  1. Today I tried something different and set up a Lego booth at a local indoor flea market that is held three times per year. I advertised on local Facebook buy/sell groups for about a month leading up to the sale. It seemed to drum up a lot of interest since many people told me that my booth was the only reason they came to the sale. I choose this particular date since it’s right before the holiday shopping season and advertised it as such. Pros...the sale was located less than a mile from my home, so very minimal transportation issues. Lots of traffic and networking opportunities. I had some business cards printed up and handed them out. Cons...lots of prep, from pricing research to literally pricing everything, boxing everything up for transport, set up, and take down. Also, the sale only ran for six hours, from 8am-2pm. Would have been nice to go to at least 4pm. My goal was to focus on small stocking stuffers to medium sets that are priced well for gifting, and it seemed to work. I brought a few large exclusives, but mainly just to draw attention to the booth. I priced my retired sets about 20-35% below eBay sold prices, and my non retired sets below regular retail, while still maintaining an acceptable margin. Surprisingly, I didn’t have many people trying to negotiate, as many realized my pricing was more than fair. I was a little worried about that since it was a flea market / garage sale type environment. In six hours I did just over $900 in sales, mostly the small to medium sized sets I was hoping to move. All in all it was a pretty decent experience, which I will most likely try again in the future. The next sale is in January, which I’ll skip. The following sale after that is in March, which should be a decent opportunity since people will be getting their tax returns and will have some extra cash to spend.

  2. Just picked up a 40305 Lego Brand Store at my local Lego store (Troy, MI) for $25. I didn't think this was available in the US. It does not show up on the US Lego SAH site.

  10. I think you can also do the whole personal link thing from ebay to avoid certain fees. I am envious of your hustle and dedication. If you continue to do it I'm sure you'll build a loyal base of repeat customers. You've got an excellent variety of rare HTF sets.

  11. I sell on eBay, Bricklink, my local Facebook buy/sell groups, and Craigslist. I waited too long to start selling on Amazon and was gated out. Send me a PM with what you are interested in. We can work something out.

  12. I noticed that too. I was able to pick up 10 yesterday as they were going in and out of stock. I was hoping to pick up another 10 this weekend, but I guess not anymore!

  19. I sold Amazon FBA for close to 10 years and recently stopped. I'd rather work a little harder and keep more profits than have to deal with those assholes at AZ. Also, all that it takes is one person returning a DeathStar after opening it to kill profits. Even if they happen to return all the parts (not likely.)

  20. haha.....this is like a nuclear arms race. With all that money to buy so many pallets, you are better off getting a copy of Action Comics #1 or Amazing Fantasy #15.

  21. Someone on the Amazon forums just posted that the head of Product Safety at Lego had called to question Amazon on why they are doing this. I'm hoping that this will all bubble up far enough that it gets brought back in line with reality.

  27. I feel like the big black bird already told you either directly or indirectly WoN was on its way out months ago. As an investor, I don't like the set. I think it will eventually get to 3x+ RRP over time, but I will have already turned 2x - 3x on other similarly priced SKUs with much more upside over next 12 to 18 months.

  28. Price is a little better than expected too at $69.99. Not a full priced purchase for me, but first 15-20% discount and I'm in.

  29. Whether or not this set succeeds or flops as an investment, one thing for absolute certainty is that this set is made of pure creative win and is stunning. This set is the epitome of what I believe the reason Lego Ideas was created for in the first place. But yeah if that thing is a sticker then I'll be like "dang, oh well".

  31. Hey I'm all for a nice quick flip. Just don't post 25 times ripping people for doing it and talking of patience and holding then do the same damn thing for less profit then the original flippers you were ripping.
