243 - Parisian Restaurant 10246 - Detective's Office 10247 - Ferris Wheel 21310 - Old Fishing Store 21312 - Women of NASA 71042 - Silent Mary 75060 - Slave I 75144 - Snowspeeder 75827 - Ghostbusters HQ Hope this helps a little bit?! Greetings, Infi

  27. I've been trying to schedule my pickup with fedex the last 3 days. First day the customer service lady put down the wrong street. Second day no one shows up. Finally a nice gentlemen comes today. We fill up his fedex truck, looking at 15 boxes left... He goes huh? I'm going to call my boss. After 20 minutes on the phone, "we have to take some of these out. Someone may be back later to get them." I politely said, some one best show up. TBD.
